Deatrich Wise Jr. DE | WAS
Commanders' Deatrich Wise: Inks new deal with Washington
The Commanders re-signed Wise (quadriceps) to a one-year contract Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Wise was slated to become a free agent next week, but he's sticking in Washington after appearing in just two games last season before suffering a season-ending quadriceps injury in Week 2 against the Packers. Wise will turn 32 years old in July and has 34.0 career sacks across nine seasons.

Jonathan Allen DE | CIN
Vikings' Jonathan Allen: Slated to be released
The Vikings are expected to release Allen in the coming days, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Allen inked a three-year, $51 million deal with the Vikings last offseason, but Minnesota is way over the salary cap and needs to make cost-cutting moves. In releasing Allen, Minnesota would clear $6.5 million in cap space but also retain more than $17.3 million in dead money. In his lone season with the Vikings, Allen started all 17 regular-season contests, recording a career-high 68 tackles (29 solo), including 3.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery on 76 percent of the defensive snaps.

Jake Bates K | DET
Lions' Jake Bates: Receives ERFA tender
The Lions placed an exclusive rights free-agent tender on Bates on Wednesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
While Bates wasn't nearly as effective in 2025 as he was as a 2024 rookie, he still converted 27 of 34 field-goal attempts and a league-high 54 PATs on 56 tries. Through two seasons, Bates has made 84 percent of his field-goal tries and 96 percent of his extra points. He figures to be busy again next season in Detroit's high-powered offense.

Jalen Redmond DL | MIN
Vikings' Jalen Redmond: Tendered by Minnesota
The Vikings placed an exclusive rights free-agent tender on Redmond on Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Redmond will be back with Minnesota for the 2026 campaign after having a breakout second season with the Vikings. He started 15 of 17 regular-season contests in 2025 and recorded 62 tackles (33 solo), including 6.0 sacks, five pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble on 74 percent of the defensive snaps.

Jamari Thrash WR | CLE
Browns' Jamari Thrash: Receives tender from Cleveland
The Browns placed an exclusive rights free-agent tender on Thrash on Wednesday.
For the second straight season, Thrash appeared in nine regular-season contests during the 2025 campaign, finishing with 10 catches for 107 yards on 15 targets. With a new coaching staff in town for the Browns, Thrash will again need to compete for a job this summer.

Malachi Corley WR | CLE
Browns' Malachi Corley: Tendered by Cleveland
Cleveland placed an exclusive rights free-agent tender on Corley on Wednesday.
After being cut by the Jets following the preseason, Corley latched on with the Browns and appeared in 13 regular-season games last season. Corley logged 194 offensive snaps and caught 11 of 14 targets for 79 yards while adding 127 rushing yards on 13 carries. Corley will compete for a job under new coach Todd Monken this offseason.

Brycen Tremayne WR | CAR
Panthers' Brycen Tremayne: Receives ERFA tender
The Panthers placed an exclusive rights free-agent tender on Tremayne on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Tremayne will return to Carolina after securing 14 of 18 targets for 160 scoreless yards across 16 regular-season appearances during the 2025 campaign. In addition to his role as a depth wideout, Tremayne was a fixture on special teams for Carolina, logging 230 snaps in kick coverage.

Jonnu Smith TE | PIT
Jonnu Smith: Released by Pittsburgh
The Steelers released Smith on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Following a career year with the Dolphins in 2024 in which he caught 88 of 111 targets for 884 yards and eight touchdowns, Smith was reunited with OC Arthur Smith in Pittsburgh via trade last offseason. Despite the familiarity, Smith found himself in a three- and four-way committee at tight end with the Steelers and never seemed to gel with Aaron Rodgers. Across 17 regular-season games, Smith caught just 38 of 54 targets for 222 yards and two scores. He'll likely be looking for a team with a less crowded depth chart. The move saves Pittsburgh $7 million against the salary cap.

Benjamin Morrison CB | TB
Buccaneers' Benjamin Morrison: Leg issues shorten rookie season
Morrison totaled 26 tackles (19 solo), four defensed passes and one fumble recovery across 10 regular-season games in 2025.
Morrison's NFL debut was delayed until Week 2 due to a quadriceps injury, while hamstring issues, which also wiped out his entire preseason, cost him another five games. The 2025 second-round pick did get back on the field for the last three games of the regular season after his final set of absences, finishing in solid form with 13 tackles (eight solo), a pass defensed and a fumble recovery in that span. With a healthy offseason and preseason, Morrison could certainly make a push for a much larger role in 2026 after averaging 35.9 defensive snaps per contest as a rookie.
