Justin Watson WR | HOU
Chiefs' Justin Watson: Returns to practice
Watson (foot) is participating in practice Sunday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Watson injured his foot during practice July 24 and missed several days of training camp, but he's back on the field Sunday. That confirms initial reports that the receiver's foot issue wouldn't sideline him long-term. Watson is looking to establish himself as a top-4 option among Kansas City's receiving corps after setting career-high marks with 27 catches for 460 yards and three touchdowns over 16 regular-season games last year.

Parris Campbell WR | DAL
Eagles' Parris Campbell: Sidelined with groin injury
Campbell isn't practicing Sunday due to a groin issue, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.
The severity of the injury isn't clear but may be addressed by head coach Nick Sirianni following practice. It could be detrimental to Campbell's position in the wideout pecking order if he's forced to miss significant time in camp, as Sirianni previously stated that the No. 3 receiver role for the coming campaign is an open competition. Campbell is trying to rebound from a rough season with the Giants last year in which he caught 20 passes for only 104 yards and no touchdowns over 12 games.

David Bell WR | CLE
Browns' David Bell: Battling for roster
Bell is in the mix for a roster spot with two wideouts drafted the last two years, Patrick Warren of the Browns' official site reports.
Bell left a positive image in the mind of head coach Kevin Stefanski with a diving touchdown catch to end Friday's practice, the Browns' final session at The Greenbriar in West Virginia before heading back to Ohio to finish out training camp. "He has done a nice job, including that last play there," Stefanski said. "That's a really, really impressive catch to end that drill. He's a guy that has proven to be very, very dependable for our football team." Bell's experience on special teams may be valuable to him winning a roster spot. He's competing with Cedric Tillman (third round, 2023) and Jamari Thrash (fifth round, 2024) to fill out the position. The Browns carried six wideouts on their initial 53-man roster last year, so all three could have a home in 2024.

Bryce Ford-Wheaton WR | NYG
Giants' Bryce Ford-Wheaton: Hyperextends knee
Ford-Wheaton hyperextended his knee at Friday's practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
There is no word on the severity of Ford-Wheaton's injury at this time. A return to training camp sooner than later would be beneficial for the young pass catcher, as he is competing against a plethora of receivers for a spot on the 53-man roster. He spent his entire rookie campaign on New York's injured reserve due to an ACL tear. It is unclear if this current injury is to the same knee.

Rashid Shaheed WR | SEA
Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sidelined by hamstring issue
Shaheed missed practice Saturday due to hamstring tightness, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Head coach Dennis Allen didn't seem overly concerned about the injury, which was characterized as hamstring tightness, saying that the team hopes to get Shaheed back on the field Sunday. The wideout is slated to be an important player for the Saints during the coming season, as he's expected to again work as the team's lead kick and punt returner in addition to functioning as the No. 2 receiver.

Tyreek Hill WR | MIA
Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Restructures contract
Hill agreed with the Dolphins on Saturday on a restructured contract worth $90 million, including $65 million in guaranteed money, over the next three years, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The restructured contract doesn't add any additional years to Hill's tenure in Miami, but it does expand his guaranteed money over four years to $106.5 million, the most by a receiver in NFL history. The agreement comes on the heels of two huge seasons by Hill for the Dolphins, as he's averaged 119 catches for 1,755 yards and 10 touchdowns in the pair of regular-season campaigns since he joined the organization in 2022. Miami also worked out extensions for WR Jaylen Waddle and QB Tua Tagovailoa over the past few months, ensuring that the dynamic trio will stay together for the foreseeable future in a quest to lead the Dolphins to their first NFL title since 1974.

Jauan Jennings WR | MIN
49ers' Jauan Jennings: Back at practice Saturday
Jennings (ankle) is in uniform and participating in practice Saturday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Jennings was limited to side work during Friday's practice, but his ankle injury appears to have been minor, and he's back working with the team Saturday. The wideout is slated to function as San Francisco's No. 3 receiver during the 2024 season, though he could be pushed for that role by rookie Ricky Pearsall.

Jermaine Jackson WR | NO
Jermaine Jackson: Gets let go
Jackson was waived/injured by the Saints on Saturday with an undisclosed injury, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Jackson signed with New Orleans as an undrafted free agent in April. It is unclear what specific injury led to this transaction. If he ultimately goes unclaimed while on waivers, the pass catcher would revert to the Saints' injured reserve. From there, his season would be over unless both parties can come to an injury settlement down the line.

Xavier Hutchinson WR | HOU
Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: Impresses coach
Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans on Friday praised Hutchinson's performance in Thursday's preseason game, Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston reports. "Hutch did a really nice job," Ryans said. "Had a good feel for the football, really liked where he was going. He made some really nice plays for us."
Hutchinson paced Houston's receivers, catching five of six targets for 56 yards against the Bears. There's a crowd of wideouts looking for the final spots behind the Texans' top three, and Hutchinson's effort at least puts him ahead of John Metchie and on par with Ben Skowronek. It's unclear where Hutchinson sits in relation to Noah Brown (undisclosed) and Robert Woods, both of whom did not play Thursday.

John Metchie III WR | CAR
Texans' John Metchie: Coach looking for response
Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said Friday that he wants to see how Metchie responds after a quiet preseason game Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston reports.
Metchie caught one of two targets for four yards after an impressive start to training camp. The coach believes Metchie didn't play with the same speed and decisiveness as seen when he showed up at camp, but Ryans said he's not reading too much into one game. "I just put a lot into how guys respond the next time," Ryans said. For now, Metchie has fallen behind Xavier Hutchinson and Ben Skowronek.
