  • D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE

Texans' D'Onta Foreman: Limited for second straight day

Foreman (hip) was a limited participant at Thursday's practice, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Foreman had a four-week low with nine snaps and 37 yards from scrimmage during last week's loss to the Chiefs. The Texans have become a more pass-friendly offense with quarterback Deshaun Watson at the helm, so the sleeper opportunities for Foreman have not yet materialized. And it figures we'll see more of the passing offense in Week 6 against the Browns, who are surprisingly stout against the run (2.9 YPA, 2nd in NFL) but 19th against the pass and tied for 29th with 11 passing touchdowns allowed.

  • Matt Jones RB | WAS

Colts' Matt Jones: Full participant in practice

Jones (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday.

Jones was inactive for last Sunday's win over the 49ers due to a knee injury, but his full participation to open the week bodes well for his chances of playing Monday against the Titans. Look for more updates on the reserve back to come throughout the week.

  • Lions' Dwayne Washington: Limited Thursday

Washington (quadriceps) was a limited participant at Thursday's practice.

With two limited practices in a row, Washington seems to be trending in the right direction for Sunday's game against the Saints. Even if he enters the weekend without an injury designation, it isn't clear if he'll immediately recapture duties as the Lions' No. 3 running back, a role which would afford him some short-yardage work. Zach Zenner has filled in in that capacity the last three weeks, recording 16 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.

  • Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Another injunction attempt likely

After the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against Elliott on Thursday, his representatives will likely file another injunction in the Southern District of New York in order to hold off his six-game suspension, The Dallas Morning News reports.

The legal battle surrounding Elliott took another turn, only this time in favor of the NFL after a three-judge panel ruled 2-1 for the latter's argument. With the Cowboys in the midst of their bye week, he's been afforded a bit of time for his representatives and the NFLPA to take the next logical step in New York. If the suspension remains on the books before the new court makes a ruling, it'll run from Sunday, Oct. 22 in San Francisco through the Cowboys' Thanksgiving contest against the Chargers. In the interim, the backfield would be in the hands of Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden.

  • Cowboys' Darren McFadden: Could have role in offense after bye

McFadden could find himself with a role in the Cowboys' offense following the team's Week 6 bye if fellow running back Ezekiel Elliott is forced to begin serving the six-game suspension he was handed by the NFL.

McFadden has been a healthy inactive all season, but if Elliott is ultimately suspended, the Cowboys would likely turn to either him or Alfred Morris as the team's top running back. Morris has been the No. 2 option behind Elliott all season, but McFadden has shown the Cowboys he is capable of handling primary ball-carrier duties, running for over 1,000 yards just two years ago, so the team could decide to look his direction despite the way the depth chart has looked up to this point.

  • Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Suspension reinstated

The 5th circuit court of appeals has ruled against Elliott, and his six-game suspension has been reinstated, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

It's not immediately clear what this means for Elliott, but it appears he will be serving a suspension at some point. Expect Elliott's status to be updated further as more details become available.

  • Marlon Mack RB | ARI

Colts' Marlon Mack: Not on injury report

Mack (elbow) does not appear on the Colts' Week 6 injury report.

Mack logged nine carries for 91 yards and a TD in Week 5's win over the 49ers, spurring hope from those who roster him that an expanded workload might be on tap for the 2017 fourth-rounder. While the strong effort should help keep Mack involved Monday night against the Titans, Bob Kravitz of WTHR.com relays that coach Chuck Pagano views Mack, who has missed some time this season, as a work in progress not quite ready to be an every-down or third-down back. Veteran Frank Gore remains atop the Colts' RB depth chart, with Robert Turbin also in the team's backfield mix.

  • Terrance West RB | BAL

Ravens' Terrance West: Misses another practice

West (left calf) did not practice Thursday, Edward Lee of The Baltimore Sun reports.

With West looking unlikely to play Sunday against the Bears, look for Javorius Allen and Alex Collins to split both the snaps and touches in the Ravens' Week 6 backfield .

  • Rob Kelley RB | NO

Redskins' Rob Kelley: No go at practice Thursday

Kelley (ankle) didn't dress for the Redskins' practice Thursday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

Head coach Jay Gruden labeled Kelley a "long shot" to play Sunday against the 49ers, so the running back's second straight absence from practice doesn't come as a surprise. Unless Kelley is able to rally and put in a practice Friday, he'll be on the inactive list in Week 6, paving the way for Samaje Perine to see an expanded role out of the Redskins' backfield.

  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Packers' Aaron Jones: Could start over Montgomery

The Packers might consider starting Jones at running back even if Ty Montgomery (ribs) is available for Sunday's game against Minnesota, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports

Jones has averaged 5.4 yards and scored two touchdowns on 32 carries this season, while Montgomery, who sat out last week's win over the Cowboys with broken ribs, has averaged 3.3 and also scored twice on 46 totes. Matchups and offensive-line play are largely to blame for the production gap, but it's also worth noting that Montgomery likely will be playing through considerable pain if he returns for Sunday's game. Montgomery did log a full practice Wednesday, but Thursday's session in full pads will be far more informative as to his availability for Sunday, and also Jones' role in the contest.
