  • Flames' Jonathan Huberdeau: Lands on IR

Huberdeau (hip) was placed on injured reserve Monday, per Pat Steinberg of QR Calgary 770 AM.

Huberdeau missed the final 26 games of the 2025-26 regular season. He won't be available at the beginning of the 2026-27 campaign, and it's unclear when he will be available to return.

  • Flyers' Denver Barkey: Moves to IR

Barkey (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Monday.

Barkey is eligible to be activated whenever he is healthy, but he will likely miss the start of the 2026-27 campaign. He generated five goals, 17 points, 43 shots on net and 43 hits in 43 regular-season appearances for Philadelphia in 2025-26.

  • Lightning's Yanni Gourde: Lands on non-roster list

Gourde (hip) was placed on the injured non-roster list Monday.

Gourde won't be available to play until at least December after having offseason hip surgery. He contributed 19 assists, 28 points, 114 shots on net, 115 hits and 66 PIM in 82 regular-season games with Tampa Bay in 2025-26.

  • Lightning's Dominic James: Placed on non-roster injured reserve

The Lightning placed James (hand) on non-roster injured reserve Monday.

James entered training camp with a broken hand and was expected to miss the first two weeks of the regular season, so his move to non-roster injured reserve isn't surprising. Conor Geekie and Scott Sabourin are candidates to see increased time in the lineup early in the year while James is sidelined.

  • Lightning's Benjamin Rautiainen: Loaned to Finnish club

Rautiainen was loaned to Tappara of Finland's Liiga on Monday, Diandra Loux of The Hockey News reports.

Rautiainen notched 25 goals and 77 points in 59 games for Tappara during the 2025-26 regular season. He has already scored one goal in one appearance with the club this campaign.

  • Penguins' Blake Lizotte: Upgraded to day-to-day

Lizotte (upper body) was labeled day-to-day ahead of Opening Night against the Flyers on Wednesday, Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site reports.

Lizotte could still be activated in time to face Philadelphia, considering his designation for IR was retroactive to Sept. 19. Getting the 28-year-old forward back would be a huge win for the Penguins, as there are several forwards that have been deemed week-to-week, including Bryan Rust (upper body) and Ben Kindel (lower body).

  • Tristan Broz C | PIT

Penguins' Tristan Broz: Named to non-roster injured reserve

Broz (lower body) was designated for non-roster, injured reserve Monday.

Broz made his NHL debut last season, logging one game for Pittsburgh in which he notched two shots in 11:30 of ice time. The 23-year-old winger seemed to be trying to force his way into the Penguins' Opening Night roster, but this injury will likely mean he has to start the 2026-27 season in the minors once he is given the all-clear.

  • Tyson Jost C | NSH

Predators' Tyson Jost: Inks one-year deal

Jost signed a one-year, two-way contract with Nashville on Monday.

According to PuckPedia, Jost was placed on waivers Monday. The 28-year-old Jost attended training camp with the Predators on a professional tryout agreement. He will remain with the organization after posting eight goals, 16 points, 95 shots on net, 31 blocked shots and 67 hits in 69 regular-season appearances for Nashville in 2025-26.

  • Maple Leafs' Dakota Joshua: Deemed week-to-week

Joshua (abdomen) is week-to-week, per Mark Masters of TSN on Monday.

Joshua has been skating at practices recently, but his lingering core muscle injury is expected to result in a long-term absence. He collected 10 goals, 18 points, 52 shots on net, 32 blocked shots, 195 hits and 49 PIM in 55 appearances for Toronto during the 2025-26 regular season.

  • Oilers' Josh Samanski: Sent down Monday

Samanski was loaned to AHL Bakersfield on Monday.

Samanski was slated to compete for a checking-line center role during training camp, but he'll be left off the Opening Night roster while Owen Michaels remains with the NHL club ahead of the regular season. Samanski made 24 regular-season appearances with the Oilers last year, recording two goals, two assists, 27 hits, 14 blocked shots and six PIM while averaging 10:33 of ice time.
