  • Flames' Brayden Pachal: Lands on waivers

Pachal was placed on waivers Monday, per Pat Steinberg of QR Calgary 770 AM.

Pachal has been a healthy scratch in three straight games to begin the 2026-27 campaign. He contributed one goal, six assists, 29 shots on net, 40 blocked shots and 89 hits in 39 regular-season appearances for the Flames in 2025-26.

  • Connor Zary C | CGY

Flames' Connor Zary: Waived by Calgary

Zary was placed on waivers by the Flames on Monday, Pat Steinberg of QR Calgary 770 AM reports.

Zary appeared in two of the Flames' first three regular-season games, recording no goals, an assist and a hit while averaging 13:38 of ice time. He made a career-high 74 regular-season appearances for the Flames last year and has recorded at least 25 goals in each of the past three seasons. The 25-year-old has appeared in 193 regular-season games at the NHL level and is a candidate to draw interest from other teams on the waiver wire.

  • Devon Levi G | EDM

Oilers' Devon Levi: Gets starting nod for Wednesday

Levi will be between the pipes on the road against Anaheim on Wednesday, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.

Levi is currently riding a two-game winning streak during which he posted a 4.03 GAA and .810 save percentage. With those victories, the 24-year-old backstop has already matched his 2025-26 win total. At this point, it seems to be an open competition for the No. 1 role in Edmonton, especially while Frederik Andersen (knee) is on the shelf.

  • Oilers' Tristan Jarry: Set to start Saturday

Jarry will start Saturday's road game against San Jose, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.

Jarry and Devon Levi have shared time in the crease to begin the year, and that trend will continue during the Oilers' second week of regular-season play. Levi will draw a third consecutive start Wednesday in Anaheim, while Jarry will make his second start of the year Saturday. Jarry wasn't particularly sharp during his Opening Night start, as he allowed six goals on 23 shots (.739 save percentage) in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Canucks at home.

  • Blackhawks' Andrew Mangiapane: Deemed week-to-week

Mangiapane (lower body) is week-to-week, per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times on Monday.

Mangiapane has already missed the last two games after getting hurt in Chicago's 5-2 loss to Vegas last Tuesday. It's unclear when he will be ready to return. Mangiapane registered eight goals, 16 points, 58 shots on net and 65 hits in 62 regular-season appearances between the Blackhawks and Oilers in 2025-26.

  • Andrew Peeke D | UTA

Mammoth's Andrew Peeke: Pots first goal for new team

Peeke scored a goal on three shots and added two hits in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Rangers.

Peeke has collected two points, five shots, four hits, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over three contests this season. He's filling a third-pairing role and also working on the penalty kill, as expected. Peeke has logged at least 10 points in each of the last five years but has never reached 20, and his spot in the lineup may not be secure if the Mammoth want to give Nick DeSimone a look.

  • Rangers' Joe Veleno: Won't play Tuesday

Veleno (lower body) won't be in the lineup for Tuesday's matchup against the Islanders, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports.

Veleno sustained the injury in Sunday's 4-2 win over Utah. He didn't participate in Monday's practice and will miss at least one game. Veleno has gone without a point in four games this season, but he has posted two shots on net, five blocked shots and seven hits.

  • Gabe Perreault RW | NYR

Rangers' Gabe Perreault: Tallies in Sunday's win

Perreault scored a goal in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Mammoth.

Perreault's tally sparked a three-goal third period for the Rangers in the win. The 21-year-old is handling top-line responsibilities well so far with two goals, one assist, four shots, four blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over four contests. Perreault also features on the second power-play unit. The young winger was steady with 27 points in 49 outings in 2025-26, and he's poised for a bigger breakout as a full-time NHL player this year.

  • Blue Jackets' Damon Severson: Expected back Friday

Severson (shoulder) is trending toward a return to the lineup against the Penguins on Friday, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports.

Severson still needs to be activated off non-roster injured reserve, but all signs point to him being ready to play Friday. In 71 regular-season games last year, the 32-year-old blueliner notched eight goals and 24 assists, but that included just four power-play points.

  • Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Starting against Dallas

Askarov was the first goalie off the ice during Monday's morning skate, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports, indicating that he'll draw the road start against Dallas.

Askarov has picked up overtime wins in each of his first two starts of the 2026-27 regular season, posting a 3.31 GAA and .885 save percentage during home outings against the Panthers and Kings. He'll remain in the crease as the Sharks head on the road for the first time this season and will attempt to maintain his winning streak.
