Murray has a spot on the Saints' initial 53-man roster, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Murray was rumored to be in danger of losing his spot, with the Saints able to free up some cap space by replacing him with preseason standout Tony Jones. It now appears the team will keep both backs, potentially creating confusion about who will take carries off the bench behind Alvin Kamara in Week 1 against the Packers.

Foreman was cut by the Falcons on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Foreman signed with Atlanta on Aug. 9 but apparently didn't show enough in the preseason to earn a spot on the initial 53-man roster. The 25-year-old appeared in six games with 22 carries for 95 yards with the Titans last season, and he'll now look to latch on with a new team after the brief stint with the Falcons.

The Saints released Armah on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Armah appeared in all 16 regular-season games for the past three seasons with Carolina before latching on with New Orleans this offseason. His NFL experience will likely garner plenty of interest from around the league.

Taylor was waived by the Packers on Tuesday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Taylor worked as the Packers' fourth running back during training camp, but the team elected to keep only three players at his position, so there was not room for him on the roster. He has been with the Packers since signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in April of 2020, and that could help him sew up a spot on the team's practice squad.

Boone (quad) is expected to be placed on IR, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Klis notes that the plan is for Boone to remain on the team's 53-man roster Tuesday, before landing on IR on Wednesday. In that context, Boone could be back in action as soon as Week 4. In the meantime, Royce Freeman is slated to handle the Broncos' No. 3 RB role behind Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams.

Clement was cut by the Giants on Tuesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Early camp reports hinted at Clement pushing Devontae Booker for a backup role, but it seems instead the former Eagle was surpassed by rookie sixth-round pick Gary Brightwell. Clement can block, catch passes and play special teams; it's his lack of explosiveness as a runner that seems to be the issue.

The Eagles waived Huntley (ribs) on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Huntley injured his ribs during the Eagles' first preseason contest against the Steelers and has been listed as day-to-day since. The 23-year-old appeared in five games for the Eagles last year, recording five carries for 19 yards. His versatility as a return man could warrant him some attention on waivers, but he is likely to land on a practice squad somewhere.

Reynolds was let go by the Lions on Tuesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Reynolds was a feel-good storyline in Detroit given his impressive preseason production despite signing with the team the day before the exhibition opener. While his efforts ultimately weren't enough to convince the team to give him a roster spot, it wouldn't be a surprise if Reynolds were to get a chance on the practice squad.

Jones could be the Saints' No. 2 running back heading into the regular season, Larry Holder of The Athletic reports.

Jones is at least the No. 3 running back behind Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray, especially after Devonta Freeman was released Tuesday. However, the 30-year-old Murray took limited snaps during training camp before being significantly outproduced by the 23-year-old Jones during the preseason. Even if Murray remains in the No. 2 role early on this season, it wouldn't be a surprise if Jones were to take it from him at some point down the road.

Patterson appears to have a spot on Washington's initial 53-man roster, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

The undrafted rookie out of Buffalo is one of three running backs left on the roster after Peyton Barber was released Tuesday morning, though it is possible Washington re-signs Barber after cutdown day (and thus avoids guaranteeing his salary). Even if Barber is brought back, the willingness to risk losing him suggests Washington is comfortable with Patterson in the No. 3 role. The rookie likely won't match Barber's contributions as a blocker or coverage man on special teams, but Patterson could get some touches on kick returns and would also offer a more explosive element if Washington ever needed to replace an injured Antonio Gibson or J.D. McKissic.
