  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Perfect run continues

Andersen made 15 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over the Flyers on Saturday in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference second round. Andersen is a perfect 8-0 this postseason. He leads all netminders in GAA (1.12) and save percentage (.950). He has been exceptional, and he'll get a much-deserved rest until the Eastern Conference Finals against either the Canadiens or Sabres. Andersen is only the fourth goalie in NHL history to allow two goals or fewer in each of his first eight starts of a playoff run.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Facing Flyers in Game 4

Andersen will defend the road net against Philadelphia on Saturday in Game 4, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Andersen is coming off an 18-save performance in Game 3's 4-1 win over the Flyers on Thursday. He has allowed two goals or fewer in each of his previous seven outings this postseason. During that span, Andersen has stopped 176 of 184 shots and earned two shutouts en route to a 7-0 record.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Extends series lead to 3-0

Andersen stopped 18 of 19 shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Flyers in Game 3. Andersen's stunning postseason run continues, as he's now won all seven playoff games and nine in a row dating back to the regular season. The 36-year-old has had more games allowing one goal or less (four) than two or more (three) in the playoffs. His success has the Hurricanes on the brink of a second-round sweep. Andersen will almost certainly be between the pipes for Saturday's Game 4 with the chance to close out the series, which would earn some significant rest between rounds as well.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Expected between pipes

Andersen is set to tend the twine on the road for Thursday's Game 3 clash with the Flyers, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Andersen is undefeated in the postseason, going 6-0 with a ridiculous 1.02 GAA, .958 save percentage and two shutouts. In fact, going back to the regular season, the veteran backstop has won eight in a row, cementing himself as the No. 1 option for the Hurricanes. In the playoffs, the Flyers are generating the fourth-fewest shots on net per game at 26.3, so fantasy managers shouldn't be expecting a high-volume night for Andersen.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Hangs on for OT win in Game 2

Andersen stopped 34 shots Monday in the Hurricanes' 3-2 overtime win over the Flyers in Game 2 of their second-round series. Philly scored twice in 39 seconds early in the first period to grab an early 2-0 lead, but Andersen kept his focus and shut the door the rest of the way as Carolina's offense got rolling. The veteran netminder remains undefeated this postseason, going 6-0 with a stunning 1.02 GAA and .958 save percentage as the series shifts to Philadelphia for Game 3 on Thursday.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Slated starter for Game 2

Andersen is expected to protect the home net in Game 2 against Philadelphia on Monday, per Walt Ruff and Peter Dewar of the Hurricanes' official site. Andersen opened Round 2 of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs with 19 saves in a 3-0 shutout win over the Flyers on Saturday. He has surrendered only five goals on 129 shots en route to a 5-0 record this postseason.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Sets Carolina record in Game 1 win

Andersen posted a 19-save shutout in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Flyers in Game 1 of the second round. Andersen's win was his 24th playoff victory for the Hurricanes, surpassing Cam Ward's team record. The 36-year-old Andersen has earned five of those wins, including two shutouts, this postseason. He's allowed just five goals on 129 shots over five playoff games, cementing his status as the Hurricanes' No. 1 goalie. Look for Andersen to get the nod again in Game 2 on Monday.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Set for Game 1 start

Andersen is expected to get the starting nod at home for Game 1 against the Flyers on Saturday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports. Andersen had a perfect 4-0 record in the opening round of the playoffs against the Senators, posting a 1.10 GAA, a .955 save percentage and one shutout. It would have been quite the shock to see him removed from the crease for the start of the second round. At this point, it would likely take multiple bad outings by the veteran netminder for him to lose the starting role in Carolina.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Silencing doubters with excellence

Andersen made 25 saves in a 4-2 win over Ottawa on Saturday in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference First Round. Andersen allowed just five goals in four games. He has dazzled with a 1.10 GAA, .955 save percentage and one shutout this postseason. Andersen has heard doubters throughout his career, but this performance has him near the top of the Conn Smythe odds list to this point in the postseason. He and the Canes now await the winner of the Flyers-Penguins series.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Set to start Saturday

Andersen is expected to guard the road goal against Ottawa on Saturday in Game 4, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports. Andersen is coming off a 21-save performance in Game 3's 2-1 win over the Senators on Thursday. He has surrendered only three goals on 83 shots in Carolina's first three contests of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Hurricanes can advance to the second round if they secure a victory in Saturday's matchup.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Dazzling when it matters most

Andersen made 21 saves in a 2-1 win over Ottawa in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference First Round on Thursday. Andersen was tested, but Ottawa wasn't particularly effective in crucial situations. The Senators went 0-for-5 on the power play, putting up just four shots, which included a 5-on-3 opportunity for 1:28 in the second period. Andersen is 3-0 with a sparkling 0.84 GAA and .964 save percentage in three starts this postseason. The Hurricanes can move to the next round with a victory in Game 4 on Saturday.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Slated to start Thursday

Andersen is expected to defend the road cage in Ottawa on Thursday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Andersen has been sharp in the first two games of the playoffs, allowing two goals on 61 shots (.967 save percentage) in a pair of wins over Ottawa. The netminder is on a four-game winning streak dating back to the regular season and has taken over the No. 1 job in Carolina from rookie Brandon Bussi. The Senators were eighth in NHL scoring during the regular season, generating 3.35 goals per game, a far cry from the 1.00 goals per game they've generated to begin the playoffs.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Sharp in 2OT win in Game 2

Andersen stopped 37 shots Monday during the Hurricanes' 3-2 double-overtime win over the Senators in Game 2 of their first-round series. Carolina handed the veteran netminder an early 2-0 lead, before Andersen finally allowed his first goal of the postseason on a fluky play -- Drake Batherson's centering pass deflected right back to him off Jaccob Slavin's skate, and Andersen was out of position as a result for the subsequent one-timer. The Senators tied things up before the second intermission, but Andersen locked things down for the remaining 54 minutes of the game. He's given up two goals on 61 shots to kick off the Hurricanes' playoff run, giving him plenty of momentum as the series shifts to Ottawa for Game 3 on Thursday.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Exits ice first Monday

Andersen was the first goalie to leave the ice Monday, Julian McKenzie of The Athletic reports, indicating he'll be between the pipes at home for Game 2 on Monday. Considering Andersen secured a 22-save shutout in Game 1, there was little question that he would get the nod for Game 2. Going back to the start of April, the 36-year-old netminder is 4-1-0 with a 1.81 GAA and .921 save percentage over five appearances. At this point, Andersen seems to have cemented himself as the No. 1 option in Carolina.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Sixth career playoff shutout

Andersen made 22 saves Saturday in a 2-0 win over Ottawa in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round. It was Andersen's sixth career shutout in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Great Dane has a strong postseason pedigree with a 47-35-0 record, 2.37 GAA and .914 save percentage in 86 starts since 2013-14 (his first season in the NHL). Andersen had yet another injury-riddled regular season in 2025-26, but it appears he's going to get a shot to carry the Canes this postseason. Brandon Bussi, who had an outstanding first regular season in the NHL but has just eight pro playoff starts (all AHL) in his career, is at the ready on the bench.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Tending twine in Game 1

Andersen will protect the home goal versus Ottawa in Game 1 on Saturday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports. The Hurricanes are going with Andersen's veteran presence in goal, rather than rookie Brandon Bussi, who saw the majority of the action during the regular season. Andersen was 16-14-5 with a 3.05 GAA and a poor .874 save percentage over 35 appearances in 2025-26. Andersen gave up five goals on 30 shots in his lone appearance versus the Senators, a 6-3 loss April 5.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Roster technicality causes absence

Andersen was unavailable for Tuesday's game versus the Islanders due to a roster technicality, per the Islanders' game broadcast. The Hurricanes really bungled their roster for this one. They intended to have Pyotr Kochetkov start, and he was on the ice for warmups but was not eligible to suit up. However, since he was dressed for warmups, that made Andersen ineligible to suit up. Andersen is apparently fine ahead of the postseason, but it's unclear how much he'll play now that Kochetkov is healthy and Brandon Bussi has shown skill to get wins throughout the campaign.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Not available Tuesday

Andersen (undisclosed) won't dress for Tuesday's game versus the Islanders. Andersen was unavailable to dress and Pyotr Kochetkov was unavailable due to a roster technicality, leaving the Hurricanes with just one of their three goalies in uniform. Brandon Bussi will start the regular-season finale. Andersen may not see much time in the playoffs, but he may be able to suit up as the backup goalie depending on the severity of whatever issue he's dealing with.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Builds win streak Saturday

Andersen turned away 26 of 27 shots on goal in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Mammoth. Andersen picked up his second consecutive win Saturday, as he kept the Mammoth off the scoreboard until early in the third period. With the win, he now holds a 16-14-5 record, a 3.05 GAA and an .874 save percentage through 35 appearances this season. Since the Olympics, the 36-year-old netminder has taken a step closer to his form in prior years with a 9-4-0 record and a 2.70 GAA across his last 13 outings. His save numbers have fluctuated during that time, however, making Andersen a risky option for the remainder of the fantasy playoffs.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Tending twine Saturday

Andersen will patrol the road paint in Saturday's clash against the Mammoth, per Adam Gold of 99.9 The Fan Raleigh-Durham. Andersen will look for his second consecutive win Saturday after stopping 23 shots in a 7-2 win over Chicago on Thursday. Overall, the 36-year-old netminder has a 15-14-5 record, a 3.11 GAA and an .871 save percentage across 34 outings this season. He'll draw a difficult matchup against the Mammoth, who rank 10th in the NHL with 3.31 goals per game this season.
