Jake Walman D | EDM
Oilers' Jake Walman: Nabs first assist since return
Walman notched an assist, four shots on goal and two blocked shots in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Canucks.
The helper was Walman's first point in three contests since he returned from a lower-body injury that cost him 23 games. The 29-year-old was eased in for the first two games, but he saw 21:29 of ice time Saturday. He's likely to fill a bottom-four role but could still be a factor on the power play. For the season, he's at 11 points, 31 shots on net, 36 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating across 20 appearances.

His first helper in Saturday's win was also the 200th of his career, joining Torey Krug (394) and Neal Pionk (218) as the third active undrafted defenseman to reach the milestone, according to Matt Komma of NHL.com. Lindholm saw 20:03 of ice time in his return from a six-game absence due to an undisclosed injury. The 31-year-old looks good to go for top-four minutes once again, though he's become a substantial injury risk whose scoring hasn't made up for it. Smith scored a goal and added two assists in Penn State's 6-3 win over the University of Notre Dame on Saturday.
Smith has done a decent job in his first NCAA season with 14 points in 20 outings this season. The Blue Jackets prospect is establishing himself quickly as a freshman. The 14th overall pick in 2025 will need some more development time, and he should be a steady source of offense from the blue line in the future.
