  • Jaylen Waddle WR | DEN

Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Still in protocol, will practice

Coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that Waddle remains in the concussion protocol but will practice in some capacity, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.

Waddle is making tangible progress through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, but he will need to attain full clearance in order to suit up for Sunday's contest against the Broncos. Based on his return to practice Friday, though, he at least has a chance to be back on the field Week 3. If Waddle can't go this weekend, Braxton Berrios, River Cracraft and Erik Ezukanma will see added opportunities behind Tyreek Hill.

  • Ravens' Odell Beckham: Misses another practice

Beckham (ankle) remained sidelined at practice Friday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

Beckham wasn't able to practice Wednesday and Thursday, either, which clouds his status for Sunday's game against the Colts. The Ravens' looming injury report will confirm whether Beckham heads into the weekend with a chance to play Week 3 or is ruled out versus Indianapolis.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: On the right track

Coach Dan Campbell said Friday he feels "pretty good" about St. Brown (toe) playing Sunday against the Falcons, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.

St. Brown likely will be listed as questionable on the final injury report and seems to have better odds than the team's other injured starters. Out of the five starters that missed practice Wednesday, only St. Brown was able to return Thursday, albeit as a limited participant.

  • Jakobi Meyers WR | JAC

Raiders' Jakobi Meyers: Clear of concussion protocol

Meyes (concussion) has fully cleared the NFL's five-step protocol for brain injuries, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN reports.

Meyers practiced in full Thursday and looks fully on track for Sunday night's matchup against the Steelers. The No. 2 wideout sat out Week 2 due to a hit sustained during the Raiders' regular-season opener, a game in which he secured nine of ten targets for 81 yards and two scores prior to departing. Meyers retaking the field alongside Davante Adams will bode well for Jimmy Garoppolo's odds of finding success through the air versus Pittsburgh's secondary.

  • Giants' Wan'Dale Robinson: Four catches in season debut

Robinson (knee) secured four of five targets for 21 yards in the Giants' 30-12 loss to the 49ers on Thursday night.

Logging his first game action since Week 11 of last season, Robinson was able to record a solid catch total despite Daniel Jones' quiet night. The second-year pro's reception tally was second only to that of Parris Campbell's for the Giants in the contest, and Robinson should have a chance to serve as one of the top downfield threats in New York's air attack as the season unfolds and his knee gets back to full strength.

  • Darius Slayton WR | NYG

Giants' Darius Slayton: Leads team with modest yardage

Slayton secured three of six targets for 32 yards in the Giants' 30-12 loss to the 49ers on Thursday night.

Slayton's yardage total, modest as it was, set the pace for the Giants on the night, and he also tied with Parris Campbell and Darren Waller for the team lead in targets. The veteran speedster also recorded the second-longest catch of the night for New York (17 yards), but like the rest of the team's air attack, he was victimized by Daniel Jones' mediocre play. Slayton has three catches apiece in each of his first three contests, a number he'll look to improve on against a vulnerable Seahawks secondary in a Week 4 home matchup on Monday night, Oct. 2.

  • Deebo Samuel WR | WAS

49ers' Deebo Samuel: Thrives without Aiyuk in win

Samuel brought in six of 12 targets for 129 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for two yards in the 49ers' 30-12 win over the Giants on Thursday night.

With fellow wideout Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder) sidelined, Samuel took full advantage and paced the 49ers in receiving yards and targets on the night. The versatile fifth-year pro has upped his receiving yardage total over that of the prior game in each of the last two contests, and he recorded his first receiving touchdown of the campaign via a 27-yard scoring grab with 5:58 remaining that sealed the win for San Francisco. Samuel struggled with injury last season, but his 17-247-1 line through the air and 8-48-1 tally on the ground through three games offer a reminder of what he's capable of when his health is clicking on all cylinders. Samuel next takes aim at the Cardinals in a Week 4 home matchup a week from Sunday.

  • 49ers' Ray-Ray McCloud: Getting starting nod

McCloud is lining up with the 49ers' starting offense Thursday against the Giants, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.

Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder) is sidelined for the game and Jauan Jennings was expected to step into the starting offensive unit. However, it appears that McCloud will instead get the first look, though Johnson should rotate in at times.

  • DK Metcalf WR | PIT

Seahawks' DK Metcalf: Second straight DNP to begin week

Metcalf (ribs) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

For most players, back-to-back absences to kick off the week wouldn't be a great sign for a player's upcoming availability, but coach Pete Carroll relayed to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune on Monday that Metcalf likely would "need a couple days" in order to recover from the rib injury he sustained Week 2 at Detroit. In any case, Metcalf will have one more chance this week to mix into drills before potentially getting a designation for Sunday's contest against the Panthers.

  • Giants' Wan'Dale Robinson: Making season debut Thursday

Robinson (knee) is listed as active Thursday at San Francisco.

Robinson thus will be making his first appearance since tearing the ACL in his right knee Week 11 of last season. Considering he's been listed as limited on all nine of the Giants' practice reports to kick off the campaign, he likely will play second fiddle to Parris Campbell out of the slot Thursday. Still, Robinson will be among New York's active wide receivers along with Darius Slayton, Isaiah Hodgins, Campbell, Jalin Hyatt and Sterling Shepard.
