Homer made the Seahawks' 53-man roster, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

The Seahawks used a sixth-round pick on Homer in April's draft, and he led the Seahawks with 6.3 yards per carry in the preseason. Of course, those reps came against second and third-string players, but combine the early production with his intriguing athleticism -- a 40-yard dash of 4.48 seconds and a 39.5-inch vertical -- and the Seahawks are willing to spend time developing him into a dual-threat back.

Elliott and the Cowboys are closing in on a contract extension, Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports reports.

Robinson specifies that he's reporting sourced information, not just speculating based on what's already known. Another reliable reporter, Adam Schefter of ESPN, passed along similar information Saturday, noting that Elliott could finalize a contract by the end of this weekend. Even if the process takes a bit longer, it sounds like the running back is on a path that could allow him to play Week 1 against the Giants.

Scott went unclaimed on waivers and plans to sign with Philadelphia's practice squad, Mike Kaye of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Scott shined in the Eagles' second preseason game, rushing seven times for 43 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately for the 24-year-old, the Eagles have good depth in their backfield and decided to waive him, but he'll at least stick around in Philadelphia.

The Bengals claimed Perine off waivers Sunday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Perine earned steady praise from Redskins coach Jay Gruden throughout spring and summer, but the team ultimately didn't need another power runner behind Derrius Guice and Adrian Peterson. The 2017 fourth-round pick now gets a better opportunity in Cincinnati, where Rodney Anderson just suffered a season-ending knee injury and fellow rookie Trayveon Williams is dealing with a foot issue. Perine will slot in third or fourth on the depth chart, behind college teammate Joe Mixon and No. 2 running back Giovani Bernard.

The Jaguars claimed Ozigbo off waivers from the Saints on Sunday, Phillip Heilman of The Athletic reports.

The undrafted rookie out of Nebraska averaged 4.4 yards on 21 carries and 6.8 yards on nine receptions (10 targets) while playing for the Saints this preseason. The Jaguars also claimed Tyler Ervin, adding a pair of running backs to join Leonard Fournette, Alfred Blue (ankle) and Ryquell Armstead.

Ozigbo was waived by the Saints, Herbie Teope of Nola.com reports.

The rookie was incredibly close to making the roster, as the decision came down to him and Dwayne Washington, with the team electing to roll with the veteran. It's likely that Ozigbo could be back with the team in some fashion, most likely on the practice squad, should he clear waivers.

Pumphrey was waived by Philadelphia on Saturday.

After an impressive college career, Phumphrey has failed to make an active roster since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He spent much of 2018 on the Eagles' practice squad and he may find himself there once again in 2019.

Brossette was waived by New England on Saturday.

Brossette was facing an uphill battle to make the roster, with at least four players ahead of him with valuable NFL experience under their belts. Now that he's been let go, he could be claimed off waivers Sunday, or perhaps resurface on the Patriots' practice squad.

The 49ers waived Wilson as part of Saturday's final roster cuts, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Maiocco noted that Wilson was the last player to be alerted of his departure, showing that the team's front office was heavily debating whether or not to keep the backup until the 11th hour. San Francisco would likely keep the 23-year-old on the practice squad if he clears waivers, but its chances may be slim after Wilson's strong preseason (178 yards, four touchdowns and a 4.3 YPC) and brief success against NFL defenses last season (66 carries for 266 rushing yards).

Ogunbowale is one of only three running backs currently on the Buccaneers' roster following the release of Andre Ellington on Saturday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.

Ogunbowale made his presence felt throughout training camp and preseason, and he evidently showed enough as a pass catcher in particular to convince coach Bruce Arians to part with a known entity in Ellington. As one of only three running backs on the roster alongside Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones, Ogunbowale is one injury away from becoming a significant part of the offense, and he figures to see a fairly solid complementary role even when the top duo is at full health. Ogunbowale also has some experience as a kickoff returner, although Bobo Wilson is projected to open the season in that role.
