  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Tending twine in Vegas

Wedgewood will be between the road pipes in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals versus the Golden Knights on Sunday.

Wedgewood started the playoffs with six straight wins, but he's faltered lately, going 1-3 over his last four outings while allowing eight goals on 70 shots. However, head coach Jared Bednar is showing trust in the 33-year-old netminder, as Colorado's bench boss could have elected to go with Mackenzie Blackwood since Wedgewood was in net for the first two games of this series, both of which were losses. The Avalanche are getting a huge boost to their lineup Sunday -- Cale Makar (upper body) is giving it a go in his usual spot on the No. 1 pairing next to Devon Toews.

  • Carter Hart G | LV

Golden Knights' Carter Hart: Starting at home in Game 3

Hart will patrol the home blue paint Sunday against the Avalanche in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, per Jesse Granger of The Athletic.

Hart has been a significant factor in the Golden Knights' success recently -- he hasn't given up more than two goals during his active four-game winning streak. The Golden Knights will get their captain back in the lineup Sunday, as Mark Stone is returning from a lower-body injury after missing the past five games. Meanwhile, Cale Makar (upper body) is set to return to the lineup for the Avalanche after missing the first two games of this series, which could help Colorado create more chances against Hart.

  • Jakub Dobes G | MON

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Takes overtime loss in Game 2

Dobes stopped 23 of 26 shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Dobes was far busier than Frederik Andersen, who faced just 12 shots in the game. Dobes did his part to keep things close, but Nikolaj Ehlers' second goal of the contest came at 3:29 of overtime. That prevented Dobes from earning a third straight win -- he continues to struggle to string victories together. He's allowed seven goals on 93 shots over his last three outings, so he doesn't appear to be in danger of losing the crease. Look for the 24-year-old netminder to get the nod again in Game 3 in Montreal on Monday.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Picks up overtime win Saturday

Andersen stopped 10 of 12 shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Canadiens in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Andersen again saw a fairly light workload, but he let in a pair of goals by Josh Anderson. Nikolaj Ehlers answered each of those tallies and scored the game-winner at 3:29 of overtime. Andersen has allowed seven goals on 33 shots over the first two games of this series against the Canadiens, but he's earned the right to keep the crease as long as things don't get out of hand. Game 3 is set for Monday in Montreal.

  • Jakub Dobes G | MON

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Tending twine Saturday

Dobes will guard the road goal in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals versus the Hurricanes on Saturday, Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News reports.

Dobes posted a 26-save effort to get the win in Game 1 on Thursday. The Hurricanes are likely to bounce back after shaking off the rust following a long break between rounds, but Dobes has largely delivered good results all postseason long. He has allowed two goals or fewer in his last two starts and in eight of his 15 playoff games so far.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Set to start Game 2

Andersen is expected to protect the home net in Game 2 against Montreal on Saturday, per Walt Ruff and Peter Dewar of the Hurricanes' official site.

Andersen is coming off a 16-save effort in Thursday's 6-2 loss to the Canadiens in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. After allowing only 10 goals in the first two rounds of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, he surrendered five to Montreal in Thursday's defeat. Andersen has an 8-1 record with two shutouts, a 1.51 GAA and a .932 save percentage through nine appearances this postseason.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Comes up short again in Game 2

Wedgewood allowed two goals on 24 shots in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. The third goal was an empty-netter.

Wedgewood was unable to get a 1-0 lead across the finish line in the third period. He allowed the two goals in a span of 2:07 in the middle of the frame, and the Avalanche's offense couldn't bail him out. Prior to this series, Wedgewood hadn't lost consecutive games in regulation since Jan. 4-6. He's stopped 46 of 51 shots against Vegas so far. It's unclear if head coach Jared Bednar is planning on a goaltending change for Game 3 in Vegas on Sunday, but Wedgewood has been decent despite the results going against him.

  • Carter Hart G | LV

Golden Knights' Carter Hart: Strong again in Game 2 win

Hart stopped 29 of 30 shots in Friday's 3-1 win over the Avalanche in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

Hart's certainly been tested in this series, but he's won two games on the road to put the Golden Knights in an outstanding position. He's turned aside 65 of 68 shots across those two victories and has matched his longest winning streak of the postseason (four games). It looks like it would take an injury to get Hart out of Vegas' crease at this point. Expect the 27-year-old to tend the twine on home ice in Game 3 on Sunday.

  • Carter Hart G | LV

Golden Knights' Carter Hart: Tending twine Friday

Hart will guard the road goal in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals versus the Avalanche on Friday, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Hart stopped 36 of 38 shots to earn the win in Game 1, and he'll look to repeat that effort to give the Golden Knights a commanding series lead. Overall, he has gone 9-4 with a 2.35 GAA and a .918 save percentage over 13 playoff outings.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Set to start Game 2

Wedgewood is expected to guard the cage at home against Vegas in Game 2 on Friday, Jesse Montano of Guerilla Sports reports.

Wedgewood will get the nod despite giving up three goals on 27 shots (.889 save percentage) in a Game 1 defeat to the Golden Knights. In the postseason, the 33-year-old backstop is 7-2 with a 2.32 GAA and .911 save percentage in nine outings. Even with the club giving Wedgewood the start, he figures to be on a short leash; another tough outing could give Mackenzie Blackwood another opportunity.
