  • Commanders' Brian Robinson: Not seen at practice Thursday

Robinson (knee) wasn't spotted at the open portion of Thursday's practice, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.

If Robinson ends up being a non-participant for a second straight session, he'll have just one more day to test out the health of his knee before the Commanders potentially make a ruling on his status for Sunday's game against the Browns. Fellow RB Austin Ekeler is working his way through the concussion protocol, so Jeremy McNichols is the only healthy player at the position on the active roster, while Chris Rodriguez, Michael Wiley and Kazmeir Allen are the options on the practice squad.

  • Dameon Pierce RB | PHI

Texans' Dameon Pierce: Misses another practice

Pierce (hamstring) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Fellow RB Joe Mixon (ankle) also wasn't practicing for a second consecutive day, which clouds the duo's status as Sunday's game against the Bills approaches. If neither of them are available this weekend, Cam Akers once again would be in line to lead Houston's backfield, with Dare Ogunbowale, British Brooks and practice squad member J.J. Taylor also in the mix versus Buffalo.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Texans' Joe Mixon: Still not practicing

Mixon (ankle) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.

The same applies to fellow RB Dameon Pierce (hamstring), according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston. The duo's continued absence from practice sets the stage for Friday's session to loom large with regard to both player's chances of playing Sunday against the Bills. For his part, coach DeMeco Ryans has maintained that Mixon is "day-to-day" ahead of Week 5 action, per Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle. For now, Houston's top healthy backfield option is Cam Akers, who has started the team's last two contests.

  • Giants' Devin Singletary: Sitting out another practice

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that Singletary (groin) won't practice Thursday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Singletary has now opened Week 5 prep with consecutive absences from practice, though the running back told Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com prior to Thursday's session that he believes he has a chance to play Sunday in Seattle. In order to make that a reality, however, Singletary will likely need to take the field in some fashion Friday for the Giants' final Week 5 practice. If Singletary is a limited participant in that session, he would still likely carry a questionable designation into Sunday.

  • Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Not expected to practice Thursday

Taylor, who continues to deal with an ankle sprain, isn't likely to practice Thursday, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.

The Colts' upcoming injury report will reveal whether Taylor-- who also didn't practice Wednesday -- indeed is deemed a non-participant for the second day in a row. If that ends up being the case, he'll have one more opportunity to practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Per Nate Atkins of The Indianapolis Star, Taylor relayed Thursday that his current ankle issue is not as severe as the one that he contended with during the 2022 season.

  • Tyler Badie RB | DEN

Broncos' Tyler Badie: IR stint possible

Head coach Sean Payton said Wednesday that Badie (back) is "possibly" a candidate for injured reserve, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Badie, who suffered a back injury and was carted off the field in this past Sunday's 10-9 win over the Jets, was the only Broncos player who didn't practice Wednesday. Considering that he may land on IR, Badie looks to be trending toward missing Sunday's game against the Raiders, at the very least. If Badie is out Week 5, Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin would likely pick up most of the snaps out of the Denver backfield.

  • Browns' Nyheim Hines: Puts in limited practice

Hines (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

The Browns received a jolt Wednesday with both Hines and Nick Chubb (knee) back on the practice field. It's unclear if either running back will be ready to help the league's 26th-ranked rushing offense (94.8 yards per game) in time for Sunday's game against Washington, but the presence of Hines and Chubb at practice can be taken as a positive sign. In addition to Hines and Chubb, Pierre Strong (hamstring) was back on the field Wednesday.

  • Zamir White RB | LV

Raiders' Zamir White: Limited practice Wednesday

White was a limited participant at practice Wednesday due to a groin injury, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.

White appears to have sustained the injury during practice, so his status will be worth monitoring closely as Sunday's game against the Broncos approaches. If White is limited or out this weekend, added backfield opportunities will be available for Alexander Mattison, who logged five carries for 60 yards in the Raiders' Week 4 win over the Browns.

  • Ravens' Keaton Mitchell: Not close to returning

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that Mitchell (knee) is "right on schedule" but "isn't close enough yet to talk about," Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

In other words, the Ravens never expected Mitchell to contribute in the first half of the season, hoping instead to get him back later in the campaign. He suffered an ACL tear Week 15 last season and apparently will remain on the PUP list for at least a few more weeks. Harbaugh said that the team expects Mitchell to play at some point in 2024.

  • Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Cleared for practice

Edwards-Helaire (illness) will resume practicing Thursday and should be available for games soon, Ian Rapaport of NFL Network reports.

Edwards-Helaire didn't get much playing time outside of blowouts or clear passing situations last season, but he may take on a larger role now that Isiah Pacheco (fibula) is on injured reserve and likely out until at least November. The Chiefs otherwise have Kareem Hunt, Samaje Perine and Carson Steele as their backfield options ahead of Monday's game against New Orleans, giving Edwards-Helaire a chance to mix in immediately if he checks out fine in practice this week.
