Tavares (lower body) was placed on injured reserve, per the NHL media site.
Tavares was already labeled as week-to-week, so this doesn't impact his timetable. He sustained the injury during Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to Buffalo. Tavares has two goals and seven points in seven appearances with Toronto in 2026-27. Nick Paul is likely to center the second line during Tavares' absence.
