Frank Nazar C | CHI
Blackhawks' Frank Nazar: Set for hearing Friday
Nazar will have a hearing Friday for an illegal check to the head against Bo Horvat.
Nazar was assessed a major penalty late in Thursday's loss to the Islanders for his hit on Horvat, and it's possible he'll face further discipline, with a believed maximum suspension of five games, per Stefen Rosner of NHL.com. Across his five regular-season appearances this year, he's recorded two goals, an assist, two hits and two blocked shots while averaging 18:50 of ice time.

Sergei Murashov G | PIT
Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Exits ice first
Murashov was the first goalie to leave the ice Friday, Dan Kingerski of Pittsburgh Hockey Now reports, indicating he'll tend the twine on the road against Columbus.
Murashov will make his second appearance of the year after giving up three goals on 35 shots in a loss to Winnipeg on Monday. With Arturs Silovs underwhelming, he's posted a 3.37 GAA across three games; the door is open for the 22-year-old Murashov to see more opportunities in the crease for the Penguins.

Miles Wood LW | TOR
Maple Leafs' Miles Wood: Called up from minors
Wood was recalled from AHL Toronto on Friday.
Wood was brought over from Columbus as part of the Kirill Marchenko trade but has yet to get into a game for the Leafs. Even with his elevation to the NHL roster, Wood is far from a lock to play in Saturday's clash with the Avalanche, as he would need to edge out the likes of Zach MacEwen or Benoit-Olivier Groulx.

Tyler Pitlick C | MIN
Wild's Tyler Pitlick: Sent down Friday
Pitlick was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Friday.
Pitlick was called up by Minnesota on Wednesday, but he didn't appear in any games during his time with the NHL club. He'll be sent back down after Rieger Lorenz was called up from the AHL on Friday.

Nick Foligno LW | MIN
Wild's Nick Foligno: Shifts to injured reserve
Foligno (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Friday.
With his move to injured reserve, Foligno should be expected to be out of action for at least the next three games, though it could still be longer. Prior to getting hurt, the veteran winger notched one goal and three shots in three games while averaging a career-low 9:57 of ice time.
-
Damon Severson D | CLB
Blue Jackets' Damon Severson: Back on roster
Severson (shoulder) has been added to the Devils' roster ahead of Friday's clash with the Penguins, per the NHL media site.
Severson is set to make his season debut for the Jackets after missing the opening two outings. Last year, the veteran defenseman notched eight goals and 24 assists, including four power-play points, in 71 regular-season tilts while averaging 21:04 of ice time.

Igor Shesterkin G | NYR
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Starting against Washington
Shesterkin will start Friday's road game against Washington, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.
After an Opening Night loss in Boston, Shesterkin has bounced back with wins in each of his last three starts, posting a 1.67 GAA and .932 save percentage during those victories. Across two starts against the Capitals last year, he went 2-0-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .925 save percentage.
-
Clay Stevenson G | WPG
Jets' Clay Stevenson: Set to start Friday
Stevenson is expected to be between the pipes at home against the Ducks on Friday, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.
Stevenson has made one appearance for the Jets through the first four games, stopping 29 of 31 shots in a win over the Penguins. The 27-year-old backstop will likely face a stiffer test from the Ducks, especially on the power play, where they are converting at 38.5 percent. If Connor Hellebuyck (suspension) rejoins the team, Stevenson figures to be the odd man out, but for now he'll continue to serve as the No. 2 option.
-
Dominic James C | TB
Lightning's Dominic James: Sent down to minors
James (hand) was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Friday.
With his demotion, James will have been medically cleared for his hand injury. While the team likely wants the 24-year-old forward to start with the Crunch in order to get up to game speed, he should be in the mix for a call-up sooner rather than later, especially if an injury or two pops up or the Bolts are playing a more physical team.

Matt Roy D | WAS
Capitals' Matt Roy: Ruled out for Friday
Roy (lower body) won't play in Friday's game against the Rangers, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Roy will be unavailable for a second consecutive game due to a lower-body injury he sustained during Saturday's loss to the Lightning. However, head coach Spencer Carbery said Friday that Roy is "coming along" and remains day-to-day. Roy hasn't yet resumed skating on his own, so it's not yet clear whether he'll be in the mix to suit up for Sunday's game against Seattle.
