  • Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Scores again Week 2

Elliott rushed 17 times for 78 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 20-13 victory over the Giants. He also secured five of six passes for nine yards.

Elliott again overcame the injury woes that have struck his offensive line, averaging over 4.5 yards per carry and finding the end zone for the second time in as many weeks. With his heavy workload and elite skill set well documented, the only thing that's working against the running back's fantasy appeal at the moment is the Cowboys' relatively weak passing game that is hindering the offense's ability to keep drives alive. Fortunately, this unit seemed to take a step forward from Dallas' underwhelming showing Week 1, and there's still plenty of optimism that quarterback Dak Prescott will continue to improve as he logs more playing time with the Cowboys' retooled receiving corps.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Flashes receiving chops

Barkley rushed 11 times for 28 yards and caught 14 of 16 targets for 80 yards during Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Cowboys.

While it wasn't the most efficient outing we've ever seen, fantasy owners need to be happy with the fact that the Giants found many ways to get Barkley the ball, despite New York trailing almost the entire game. In fact, Wayne Gallman was only used to siphon one target away all night, and Barkley ultimately finished the day having paced his team in most receiving categories by a comfortable margin. The rookie's fantasy stock is dampened by the Giants' general inability to move the ball, but Barkley's still being given one of the heaviest workloads among all running backs across the league and will nonetheless remain an elite fantasy option at his position.

  • Royce Freeman RB | CHI

Broncos' Royce Freeman: Scores first career touchdown in win

Freeman rushed eight times for 28 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-19 defeat of Oakland. He failed to catch his only target.

Freeman drew the start and struggled to begin the game, gaining just two yards on three carries over the first two quarters. He was fortunate to cap off the opening drive of the second half with a one-yard touchdown run, but Phillip Lindsay outperformed his teammate on the whole and saw almost double the touches. The 22-year-old will try to be more effective Week 3 at Baltimore.

  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

Browns' Nick Chubb: Two touches Week 2

Chubb ran the ball two times for 14 yards during Sunday's 21-18 loss versus the Saints.

Though Chubb wasn't involved in the offensive game plan save for his two carries, he looked impressive when he touched the ball, gaining six and eight yards, respectively. Barring an injury to starter Carlos Hyde, the rookie out of Georgia likely won't see much more work going forward than he did Sunday, but the potential is there, making him a must-own in dynasty formats.

  • James Conner RB | ARI

Steelers' James Conner: Makes highlight catch

Conner caught five of five targets for 48 yards and carried the ball eight times for 17 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 42-37 loss to Kansas City. He also scored a two-point conversion on the day.

We knew he could run, now we know he can catch. Conner went up in the air and plucked a 22-yard pass down the sideline with one hand, a catch more expected of a star receiver than backup running back. Conner might be the second back on Steelers' fans minds, but he's certainly producing like a lead guy. Detractors will point to the fact that Conner's 65 yards on Sunday were fewer than all but one of Le'Veon Bell's outings last season, but if he's able to keep catching the ball like he did in this game, he'll rack up yardage when the Steelers can afford to be more balanced.

  • Matt Breida RB | SF

49ers' Matt Breida: Has career game versus Lions

Breida carried 11 times for 138 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Lions. He also caught three of four targets for an additional 21 yards in the 30-27 win.

Breida set career highs in rushing yards and scrimmage yards on the day, leading the team in both categories on a modest total of 14 touches. The bulk of his production came on an electric 66-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, which helped keep his team ahead as the Lions made a push late in the game. Breida received three fewer carries than veteran Alfred Morris, but the latter averaged 3.4 yards per carry and has managed just 86 yards on 26 totes through two games. Breida clearly possesses the greater upside of the two backs on a weekly basis, but the team seems set on continuing this timeshare heading into next week's matchup with the Chiefs.

  • Vikings' Latavius Murray: Finishes overtime period

Murray carried four times for 19 yards during Sunday's 29-29 tie with the Packers.

Murray received just two touches during regulation, but he finished the overtime period with a pair of carries to set up a field-goal attempt which Daniel Carlson ultimately missed. His involvement increased after Dalvin Cook left with an apparent hamstring injury, though Cook said after the game he was merely dealing with cramps. With this in mind, Murray should once again serve as Cook's backup Sunday against the Bills, though he could see additional work if the score gets out of hand.

  • Packers' Jamaal Williams: Totals 71 scrimmage yards versus Vikings

Williams carried 16 times for 59 yards and caught three of four targets for 12 additional yards during Sunday's 29-29 tie with the Vikings.

Williams struggled to the tune of 3.7 yards per carry, generating a long run of just 11 yards against the stout Minnesota front. He also led the backfield in targets but averaged just four yards on his three receptions. Williams has been given the majority of the backfield work through the first two weeks, but he's responded with just 118 scrimmage yards on 34 touches. His backfield mate Aaron Jones is eligible to return from a two-game suspension Week 3 against the Redskins and could eat into Williams' touches after this lackluster audition.

  • Kenyan Drake RB | GB

Dolphins' Kenyan Drake: Finds pay dirt in Week 2 win

Drake rushed 11 times for 53 yards and a touchdown while catching all four of his targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Jets.

Drake opened the scoring with a six-yard touchdown run, and he topped out at 20 yards on his longest carry. Frank Gore once again cut into Drake's workload with 10 touches of his own, but Drake has been explosive enough to stay productive, despite ceding about 40 percent of the work to Gore through two weeks.

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Productive all-around effort in Week 2 win

Kamara rushed 13 times for 46 yards and brought in all six of his targets for an additional 53 yards in the Saints' 21-18 win over the Browns on Sunday. He also logged a two-point conversion rush.

Kamara once again paced the Saints backfield, but as was the case in a Week 1 loss to the Buccaneers, his total number of rushing touches was modest. He was heavily involved on the pass-catching front, however, checking in second in receptions only to Michael Thomas on the team during the contest. The 23-year-old wasn't nearly as productive from a yardage standpoint as he'd been Week 1, but his level of involvement is essentially an every-week lock. He'll look to continue a strong start to his season against the Falcons in Week 3.
