De'Von Achane RB | MIA
Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Not practicing Tuesday
Achane (calf) is not participating in Tuesday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Coach Mike McDaniel said after Miami's preseason game against Jacksonville on Saturday that the team will continue to take a cautious approach to Achane's recovery, but the starting running back is still expected to retake the practice field ahead of the regular-season opener against Indianapolis. The Dolphins may intend for Achane to use this coming week to rest, however. Ollie Gordon is currently the only healthy running back on Miami's roster, with Jaylen Wright (leg) trending in the wrong direction for Week 1, so the team may be motivated to seek additional backfield depth.

Deuce Vaughn RB | DEN
Deuce Vaughn: Cut by Cowboys
Dallas waived Vaughn on Tuesday, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Vaughn, a 2023 fifth-round pick, could be a candidate for the Cowboys' practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers. The presence of veterans Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders (shoulder) atop the backfield depth chart, plus rookie Jaydon Blue (ankle), had always made it unlikely Vaughn would secure a spot on the initial 53-man roster.

JaMycal Hasty RB | NE
JaMycal Hasty: Dumped by New England
The Patriots released Hasty on Tuesday, Mark Daniels of MassLive.com reports.
Hasty signed with the Patriots earlier this month and logged 64 offensive snaps across the final two preseason games, putting together a 22-77-0 rushing line. He turns 29 years old next month.

Carson Steele RB | PHI
Carson Steele: Time up in Kansas City
The Chiefs waived Steele on Tuesday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
Steele's opportunity with the Chiefs ends as the process of cutting down to a 53-man roster begins. As a rookie last season, Steele suited up for all 17 regular-season games and logged 56 carries for 183 yards (3.3 YPC) with zero touchdowns. He also secured seven of 11 targets for 22 yards and fumbled three times, losing two. The hybrid fullback/running back is a capable blocker in pass protection and can contribute on special teams, so he figures to draw interest as a practice squad candidate around the league.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire RB | KC
Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Released by New Orleans
The Saints released Edwards-Helaire on Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Edwards-Helaire played just 33 offensive snaps during the preseason and managed to rush 10 times for just 22 yards. He also caught all three of his targets for 25 yards. It wasn't nearly enough to win a job behind Alvin Kamara, Kendre Miller and rookie Devin Neal.

Israel Abanikanda RB | DAL
Israel Abanikanda: Let go by Green Bay
The Packers waived Abanikanda on Tuesday, Bill Huber of SI.com reports.
Abanikanda put together a solid preseason in Green Bay, but he couldn't push Emanuel Wilson, MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) and Chris Brooks for a depth role behind Josh Jacobs. The Packers could opt to bring Abanikanda back as a member of the practice squad this season, if he doesn't find a role elsewhere.

Pierre Strong Jr. RB | GB
Pierre Strong: Slated to be cut by Browns
The Browns plan to waive Strong (concussion), Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Strong left Saturday's preseason game against the Rams to be evaluated for a concussion, but it's unclear if the running back was subsequently cleared. In any case, as a result of the looming move, the Browns' backfield depth behind Jerome Ford and Dylan Sampson takes a hit, with 2025 second-rounder Quinshon Judkins still unsigned. Undrafted rookie Ahmani Marshall could open the season in the No. 3 role.

Xazavian Valladay RB | MIN
Xazavian Valladay: Cut by Minnesota
The Vikings waived Valladay on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Valladay signed with Minnesota late in camp and played 28 offensive snaps in the final preseason game, rushing eight times for 39 yards. The 27-year-old running back has appeared in one career regular-season contest but has yet to log an NFL rushing attempt.

Marcus Yarns RB | NO
Marcus Yarns: Sent to waivers by Saints
New Orleans waived Yarns on Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Yarns inked with the Saints in April shortly after going undrafted out of Delaware, but he never had a reasonable path to a spot on the 53-man roster due to the team's crowded running back room. He'll look to earn a practice-squad opportunity as a rookie, whether with New Orleans or another club.

Tyjae Spears RB | TEN
Titans' Tyjae Spears: In line to miss at least four games
The Titans plan to place Spears (ankle) on injured reserve, meaning that the running back will be sidelined at least the first four games of the season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Spears -- who suffered a high ankle sprain earlier this month and was spotted in a walking boot this past weekend -- is thus slated to miss time out of the gate this season as a result of the looming transaction, which could occur Tuesday. As a result, Tony Pollard figures to see added touches, while the Titans will likely add depth to a backfield that also includes Julius Chestnut and Kalel Mullings (ankle). At several betting sites, the Titans' over-under for win totals is 5.5.
