  • Bruins' Elias Lindholm: Scores third-period goal in victory

Lindholm recorded a goal on two shots while also recording two blocked shots during Tuesday's 5-1 preseason win over Philadelphia.

Lindholm didn't appear in the Bruins' preseason opener against the Capitals on Sunday, but he was on the ice Tuesday and made his presence felt with a third-period goal. He appeared in 69 regular-season games during the 2025-26 campaign, recording 17 goals, 31 assists, 59 blocked shots, 41 hits and 38 PIM while averaging 17:53 of ice time.

  • Bruins' Morgan Geekie: Pots goal in preseason win

Geekie scored a power-play goal on one shot while also recording a hit during Tuesday's 5-1 preseason win over the Flyers.

Geekie has shown improvement over each of his first three seasons in Boston, and he appears to be in line for a significant role once again during the 2026-27 campaign. Across 81 regular-season appearances last year, he recorded 39 goals, 29 assists, 110 hits, 34 blocked shots and 22 PIM while averaging 17:24 of ice time, and it was encouraging to see him score a third-period goal with the man advantage during his preseason debut Tuesday.

  • Bruins' Matthew Poitras: Misses practice

Poitras (undisclosed) missed Wednesday's practice, per Scott McLaughlin of WEEI.

Poitras had 13 goals, 44 points and 48 PIM in 69 regular-season appearances with AHL Providence in 2025-26. He also had a goal in three regular-season outings with Boston last campaign. Provided he's healthy enough to do so, the 22-year-old is likely to begin the upcoming season in the minors.

  • Mammoth's Cameron Hebig: Put on waivers

Hebig was placed on waivers Wednesday for the purpose of being assigned to AHL Tucson.

Hebig was part of Utah's initial training camp roster, but he was always a long shot to make the NHL squad. The 29-year-old had 25 goals and 54 points in 68 regular-season appearances with Tucson in 2025-26.

  • Maple Leafs' Dakota Joshua: Dealing with core muscle injury

Joshua is dealing with a core muscle injury and remains day-to-day, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports Wednesday.

Joshua's availability for the Opening Night clash with the Canadiens on Sept. 29 remains in doubt. If the 30-year-old winger makes the lineup, he will likely play a bottom-six role and could challenge for the 20-point threshold after missing it in each of the previous two seasons.

  • Red Wings' Sheldon Dries: Put on waivers

Dries was placed on waivers by the Red Wings on Tuesday, per James Mirtle of The Athletic.

Dries was one of six players who were placed on waivers by Detroit on Tuesday. The 32-year-old forward had a solid season with AHL Grand Rapids in 2025-26, compiling 23 goals, 45 points and 149 shots on net across 57 regular-season appearances. If he goes unclaimed through 24 hours, he'll likely return Grand Rapids ahead of his third season with the AHL squad.

  • Predators' Jake Lucchini: Heads to waivers

Lucchini was placed on waivers by the Predators on Tuesday, per James Mirtle of The Athletic.

Lucchini signed a one-year extension with the Predators' organization back in February. The 31-year-old winger was excellent in the 2025-26 season with AHL Milwaukee, where he posted 17 goals, 50 points and 142 shots on net across 63 regular-season games. If he goes unclaimed over the next 24 hours, he will likely return to Milwaukee and could see a call-up to Nashville in a pinch.

  • Rangers' Juuso Parssinen: Goes on waivers

Parssinen was placed on waivers Tuesday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.

Parssinen split regular-season time between the NHL and AHL in 2025-26. He registered two goals and three points in 20 appearances for the Rangers. With AHL Hartford, he posted five goals and two assists in 15 games.

  • Rangers' Justin Dowling: Hits waivers

Dowling was put on waivers Tuesday, according to James Mirtle of The Athletic.

Dowling played primarily for AHL Hartford in the 2025-26 campaign, recording nine goals and 29 points in 46 regular-season games. He will head back to the Rangers' top minor-league affiliate if he goes unclaimed.

  • Jake O'Brien C | SEA

    Kraken's Jake O'Brien: Deemed day-to-day

O'Brien (lower body) will not practice Tuesday and is considered day-to-day.

After a strong performance to open the 2026-27 preseason by recording a pair of points, O'Brien will stay in street clothes during Tuesday's practice. The 19-year-old center was incredibly effective with OHL Brandford last season, where he posted 28 goals and 93 points across 53 regular-season outings. While he's on the fringe of making Seattle's Opening Night roster, he holds a high ceiling and will continue to battle for a spot in the Kraken's forward core.
