  • Britain Covey WR | PHI

    Eagles' Britain Covey: Enters protocols

Covey suffered a head injury late in Sunday's win over the Commanders and has entered the league's concussion protocols, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Covey will need to clear the league's five-step process to be able to suit up Week 5 against the Rams, which will likely be a tall task for the Utah product. Assuming he is unable to play, Boston Scott and Olamide Zaccheaus will be candidates to handle return duties on the road against the Rams on Sunday.

  • Hunter Renfrow WR | CAR

Raiders' Hunter Renfrow: Season-high four targets in loss

Renfrow caught two passes for 12 yards on four targets in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Chargers.

Renfrow doubled his previous season high in targets with four looks from fill-in starter Aidan O'Connell on Sunday, but the former has caught just five total passes for 52 yards through the Raiders' first four contests. As the offense continues to revolve around Josh Jacobs, Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers, Renfrow's lack of significant production could continue against the Packers in Week 5.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Will have role Week 5

Lions head coach Dan Campbell suggested Monday that he anticipates Williams (suspension) filling a role in Sunday's game against the Panthers, though the receiver may not see a heavy snap count in his season debut, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports. "We'll see where it goes, and it's all about improvement," Campbell said of Williams.

Williams had been in line to serve a six-game suspension to begin the season after receiving the ban in April for violating the NFL's gambling policy, but he'll wind up missing just four contests after the league and players union agreed last week to revise the policy. Before the revised policy was announced, Williams was eligible to return to the Lions' facility last week, and he'll now be able to take part in practices for the first time since the preseason. Williams was limited to just six games during his rookie season while he recovered from an ACL tear suffered in college, and he ended up missing out on some meaningful reps in this past preseason when he pulled his right hamstring in a mid-August practice. The 22-year-old seemingly moved past the injury while he was serving his suspension, but he's not expected to be a full-time player for the Lions Week 5 while he gets himself reacquainted with a regular practice and playing schedule. Though injuries and the suspension have conspired to slow down his development thus far, the No. 12 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft is a skilled prospect who should have a good chance at claiming a top-three role in a Detroit receiver group that's lacking in high-end talent beyond No. 1 option Amon-Ra St. Brown.

  • Rakim Jarrett WR | PIT

Buccaneers' Rakim Jarrett: One catch in Week 4 win

Jarrett brought in his only target for three yards in the Buccaneers' 26-9 win over the Saints on Sunday.

Jarrett's 13 snaps from scrimmage represented his second-highest allotment of the first four games of his career, with Mike Evans' early exit due to a hamstring injury playing a part in the uptick in opportunity. Jarrett remains firmly in the No. 5 receiver role when the position is at full health, but if Evans is unable to recover sufficiently during the Week 5 bye to return for a Week 6 matchup against the Lions, Jarrett would bump up a notch in the pecking order for that contest.

  • Brandin Cooks WR | BUF

Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Four grabs against Pats

Cooks caught all four of his targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 38-3 win over the Patriots.

The four grabs were a season high for the veteran wideout, who continues to be a victim of the Cowboys' success on the defensive side of the ball. With Dak Prescott not needing to stretch the field or air it out too much, Cooks hasn't had a big role. That could change Week 5 in what figures to be a much more competitive game against the undefeated 49ers.

  • Jalen Tolbert WR | MIA

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Makes impact in Sunday's rout

Tolbert caught all four of his targets for 53 yards in Sunday's 38-3 win over the Patriots.

The catches and receiving yards were career highs for the second-year wideout, but Tolbert made his biggest impact on special teams, laying out punt returner Demario Douglas at New England's 10-yard line with a huge hit early in the second quarter while the outcome of the game was still in doubt. With the Pats pinned deep, Mac Jones got sacked two plays later and coughed up a fumble that Leighton Vander Esch returned to the house. Tolbert is still stuck behind CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks and Michael Gallup on the Cowboys' WR depth chart, giving him little fantasy value in most formats, but should an injury open up more snaps and targets for the 24-year-old, he seems ready to seize the opportunity.

  • Cowboys' KaVontae Turpin: Breaks long gain in Sunday's rout

Turpin gained 46 rushing yards on his only carry, caught his only target for five yards and added 13 yards on two punt returns in Sunday's 38-3 win over the Patriots.

The second-year gadget player nearly took a jet sweep to the end zone early in the fourth quarter, but Turpin got caught from behind and fumbled the ball in the red zone. Fortunately for Turpin, tight end Sean McKeon was able recover it. Turpin has seen only five touches on offense over the last three weeks, but with No. 2 running back Rico Dowdle (hip) potentially set to miss some time, he could see more work out of the backfield alongside rookie Deuce Vaughn. Turpin's big-play ability isn't likely to show up Week 5 against an elite 49ers defense, however.

  • Mecole Hardman WR | BUF

Jets' Mecole Hardman: Another goose egg

Hardman wasn't targeted in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Chiefs.

Hardman barely saw the field once again, as the Jets continue to trot out Randall Cobb as their primary slot receiver. New York also got rookie speedster Xavier Gipson involved on a couple of jet sweeps. With Gipson now being used in the gadget role previously envisioned for Hardman, the former Kansas City wideout will likely continue to ride the pine until further notice.

  • Randall Cobb WR | NYJ

Jets' Randall Cobb: Four targets in Week 4

Cobb caught two of four targets for eight yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Chiefs.

Cobb's four targets matched his total from his first three games with the Jets. With just three catches for 20 yards on the season, Cobb's a fantasy non-entity despite getting the third-most playing time among New York's wide receivers behind Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard.

  • Xavier Gipson WR | NYG

Jets' Xavier Gipson: Earning role on offense

Gipson caught his only target for four yards and rushed twice for 13 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Chiefs.

Gipson earned the first three touches on offense of his NFL career. The rookie out of Stephen F. Austin has shown impressive elusiveness as a return man on special teams, so the Jets are starting to draw up some plays to get Gipson the ball in space on offense as well. He added a 22-yard kickoff return and 11-yard punt return in the SNF loss.
