  • Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Set for training camp

Forsling (undisclosed) has been participating in informal skates ahead of training camp, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports Tuesday.

Forsling had two goals, 28 points, 112 shots on net, 98 blocked shots and 52 hits in 80 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season. He sat out Florida's final game of the campaign, but he should be fine for the beginning of camp.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Recovery going as planned

Bedard's recovery from shoulder surgery is going as planned, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports Tuesday.

Bedard is expected to be on the ice but limited at this point. It's unclear how much he'll be participating in activities at training camp -- he will be restricted by his ongoing recovery, which is set to have him sidelined into November. At this point, the Blackhawks aren't sure if he is ahead of schedule, so fantasy managers taking Bedard should still expect him to be out for at least a month, if not longer. More information should be available once team activities begin in earnest in the second half of September.

  • Tyson Jost C | NSH

Predators' Tyson Jost: Agrees to professional tryout

Jost signed a professional tryout agreement with Nashville on Tuesday, according to PuckPedia.

Jost produced eight goals, 16 points, 95 shots on net, 31 blocked shots and 67 hits across 69 regular-season appearances with the Predators in 2025-26. If he secures a standard contract for the 2026-27 campaign, he will probably occupy a depth role.

  • Artem Zub D | OTT

Senators' Artem Zub: Continues recovery before camp

Zub (lower body) is continuing to rehab from injury, but he expects to be ready for the Senators' training camp, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

Zub suffered the lower-body injury during Ottawa's first-round playoff series. Before getting hurt, he recorded 25 assists, 30 points, 92 shots on net, 66 hits and 120 blocked shots across 81 regular-season games. His current injury is something to monitor ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, but it sounds as if he will be ready to go for Opening Night, barring any setbacks. Provided he's healthy, Zub should provide fantasy managers with solid category coverage this season.

  • Hurricanes' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Inks one-year deal

Joseph signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with Carolina on Tuesday.

Joseph accounted for one goal, five assists, 22 shots on net, 28 blocked shots and 18 hits in 31 appearances with Vancouver in the 2025-26 regular season. He will compete for a depth role with Carolina during training camp ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: No timeline for return

Demko (hip) still doesn't have a timeline for his return, per Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK on Tuesday.

Demko underwent hip surgery shortly after leaving a game against Toronto on Jan. 10, and he hasn't played since. He posted a record of 8-10-1 with one shutout, a 2.90 GAA and an .895 save percentage across 20 appearances in the 2025-26 regular season. If Demko isn't ready to start the 2026-27 campaign, Kevin Lankinen will likely get another crack at being the Canucks' No. 1 netminder.

  • Red Wings' Simon Edvinsson: Plans to attend camp

Edvinsson, a restricted free agent, intends to participate in training camp even if he remains unsigned, according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN on Tuesday.

Edvinsson registered 19 goals and 60 points across 175 regular-season outings during his entry-level contract. The 23-year-old defender had nine goals, 25 points, 88 shots on net, 94 hits and 148 blocked shots over 72 appearances in the 2025-26 regular season.

  • Bruins' Fraser Minten: Secures long-term extension

Minten agreed to terms on a seven-year, $50.4 million contract extension with Boston on Tuesday.

Minten put together a solid 2025-26 campaign in which he racked up 17 goals and 18 assists in 82 regular-season contests. It was the 22-year-old center's first full NHL campaign, but it seems the Bruins aren't too concerned about it being a one-off year. If Minten can secure more opportunities with the man advantage, he should be capable of pushing those career-best numbers even higher in 2026-27.

  • Jean-Sebastien Dea: Ends playing career

Dea has announced his retirement from professional hockey, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports on Monday.

Dea played in the KHL and DEL for the last three seasons. His last year in the NHL was during the 2022-23 campaign, when he was with the Coyotes. The 32-year-old put up five goals and seven points over 37 career regular-season NHL games.

  • Maple Leafs' Chris Tanev: Aims to be ready for camp

Tanev (abdomen) is hopeful that he will be ready for the start of training camp, per Dave Feschuk of the Toronto Star on Friday.

Tanev appeared in only 11 games during the 2025-26 regular season due to spinal, groin and core muscle injuries. "I mean, I'm feeling good. We still have to talk to the doctors, I think, in a week or two," said the 36-year-old blueliner. "But the plan is, hopefully, I'm ready to rumble once everything gets going." Assuming he is good to go for Opening Night on Sept. 29 against Montreal, Tanev will likely occupy a top-four role and see time on the penalty kill. His defense-first style doesn't make him an attractive fantasy option, but he can rack up blocked shots.
