Dylan Sampson RB | CLE
Browns' Dylan Sampson: Seven snaps in loss
Sampson had one carry for minus-4 yards and caught one of two targets for six yards in Sunday's 21-17 loss to Minnesota in Week 5.
Not much changed for Sampson with the switch from quarterback Joe Flacco to Dillon Gabriel. Sampson's seven snaps Sunday was the third consecutive game with fewer than 10 for the rookie, whose role has diminished since Quinshon Judkins entered the picture Week 2.

Jerome Ford RB | WAS
Browns' Jerome Ford: Uptick in offensive touches
Ford had five carries for 18 yards and caught both of his targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 21-17 loss to the Vikings. He also returned three kickoffs for 78 yards.
Ford's seven touches on offense, 38 yards from scrimmage and 116 combined yards were his most since Week 2, when he was still a factor before Quinshon Judkins became the lead running back. Cleveland's switch to rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel was the reason for Ford's increased touches. To make life easier on Gabriel, the Browns deployed a run-heavy offense and had a 50/50 split between rushes and pass attempts. They also got right tackle Jack Conklin (elbow) back, which helped Cleveland amass a season-high 140 yards on the ground. Barring a Judkins injury, Ford's days as the lead back are over, but Sunday's game plan showed how the Browns offense can be competitive.

Tyjae Spears RB | TEN
Titans' Tyjae Spears: Four carries in 2025 debut
Spears rushed the ball four times for 14 yards in Sunday's 22-21 win over the Cardinals.
Spears was activated from injured reserve and able to suit up for the first time in 2025 after recovering from an ankle injury. He unsurprisingly worked as the clear backup to Tony Pollard, managing a pair of five-yard gains on his four carries. Spears could see his role expand as the season progresses.

Emari Demercado RB | KC
Cardinals' Emari Demercado: Key mistake in loss
Demercado rushed the ball three times for 81 yards in Sunday's 22-21 loss to the Titans.
Demercado was expected to see an expanded role in the absence of Trey Benson (knee), but Michael Carter dominated opportunities out of the backfield. Demercado's lack of involvement as a pass catcher was particularly surprising, as he was not targeted. He looked to have made the case for a more expanded role with a long 72-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, but he fumbled on a premature celebration before crossing the goal line for a touchback. The Cardinals still gave him one additional touch before the end of the game, but the key error isn't likely to help his role heading into a Week 6 matchup against the Colts.

Chase Brown RB | CIN
Bengals' Chase Brown: Seven catches in loss
Brown rushed the ball eight times for 27 yards in Sunday's 37-24 loss to the Lions. He added seven receptions on eight targets for 21 yards.
The Bengals were scripted out of the run game early on, as they were down by multiple scores for three quarters of the game. Brown had another uninspiring game as a rusher as a result, though he did earn his most involvement as a pass catcher this season. The end result won't provide any reassurance for fantasy managers moving forward, but Brown did deliver a serviceable performance in PPR formats.

Tony Pollard RB | TEN
Titans' Tony Pollard: Maintains lead-back role
Pollard rushed the ball 14 times for 67 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 22-21 win over Arizona. He added three receptions on three targets for 11 yards and also lost a fumble.
It was an eventful day for Pollard with significant swings in performance. He picked up 26 yards on four carries on the Titans' opening drive, but his next notable contribution to the game was losing a fumble that set up an Arizona touchdown. Pollard then redeemed himself with a one-yard score of his own early in the fourth quarter to kickstart a frantic Tennessee comeback that resulted in the team's first win of the season. Also notable was that Pollard out-touched Tyjae Spears 17-4, though Spears is likely to become more involved in future matchups. Pollard has done an admirable job early in the campaign given the state of Tennessee's offense, picking up at least 60 yards on the ground in four of five games.
-
Michael Carter RB | TEN
Cardinals' Michael Carter: Dominates opportunity
Carter rushed the ball 18 times for 51 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 22-21 loss to the Titans. He added five receptions on five targets for 22 yards.
Carter was expected to step into an expanded role with both James Conner (foot) and Trey Benson (knee) sidelined, though it was unclear exactly how touches would be distributed. Carter resoundingly served as the lead back for Arizona, accounting for 23 total touches, while Emari Demercado and Bam Knight combined for nine. He wasn't particularly efficient with the touches, though he did manage to find the end zone on a one-yard plunge early in the first quarter. Carter's involvement as a receiver was also particularly notable, as Demercado was projected to take over duties as the primary pass catcher out of the backfield. Carter looks to have reliable volume heading into a Week 6 matchup against the Colts, though this situation could remain fluid.

TreVeyon Henderson RB | NE
Patriots' TreVeyon Henderson: Leads team with 24 rushing yards
Henderson carried the ball six times for 24 yards and caught two of three targets for three yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over Buffalo.
Henderson finished as New England's leading rusher as part of a three-player committee, but it was Rhamondre Stevenson who cashed in both of the team's short rushing scores Sunday. The latter also coughed up his third fumble of the season, which could cut into Stevenson's playing time even after making two trips to the end zone. That potential scenario could open up more touches for Henderson going forward, though so far he has seen his fantasy value thwarted by the three-way timeshare. Until he has an uptick in usage, the second-round rookie will be stuck as a deep-league option.

Rhamondre Stevenson RB | NE
Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Scores twice, but fumbles again
Stevenson took seven carries for 14 yards, two touchdowns and a lost fumble while adding two receptions for 13 yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Bills.
Stevenson led New England's three-headed backfield with his seven carries Sunday, rewarding fantasy managers with a pair of trips to the end zone. The bad news for the veteran rusher was that his ball security woes continued with his third lost fumble in as many games. Stevenson's case of fumblitis didn't cost his team a shot at victory like it did in Week 3 against the Steelers. That said, it wouldn't be surprising if the Patriots lean more heavily on TreVeyon Henderson and Antonio Gibson going forward if Stevenson is unable to correct his turnover issues.

James Cook RB | BUF
Bills' James Cook: Held in check by New England
Cook rushed the ball 15 times for 49 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Patriots. He did not catch his only target.
Cook endured his worst game of the season both as a rusher and receiver. His longest rush of the day went for only nine yards, and he also went without a catch for the first time on the campaign. Positively, Cook still dominated opportunity out of Bills' backfield, with Ray Davis and Ty Johnson combining to see only four rushing attempts with zero targets. Cook should have a strong chance of bouncing back in Week 6 against Atlanta.
