  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Shelved for Tuesday's clash

Ullmark (undisclosed) will not play in Tuesday's road clash against Detroit, per Jackson Starr of the Senators' official site.

With the call-up of Jonas Johansson Tuesday afternoon, Ullmark's absence Tuesday was expected. The 33-year-old netminder left Monday's 4-1 win over the Bruins after he was involved in a collision with winger JJ Peterka. However, head coach Travis Green mentioned that Ullmark is doing fine, so he likely avoided a long-term injury. The veteran backstop is off to a strong start in the 2026-27 campaign, where he has compiled a 2-0-0 record, a 1.20 GAA and a .949 save percentage across 39 shots on net between two appearances. In Ullmark's absence, Samuel Ersson will make his first regular-season start with the Senators.

  • Aaron Ekblad D | FLA

Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Likely to miss Tuesday's game

Ekblad (personal) is not expected to suit up in Tuesday's clash against the Kings, per Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site.

The Panthers aren't expected to make any lineup changes ahead of Tuesday's matchup, meaning that Ekblad is likely still with his family attending to a personal matter. The 30-year-old blueliner posted a power-play assist and two hits across his two appearances in the 2026-27 campaign. In his expected absence, Uvis Balinskis will likely be active once again Tuesday. Ekblad's next chance to return will be Saturday's contest against the Wild.

  • Panthers' Jacob Markstrom: Tending twine Tuesday

Markstrom will defend the road net against the Kings on Tuesday.

Markstrom has stopped 33 of 36 shots en route to a 1-0-1 start to the 2026-27 campaign. He is coming off an 18-save effort in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to Anaheim. The Kings (0-1-1) have scored eight goals in two games this campaign.

  • Panthers' Aleksander Barkov: Out 6-8 weeks

Barkov (lower body) will be out for approximately 6-8 weeks, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports Tuesday.

Barkov opted for non-surgical rehab after suffering a lower-body injury in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to San Jose. Florida placed Barkov on long-term injured reserve Saturday. He didn't earn a point in his first two appearances of the 2026-27 campaign, but he recorded two shots on net, two blocked shots and one hit.

  • Senators' Jonas Johansson: Called up to majors

Johansson was recalled from AHL Belleville on Tuesday.

Johansson will head back to Ottawa following the injury to Linus Ullmark (undisclosed), who left Monday's contest before the start of the third period. The 31-year-old Johansson was dealt to the Senators on Sept. 25 from Tampa Bay. It remains to be seen if Ullmark will miss an extended period of time, but Johansson's move to the majors indicates that he will likely back up Samuel Ersson Tuesday.

  • Mikael Pyyhtia LW | CLB

Blue Jackets' Mikael Pyyhtia: Waived by Columbus

Pyyhtia (lower body) was placed on waivers by the Blue Jackets on Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Pyyhtia began the regular season on non-roster injured reserve due to a lower-body injury he sustained during the preseason. However, his placement on waivers indicates that he's moved past the issue. The 24-year-old will head to AHL Cleveland if he clears waivers.

  • Senators' Jorian Donovan: Returned to AHL

Donovan was assigned to AHL Belleville on Tuesday.

In a corresponding move, Ottawa recalled netminder Jonas Johansson from the minors. At the NHL level, Donovan was a healthy scratch in Monday's 4-1 win over Boston. He hasn't picked up a point in two AHL appearances this season.

  • Lightning's Jansen Harkins: Placed on waivers

Harkins was placed on waivers by the Lightning on Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Harkins signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Lightning in July and began the regular season on the NHL roster. He appeared in just one of the team's first three games of the regular season, and he was held scoreless with four hits, one shot on goal and a minus-1 rating in 10:55 of ice time. He'll likely head to the minors if he clears waivers, and he should see more consistent playing time with the AHL club.

  • Flyers' Michael Bunting: Agrees to one-year deal

Bunting signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with Philadelphia on Tuesday, per Darren Dreger of TSN.

Bunting registered 14 goals, 33 points, 126 shots on net and 45 hits in 74 regular-season games between Nashville and Dallas in 2025-26. He should be in the mix for a bottom-six role with the Flyers this campaign.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Back in action Tuesday

Kuemper will guard the home crease in Tuesday's clash against the Panthers, per Alexander Legget.

Kuemper will look to bounce back in a big way Tuesday after he struggled in the Kings' opener Wednesday. The 26-year-old netminder struggled, allowing eight goals across 29 shots on net in the 8-4 loss to Colorado. Backup netminder Anton Forsberg also struggled in his first appearance, where he allowed five goals to the Sharks, so both he and Kuemper have a lot of work to do to get the Kings on the right track. Kuemper will operate as the lead option between the pipes for the time being and will face off against a deep Panthers' lineup Tuesday, which should pose a good challenge. He should only be started in deep fantasy leagues until he reclaims his old form.
