  • Dalvin Cook RB | DAL

Vikings' Dalvin Cook: On snap count Sunday

The Vikings plan on Cook (hamstring) playing Sunday against the Cardinals, but he'll likely be limited to around 20-to-25 offensive snaps, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Cook, who was officially listed as questionable heading into the weekend, sent mixed signals about his health during recent practices. After opening the week with a limited practice Wednesday, he logged a full session Thursday before being limited again Friday. Adam Schefter of ESPN confirmed that while Cook isn't 100 percent recovered from the hamstring strain that sidelined him against the Eagles last week, the second-year back will be ready to handle a restricted role Sunday. Expect Cook to split work in the backfield with Latavius Murray in fairly even fashion.

  • Matt Breida RB | SF

49ers' Matt Breida: Questionable for Monday

Breida (shoulder/ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Packers and will have his availability decided on game day, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.

Breida was sidelined at practice to start the week but put in a limited session Saturday to keep alive his prospects of playing Monday. Earlier in the week the team considered the 23-year-old as doubtful, so he's at least trending in the right direction. Coach Kyle Shanahan said the team would elevate a running back from the practice squad if Breida is ultimately unable to suit up, which would leave Alfred Morris and Raheem Mostert to handle backfield duties for the 49ers.

  • Gus Edwards RB | LAC

    Ravens' Gus Edwards: Joins Ravens

Edwards was promoted to the Ravens' 53-man roster Saturday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Edwards reverted to the Ravens' practice squad after failing to make their final roster prior to the season kicking off. He has now been promoted to provide depth at running back behind Alex Collins and Javorius Allen, as De'Lance Turner (hamstring) has been placed on injured reserve. Barring injuries ahead of him on the depth chart, he is not expected to make an impact on offense.

  • Chase Edmonds RB | WAS

Cardinals' Chase Edmonds: Questionable for Week 6

Edmonds is questionable for Sunday's game in Minnesota due to a back injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Edmonds presumably suffered the injury during Friday's session, as he avoided the injury report before that juncture. Working in his favor, though, was a limited showing, suggesting his practice reps were capped as a precaution. If he's deemed active Sunday, Edmonds will do little more than spell David Johnson, who has accounted for 60 of 68 touches given to Arizona running backs the past three games.

  • Jordan Wilkins RB | CLE

Colts' Jordan Wilkins: In line for decreased role

Wilkins' workload likely will decrease with Marlon Mack (hamstring) expected to start Sunday's road game against the Jets, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.

During Mack's absence, Wilkins has played second fiddle to Nyheim Hines, earning an offensive snap share of 36.2 percent versus the latter's 59.3 percent on the season. With Mack available Sunday, expect Wilkins to fall to third in the pecking order due to Hines' pass-catching chops.

  • Colts' Nyheim Hines: Role expected to decrease

Hines' workload likely will decrease with Marlon Mack (hamstring) expected to start Sunday's road game versus the Jets, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.

Hines has been the primary beneficiary of an absent Mack, totaling 62 touches to Jordan Wilkins' 53 on the season. With Mack back in the fold, expect the workloads of both Hines and Wilkins to be scaled back, though Hines' pass-catching ability should keep him more relevant than Wilkins.

  • Matt Breida RB | SF

49ers' Matt Breida: Misses another practice

Breida (ankle) isn't practicing Friday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

While he hasn't yet been ruled out, Breida's continued absence from the practice field lends credence to the notion that he's a long shot to play in Monday's game at Green Bay. The Niners likely are preparing to move forward with Alfred Morris and Raheem Mostert in the backfield for Week 6, hoping Breida can make it back for Week 7 against the Rams. Coach Kyle Shanahan said at the beginning of the week that he views Breida as doubtful for Monday's game.

  • Dalvin Cook RB | DAL

Vikings' Dalvin Cook: Considered questionable after limited practice

Cook (hamstring) scaled back to limited participation at Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Chris Corso of the Vikings' official website reports.

Cook sandwiched a pair of limited practices around a full session Thursday, with the cold weather in Minnesota potentially playing a role in his step back to close out the week. He expects to return for Sunday's game, but he did acknowledge that hamstring injuries can be "tricky," per Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Cook also mentioned that he doesn't see much point in returning if he's only 70 or 80 percent healthy, per Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com. It all adds up to a potential game-time decision ahead of Sunday's 1:00 PM ET kickoff, with Latavius Murray in line to handle most of the backfield snaps if Cook is ultimately ruled out. We also won't be surprised if Murray and Cook end up splitting the workload.

  • Marlon Mack RB | ARI

Colts' Marlon Mack: Likely to start Sunday

Mack (hamstring) is expected to start Sunday's road game against the Jets, Zak Keefer of The Indianapolis Star reports.

The Colts' ground game has failed to launch this season, ranking 29th in the NFL at just 74.4 yards per game. This reality has forced Andrew Luck to the air a league-high 245 times. With Mack in the fold, though, perhaps the offense will display a modicum of balance. Mack hasn't exactly proved effective in 15 career games -- he boasts 3.8 YPC and has hauled in 22 of 35 passes -- but he should pass Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins as the No. 1 running back Sunday.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Monster game in blowout loss

Barkley had 13 carries for 130 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown, in Thursday's 34-13 loss to the Eagles. He also caught nine of 12 targets for 99 more yards.

Barkley is game-flow-proof, quarterback-proof and offensive line-proof. He's a major weapon in the passing game and capable of taking a play to the house at any moment. No matter how bad it gets for the Giants, a healthy Barkley is a top-five fantasy player.
