  • Adam Lowry C | WPG

Jets' Adam Lowry: Produces pair of assists in overtime loss

Lowry logged two assists, two shots on goal, three hits and two blocked shots in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Bruins.

Lowry is starting the year as the third-line center, though he'll also function as a security blanket if rookie Viggo Bjorck isn't able to handle second-line duties. Lowry is a quality middle-six forward -- he had finished between 34 and 36 points in each regular season from 2022-23 to 2024-25 before dipping to 21 points last year. He also adds plenty of hits and a decent share of blocked shots. His fantasy utility depends on the categories in play, but he should be able to bounce back a bit in 2026-27.

  • James Hagens C | BOS

Bruins' James Hagens: Nets first NHL goal

Hagens scored a goal and added two hits in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Jets.

Hagens tallied his first NHL goal in the first period to put the Bruins ahead 2-1. The 19-year-old is attempting to stick at the NHL level this year, working in a third-line capacity. He's added two shots on net, two hits and two blocked shots over his first two contests of the year. Since he's a 19-year-old first-round pick, Hagens is eligible to head to the AHL this season under new NHL rules, but it may be better for his development to grow in Boston rather than Providence. Hagens should already be scooped up in dynasty formats, but he's worth keeping track of throughout 2026-27 to see if he can produce enough to help in redraft leagues.

  • Jack Eichel C | LV

Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Garners pair of helpers

Eichel logged two assists, including one on the power play, and added two shots on net in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Ducks.

Eichel has had no trouble getting up to speed with five points, four shots and a plus-1 rating over two games this season. He had a hand in goals by Shea Theodore and Tomas Hertl in the third period of Friday's contest. Eichel's top-line usage and his power-play role make him one of the most reliable non-elite centers in the NHL, so he can be kept in fantasy lineups with confidence throughout the year.

  • Tomas Hertl C | LV

Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Lights lamp on power play

Hertl scored a power-play goal on five shots and blocked two shots in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Ducks.

While Hertl is centering the third line to begin the year, his spot on the first power-play unit should help his offense. The 32-year-old center has a goal, nine shots, three hits, two blocked and a plus-2 rating over two contests. Hertl fell short of the 60-point mark last year with 24 goals and 34 assists over 82 regular-season games, but he still does enough to be a quality fantasy forward.

  • Leo Carlsson C | ANA

Ducks' Leo Carlsson: One of each Friday

Carlsson scored a goal and added an assist in Friday's 4-3 win over the Golden Knights.

The $90 million man was the only Duck with a multi-point effort Friday. Carlsson's new contract means expectations have skyrocketed, but after posting 29 goals and 38 assists over 70 regular-season games last year, he should be able to find another level on offense. Carlsson is likely to be unleashed in full as an all-situations forward this year, and while it may take some time for him to live up to the number on his paycheck, he's more than good enough to help a fantasy roster.

  • Blues' Mason McTavish: Strikes early in win

McTavish scored a goal on three shots and added two hits in Friday's 4-0 win over the Stars.

McTavish's first goal as a Blue came just 1:34 into his team debut. The 23-year-old was traded from the Ducks in June, and he'll have a fresh start on a team where there are fewer high-end prospects to block his path. McTavish has logged at least 40 points in all four of his full-length campaigns in the NHL, and with a second-line role in St. Louis, he's in a position where that level of production should be his floor this year.

  • Pius Suter C | STL

Blues' Pius Suter: Puts up pair of points

Suter scored an empty-net goal on four shots, supplied an assist, went plus-2 and added four hits in Friday's 4-0 win over the Stars.

Suter opened the season on the fourth line, logging 14:25 of ice time. As a penalty-killing forward, he'll likely draw a bit more ice time than the usual fourth-liner, especially if he can chip in a bit of offense. The 30-year-old is also in a contract year, so he'll be motivated to get back to the 46-point form he showed in 2024-25 with the Canucks rather than last season's 29-point performance over 64 games. Suter can be left on the waiver wire in most fantasy formats, though that could change if he carves out middle-six minutes.

  • Bruins' Elias Lindholm: Scores late equalizer Friday

Lindholm scored a goal on five shots in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Jets.

Lindholm came through with Boston's season-opening winning streak in jeopardy, redirecting David Pastrnak's shot past Stuart Skinner with 1:38 remaining in regulation. The Bruins had pulled Jeremy Swayman for an extra attacker and called timeout immediately before the tying tally. Lindholm generated five shots during the contest, matching Peterka for the team lead, before Boston completed the comeback in overtime. Lindholm has one goal and one assist in his first two outings of the campaign.

  • Avalanche's Beckett Hamilton: Collects three points

Hamilton scored a goal on four shots and added two assists in WHL Red Deer's 4-2 win over Saskatoon on Friday.

Hamilton is thriving early in the WHL campaign, earning five goals and three assists over four games. He's also won more than half of his faceoff attempts in each game. Hamilton is a third-round pick of the Avalanche, and he'll have a chance to be one of the WHL's most prolific producers this year.

  • Red Wings' Sheldon Dries: Tallies twice for Griffins

Dries scored two goals in AHL Grand Rapids' 5-2 win over Cleveland on Friday.

Dries has logged at least 40 points in four of the last five AHL regular seasons. The forward is off to another good start this year, though it's expected the 32-year-old will serve as a veteran leader with the Griffins rather than a call-up option for the Red Wings. He made five appearances for Detroit in 2025-26.
