Matt Breida RB | SF
49ers' Matt Breida: Dodges PUP list
Breida (pectoral) wasn't placed on the PUP list to start training camp, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
This doesn't necessarily mean he'll have full clearance, but it does suggest Breida is ready for some level of participation. A slight pectoral tear held him out for part of OTAs and June minicamp, with the third-year pro joining Jerick McKinnon (knee) in the 49ers' rehab group. McKinnon will open camp on the PUP list after suffering a minor setback in his ACL rehab earlier this month. Breida and McKinnon are competing with Tevin Coleman for snaps in a crowded backfield.

Ezekiel Elliott RB | LAC
Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Officially holding out
Elliott's holdout became official Friday when he didn't show up for the Cowboys' morning physical and conditioning run, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Elliott never announced his decision, perhaps hoping to sign an extension at the last minute before the start of training camp. The Cowboys now have the option of fining their star running back, though it isn't the best idea if they intend to keep negotiations cordial. Elliott will lose an accrued year toward free agency if he doesn't report to the team by Aug. 6. He's under contract for two more seasons, while teammates Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper are only signed through 2019.

Jerick McKinnon RB | KC
49ers' Jerick McKinnon: Suffers minor setback
McKinnon (knee) will open training camp on the PUP list after suffering a setback in his rehab process, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. "Jerick has had a tremendous recovery," 49ers GM John Lynch said Friday. "About a week and a half ago had a little flare up in the knee."
Lynch downplayed the severity of the setback, noting that McKinnon isn't expected to stay on the PUP list for long, per Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. The 27-year-old running back was held out of practice at OTAs and minicamp, with the expectation of a return for the start of training camp this week. Fellow running back Matt Breida (pectoral) avoided the PUP list.

Derrick Henry RB | BAL
Titans' Derrick Henry: Leaves Friday's practice
Coach Mike Vrabel considers Henry "day-to-day" after the running back left Friday's practice with an undisclosed issue, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
According to John Glennon of The Athletic, Henry stretched prior to the session but only managed one individual drill before his departure. Afterward, Vrabel added that he won't know the nature of the potential injury until he talks with the Titans' training staff. As a result, Henry's health may be clarified in the near future.

Rodney Anderson RB | CIN
Bengals' Rodney Anderson: Lands on NFI list
Anderson (knee) was placed on the non-football injury list Thursday.
Anderson was a candidate to land on the PUP list as he recovers from a torn ACL, but he instead was placed on the NFI list. The rookie sixth-round pick originally believed he would be 100 percent healthy for the start of training camp, but he'll instead require some additional recovery time.

Ezekiel Elliott RB | LAC
Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Hasn't joined team
Elliott still isn't with the Cowboys as of Friday morning, but his agents are making progress in discussions for a contract extension, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports.
Although he didn't fly out to Los Angeles with his teammates for the start of training camp, Elliott still has time to report before he's officially considered a holdout. The Cowboys will have their opening meeting for camp Friday afternoon/evening.

Corey Grant RB | JAC
Packers' Corey Grant: Joining Green Bay
Grant (foot) is signing with the Packers, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Grant suffered a season-ending Lisfranc injury in October, finishing the year with 13 carries for 40 yards and nine catches for 67 yards in five games for the Jaguars. He owns a career average of 5.6 yards on 81 carries, though the number has been boosted by a couple long runs on fake punts. Grant found a favorable landing spot in Green Bay, where there are only four other halfbacks on the roster to start training camp. His experience covering punts and returning kickoffs could come in handy if he's healthy enough to make a serious bid for a roster spot.

Melvin Gordon RB | BAL
Chargers' Melvin Gordon: Headed for lengthy holdout
Gordon's holdout may stretch into the regular season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Gordon is absent from the start of training camp and already has informed the Chargers he'll demand a trade if he doesn't receive a new contract. The team presumably is willing to discuss an extension, but recent comments from GM Tom Telesco suggest the two sides aren't close to reaching a deal. "I always look at the player's side, so I can see it," Telesco said. "It doesn't mean I agree with it, but I can kind of see what his thought process is." In the meantime, Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson will get most of the first-team reps at training camp.

Corey Clement RB | ARI
Eagles' Corey Clement: Does solo work
Clement (knee) did individual drills but no team work Thursday, the team's first day of training camp, Reuben Frank of NBC Sports reports.
Clement is likely to earn a role as the fourth running back behind Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders and Darren Sproles, but the 24-year-old will need to show he's all the way back first. He is seven months removed from knee surgery. Josh Adams and Wendell Smallwood loom as his main competition, with Boston Scott and Donnel Pumphrey around as less likely options.

Kenyan Drake RB | GB
Dolphins' Kenyan Drake: Mixes in after Ballage
Drake mixed in with the starters Thursday after Kalen Ballage took the first snap of training camp, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Most expected Drake to line up with the starters before ceding some work to Ballage. The reverse doesn't warrant any drastic conclusions after a single practice, but the situation does merit close watching over the next few weeks. The depth chart behind Drake and Ballage doesn't offer much promise, with seventh-round rookie Myles Gaskin battling Kenneth Farrow, Mark Walton and undrafted rookie Patrick Laird.
