  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Slated to face Philadelphia

Luukkonen is expected to start at home against Philadelphia on Wednesday, per Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.

Luukkonen has a 3-2-2 record, 3.59 GAA and .860 save percentage in seven appearances this season. He has allowed at least three goals in each of his past three games, but he has also had to face at least 30 shots in each of those tilts. Philadelphia is 2-6-3 while averaging a league-worst 1.55 goals per game, but the Flyers might be more dangerous than that implies after winning their past two games while outscoring the competition 6-3.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Suffers lower-body injury

Thompson won't practice Wednesday and is considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury ahead of Saturday's clash with the Sabres, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.

Thompson's injury is relatively well-timed for fans and fantasy managers, given the team doesn't play again until Saturday. The club could even consider sitting the backstop in that contest, which would give him a full week off without missing significant starts. Thompson has been struggling of late, dropping three of his last four outings while posting a 3.58 GAA. As such, perhaps some time off wouldn't be the worst idea, even if he is cleared ahead of the matchup with Buffalo.

  • Maple Leafs' Artur Akhtyamov: Returns to AHL

Akhtyamov was reassigned to AHL Toronto on Wednesday, per David Alter of The Hockey News.

The Maple Leafs had a back-to-back set against San Jose on Monday and Columbus on Tuesday, so what Toronto did was bring up Akhtyamov to serve as the backup for both games. Sergei Bobrovsky got the nod Monday, while Anthony Stolarz was used Tuesday. The arrangement allowed for the goaltender who wasn't starting to get a full game off, and it guaranteed that Toronto wouldn't be put into a situation where it had to employ one of its two main netminders on both days. Toronto won both tilts without Akhtyamov needing to draw into the net. It wouldn't be surprising if the Maple Leafs make similar arrangements for future back-to-back sets.

  • Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Beaten four times Tuesday

Wallstedt stopped 28 of 32 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Oilers.

Wallstedt couldn't protect Minnesota's early advantage, allowing three goals across the first two periods before surrendering the overtime winner. However, he made several important saves during Edmonton's overtime power play before Evan Bouchard finally beat him. Wallstedt's fantasy outlook remains promising, although matchups against elite offensive teams could produce volatile results. The 23-year-old Swedish netminder has suffered just one defeat in regulation this season, going 6-1-2 with a 2.20 GAA and a .915 save percentage in nine appearances.

  • Devon Levi G | EDM

Oilers' Devon Levi: Makes 27 saves in overtime win

Levi stopped 27 of 30 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Wild.

Levi secured another victory despite allowing Minnesota to erase a two-goal deficit in the third period. The young goaltender finished with a .900 save percentage, and he has posted a single-game save percentage of at least .900 in four of his six appearances this season. His ability to collect wins behind a potent Oilers offense strengthens his fantasy appeal, although his save percentage and consistency will remain important factors in determining his long-term value. For now, though, he should remain the Oilers' No. 1 goaltender ahead of Tristan Jarry, and that should be enough to keep him rostered across all formats.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Makes 18 saves in overtime victory

Oettinger stopped 18 of 20 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Bruins.

Oettinger helped Dallas secure its third consecutive victory, recovering after allowing Boston to take leads of 1-0 and 2-1. The 27-year-old netminder has now won two straight starts, including a 19-save shutout against Chicago on Saturday. His relatively light workload Tuesday limited his save total, but Dallas' improving results and his established role as the team's primary starter provide a strong fantasy foundation. Oettinger's 4-2-1 record doesn't do him any justice, as he also sports an elite 1.13 GAA and an impressive .945 save percentage. He has conceded just eight goals on 146 shots faced.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Strong effort in overtime loss

Swayman stopped 22 of 25 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Stars.

Swayman kept Boston competitive throughout the contest, but Mikko Rantanen's hat trick ultimately ended the Bruins' five-game winning streak. The 27-year-old netminder has been a reliable contributor during Boston's strong start, and Tuesday's .880 save percentage represented a rare dip in his early-season numbers. Despite the defeat, the Bruins have earned points in six consecutive games. Swayman has appeared five times over that stretch, posting a 1.78 GAA and an impressive .936 save percentage on 141 shots faced.

  • Joel Hofer G | STL

Blues' Joel Hofer: Stellar showing Tuesday

Hofer turned away 32 of 33 shots on goal in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Jets.

Hofer was dominant in Tuesday's outing, as he allowed just one even-strength tally to Cole Perfetti early in the third period. The 26-year-old Hofer has been effective across his first six appearances to start the new season, where he has compiled a 3-2-1 record, a shutout, a 2.20 GAA and a .919 save percentage. With his success in 2025-26 and his hot start to the new season, there's no question that he's poised to be the No. 1 netminder in St. Louis for the foreseeable future. With the Blues' defense helping shore things up behind the blue line as well, Hofer is trending towards becoming a low-end No. 1 goalie option in fantasy if he can sustain his current quality of play.

  • Jets' Stuart Skinner: Falls short in narrow loss

Skinner turned aside 26 of 28 shots on net in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Blues.

Skinner fought hard Tuesday, but ultimately was handed the loss due to Philip Broberg's power-play goal in the third period. Outside of the Blues' tally with a man advantage, Skinner allowed just one goal at even strength early in the contest. Prior to Tuesday's loss, the 27-year-old netminder had posted a streak of five games where he was unbeaten in regulation. Overall, he now holds a 3-1-2 record, a 2.64 GAA and a .910 save percentage across six appearances. In the early stages of the new season, Skinner has looked the part of a solid No. 1 option between the pipes. For as long as Connor Hellebuyck (suspension) holds out while looking to be traded, Skinner is a solid option in most fantasy formats given his personal success and the Jets' seemingly-improved offense from the 2025-26 season.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Yields four goals in loss

Thompson stopped 21 of 25 shots on net in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Kings.

Thompson's struggles didn't persist across the entire game Tuesday, as he would've tended to a clean first two periods if not for a Kings' pair of goals across 31 seconds at the end of the opening period. With Tuesday's loss, the 29-year-old netminder now holds a 4-3-0 record, a 2.90 GAA and a .901 save percentage across seven appearances. Thompson has had an up-and-down start to the 2026-27 campaign, but the positives revolving around him outweigh the negatives. He remains a solid No. 1 goalie option in fantasy for the time being. His next chance to bounce back is Saturday's clash against the Sabres.
