  • Ducks' Pavel Mintyukov: Returns to practice Monday

Mintyukov (illness) returned to practice Monday, Derek Lee of The Hockey News reports.

Mintyukov was sidelined for Saturday's preseason finale against the Kings due to an illness, but he appears to be back to full health a few days later. The 22-year-old will have several days to work with the Ducks in practice and should be available for their Opening Night matchup against the Golden Knights on Friday.

  • Blue Jackets' Damon Severson: Set to miss first two regular-season games

Head coach Rick Bowness said Monday that he expects Severson (shoulder) to miss at least the first two games of the regular season, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports.

Severson's 2025-26 campaign ended prematurely due to shoulder surgery that he underwent in early April, and his status was uncertain for Opening Night of the 2026-27 regular season. Although the 32-year-old reportedly felt good during training camp, he's slated to miss the start of the year as he continues his recovery process. Following the Blue Jackets' first two regular-season games this year, they'll have almost a week off before facing the Penguins on Oct. 9, which could give Severson an opportunity to work with the team in practice before potentially returning to game action.

  • Artem Zub D | OTT

    Senators' Artem Zub: Suffers setback

Zub (knee) suffered a setback during training camp, according to Wayne Scanlan of Sportsnet on Monday.

Zub has been skating on his own, but he won't be ready for the start of the 2026-27 campaign. There is currently no timeline for his return. Zub registered five goals, 30 points, 92 shots on net, 57 PIM, 66 hits and 120 blocked shots in 81 regular-season appearances with Ottawa in 2025-26.

  • Senators' Jake Sanderson: Expected to be fine

Sanderson (undisclosed) is fine despite sitting out Monday's practice, Wayne Scanlan of Sportsnet reports.

Sanderson is expected to participate in Tuesday's on-ice session. He left Saturday's 4-3 preseason win over Montreal for precautionary reasons. Assuming he avoids any setbacks, Sanderson should be available for Ottawa's season opener against Toronto on Saturday.

  • Tyler Tucker D | STL

Blues' Tyler Tucker: Shifts to IR

Tucker (knee) was placed on injured reserve Monday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Tucker is week-to-week and will miss the start of the 2026-27 campaign. It's unclear when he will be ready to return. Tucker earned three goals, 17 points, 68 shots on net, 51 blocked shots and 100 hits in 69 regular-season appearances for the Blues in 2025-26.

  • Blues' Logan Mailloux: Facing multi-week absence

General manager Alexander Steen said Monday that Mailloux is slated to be re-evaluated in approximately eight weeks after undergoing a successful procedure to address a hand injury, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports. As a result, the team placed Mailloux on injured reserve Monday.

Mailloux suffered his injury during Saturday's preseason finale against the Blackhawks and appears to be on track to be sidelined for approximately two months to begin the regular season. Across 67 regular-season appearances with St. Louis last year, he recorded five goals, eight assists, 93 hits, 56 blocked shots and 48 PIM while averaging 16:46 of ice time. Justin Barron and Adam Jiricek are candidates to see time in the lineup during Mailloux's early-season absence.

  • Dante Fabbro D | CLB

Blue Jackets' Dante Fabbro: Expected to miss at least a month

Fabbro (upper body) is expected to miss at least a month, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports Sunday.

Fabbro was placed on injured reserve Friday due to an upper-body injury he sustained during Monday's preseason game against the Red Wings. It's not yet clear whether Damon Severson (shoulder) will be ready for Opening Night, but the Blue Jackets are in the process of trying to sign Carson Soucy after he spent camp with the team on a professional tryout agreement.

  • Panthers' Alex Petrovic: Lands on waivers

Petrovic was placed on waivers Sunday, per PuckPedia.

Petrovic registered 10 points, 57 shots on net, 77 blocked shots, 88 hits and 47 PIM in 54 appearances for Dallas during the 2025-26 regular season. He signed a two-year, $1.75 million contract with Florida in the summer. Petrovic could head to AHL Charlotte to begin the 2026-27 campaign if he clears waivers.

  • Panthers' Donovan Sebrango: Placed on waivers

Sebrango was placed on waivers by the Panthers on Monday, PuckPedia reports.

Sebrango made 42 regular-season appearances between Ottawa and Florida last year and recorded no goals, eight assists, 77 hits, 68 PIM and 32 blocked shots while averaging 15:06 of ice time. He'll presumably begin the 2026-27 campaign in the minors but will be a candidate to rejoin the NHL club if the Panthers deal with injuries at some point.

  • Ducks' Travis Mitchell: Headed to waivers

Mitchell was placed on waivers by the Ducks on Sunday, per PuckPedia.

Mitchell was a surprise addition on Sunday's waiver list, as the Ducks currently have multiple key defensemen either listed as day-to-day or out, including Pavel Mintyukov (illness), Drew Helleson (lower body) and Ian Moore (lower body). The 26-year-old Mitchell played nine regular-season outings with the Islanders in 2025-26, but he primarily played with AHL Bridgeport, posting a goal and 17 points across 58 regular-season games. While he'll head to AHL San Diego if he goes unclaimed, he could return to Anaheim in the near future if the team's defensive core has their current health issues persist.
