  • Clayton Keller RW | UTA

Mammoth's Clayton Keller: Two more helpers Saturday

Keller picked up two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

Both helpers came in the first period as the Mammoth grabbed an early 2-0 lead. Keller has recorded back-to-back two-assist efforts to begin the season, but he's still looking for his first goal after scoring more than 25 in each of the last five campaigns.

  • Chris Kreider LW | MON

Canadiens' Chris Kreider: Posts first two points with Habs

Kreider tallied a goal, recorded an assist and dished out four hits in Saturday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Penguins.

Kreider picked up his first two points in his new home Saturday, as he was a key part of the Canadiens' comeback effort in the third period. He first dished the lone assist on Cole Caufield's goal before he found the back of the net himself with just over a minute of regulation remaining. The 35-year-old Kreider is positioned well to play a big role for the Habs in the team's top six, where he'll often be paired with Caufield and Nick Suzuki. Kreider holds solid fantasy value in most league formats to begin the new season after he posted 22 goals and 50 points in 75 regular-season outings in the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Logan Cooley C | UTA

Mammoth's Logan Cooley: Two helpers in Saturday's win

Cooley pocketed two power-play assists in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

Both helpers came in the third period as the Mammoth put the game away. Cooley has three assists through two games, all with the man advantage, but the 22-year-old has yet to find the back of the net as he looks to deliver his fourth straight 20-goal campaign.

  • Mammoth's Mikhail Sergachev: Two points in Columbus

Sergachev produced a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

The veteran blueliner opened the scoring midway through the first period before helping to set up a Dylan Guenther tally in the third. Sergachev has topped 50 points in each of his first two seasons with the Mammoth, and he's well on his way to making it three straight with a goal and three points in two games.

  • Dylan Guenther RW | UTA

Mammoth's Dylan Guenther: Huge night with man advantage

Guenther scored a goal and added two assists, all on the power play, in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

Utah exploited man-advantage situations for three of its four goals, and Guenther had a hand in all three. The 23-year-old broke out for 40 goals and 73 points in 79 regular-season games last season, and he's come flying out of the gate in 2026-27 with three goals and five points -- all on the power play -- in only two contests.

  • Ivan Demidov RW | MON

Canadiens' Ivan Demidov: One of each in OT loss

Demidov scored a goal, distributed an assist and put three shots on net in Saturday's 6-5 overtime loss to Pittsburgh.

Demidov got on the board in 2026-27 with a pair of points in the heart of the Canadiens' comeback effort Saturday. After pitching in with a secondary helper on Chris Kreider's first goal with the Habs, Demidov continued his heroic effort with the game-tying goal with less than one minute remaining in regulation. The 20-year-old winger had a phenomenal rookie campaign in 2025-26, compiling 19 goals, 62 points and 127 shots on net across 82 regular-season games. He's a near lock to see top-six minutes moving forward, giving him a high ceiling in fantasy as a key piece in Montreal's offense.

  • Mammoth's Nick Schmaltz: Lights lamp twice in win

Schmaltz scored two goals, one the game-winner and the other on the power play, on a game-high eight shots on net in Saturday's 4-1 victory over the Blue Jackets.

The 30-year-old gave the Mammoth a 2-0 lead late in the first period before wrapping up the scoring midway through the third. Schmaltz potted a career-high 33 goals and 74 points in 2025-26 over 82 regular-season games, and he's already tickled twine three times in his first two contests this season.

  • Mammoth's Sebastian Cossa: Gets win in Utah debut

Cossa stopped 17 shots in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

A Kent Johnson tally in the second period spoiled a shutout bid for Cossa in his Mammoth debut, and just his second NHL appearance. The 23-year-old netminder is set to back up Karel Vejmelka this season after being acquired from the Red Wings in June, and more performances like this could earn him a bigger share of the workload than expected.

  • Penguins' Samuel Girard: Strong start continues Saturday

Girard scored a goal and put three shots on net in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over Montreal.

Girard provided two assists during Pittsburgh's Opening Night clash before he continued his hot start Saturday, where he found the back of the net in the second period to give the Penguins a 3-1 lead. The 28-year-old blueliner appears to be in for a solid role in his first full year with the Pens. He compiled three goals and 19 points across just 60 regular-season outings in 2025-26, but he's on pace to challenge the 25-point mark and beyond in the new season. He's a solid waiver-wire pickup in deep leagues for as long as the Penguins' offense stays hot and he occupies a top-four pairing.

  • Matvei Michkov RW | PHI

Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Lights lamp in OT loss

Michkov scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.

The 21-year-old winger gave the Flyers a 2-1 lead midway through the second period with his first tally of the season, converting a feed from Travis Konecny after his linemate won a battle along the boards. It was Michkov's first point through three games, as the seventh overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft looks to bounce back from a disappointing sophomore campaign.
