  • Jayden Reed WR | GB

Packers' Jayden Reed: Sits out practice Wednesday

Reed didn't practice Wednesday due to a calf injury.

Reed showed up on the Packers' Week 2 injury report Friday as a limited participant due to calf and shin issues, but a questionable designation didn't stop him from suiting up this past Sunday against the Colts. A run-heavy game plan and a lesser snap share (56 percent) somewhat capped his production, but he still turned his four touches into 46 yards from scrimmage. With an absence from practice under his belt to begin this week, Reed's status will be one to monitor in the coming days to get a sense of his potential to play Sunday at Tennessee.

  • Rome Odunze WR | CHI

Bears' Rome Odunze: Limited in practice Wednesday

Odunze (knee) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday.

Odunze was capped to one limited session last week before the Bears deemed him questionable for this past Sunday's game at Houston. He ended up suiting up while fellow wide receiver Keenan Allen (heel) did not, but despite playing 66 of 70 offensive snaps, Odunze had just two catches (on five targets) for 33 yards. Odunze's limited session Wednesday indicates he's still dealing with the MCL sprain that he picked up Week 1, but he at least was able to mix into drills unlike Allen, who once again didn't practice.

  • Deebo Samuel WR | WAS

49ers' Deebo Samuel: Not practicing Wednesday

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Samuel (calf) won't practice Wednesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.

Samuel's absence to begin Week 3 prep comes as no surprise after Shanahan relayed Monday that the wideout was slated to miss "a couple" games due to the strained right calf that he suffered late in this past Sunday's loss at Minnesota, per Matt Barrows of The Athletic. Samuel thus is destined to be ruled out by week's end ahead of Sunday's road matchup with the Rams. Jauan Jennings is poised to jump into the starting lineup alongside Brandon Aiyuk during Samuel's absence, while Chris Conley, Ronnie Bell and Jacob Cowing are the other healthy wide receivers in the 49ers' active roster.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Not on injury report

Austin (undisclosed) was not listed on Wednesday's injury report.

Austin spent time in the blue medical tent late during Sunday's win over the Broncos, but he isn't carrying an official injury as Week 3 practice kicks off. In addition to returning five punts for 27 yards versus Denver, Austin reeled in one of two targets for six yards. He'll fill a depth role at receiver for Pittsburgh in Week 3 against the Chargers.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Logs full practice Wednesday

St. Brown (quadricep) was a full participant in practice Wednesday.

St. Brown departed this past Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers in the waning moments due to a leg contusion and cramping. Head coach Dan Campbell told Richard Silva of The Detroit News on Monday that St. Brown "will be good," and the wide receiver's activity level to begin Week 3 prep supports that notion. St. Brown thus is on track to play Sunday at Arizona.

  • Roman Wilson WR | PIT

Steelers' Roman Wilson: Logs another limited practice

Wilson (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.

Wilson, a rookie third-round pick, continues to work his way back from an ankle injury sustained in training camp. Head coach Mike Tomlin said Wednesday he was "pleased with (Wilson's) progress last week," so the receiver looks to be making progress on some level. Wilson will work to gain clearance to make his NFL debut Sunday versus the Chargers.

  • Josh Downs WR | IND

Colts' Josh Downs: Practices in full, poised to play

Downs (ankle) was a full practice participant Wednesday and appears set to suit up Sunday versus Chicago.

Downs said earlier Wednesday that he intends to make his 2024 debut versus the Bears, and his ability to handle a full allotment of practice reps to begin Week 3 prep seemingly confirms as much. The 2023 third-round pick had been sidelined due to a high-ankle sprain since early August, but he was close to returning Week 2. Now healthy, Downs will mix in with Alec Pierce and Adonai Mitchell in a Colts wide receiver corps led by Michael Pittman.

  • Miles Boykin WR | CHI

Miles Boykin: Joins Seahawks' practice squad

The Seahawks signed Boykin to their practice squad Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

Boykin was cut from the Giants' practice squad at the beginning of September, but he's now found a new opportunity in Seattle. The 2019 third-round pick's most recent in-game action came with the Steelers in 2023, when he appeared in 17 regular-season games, playing primarily on special teams (314 snaps).

  • Josh Palmer WR | BUF

Chargers' Joshua Palmer: Dealing with new injuries

Palmer didn't practice Wednesday due to elbow and calf injuries.

Palmer is listed with a new pair of injuries after being questionable last week due to a problem with his knee. He ended up playing in Sunday's 26-3 win over the Panthers, catching both of his targets for 19 yards while playing only 41 percent of snap on offense. It's possible his role will be scaled back again if he ends up playing this Sunday at Pittsburgh.

  • Kadarius Toney WR | CLE

    Kadarius Toney: Still not practicing

Toney (undisclosed) will not practice with the Browns this week, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

Toney signed with Cleveland's practice squad Sept. 9 but has been out of action with the injury since Sept. 11 and will seemingly remain out until at least next week. It's not yet clear what plans the Browns have for the former Chiefs wideout, but he'll need to get healthy first, to earn a spot on their 53-man roster.
