Tyler Allgeier RB | ARI
Falcons' Tyler Allgeier: Garners three carries
Allgeier rushed three times for 25 yards in Friday's 27-23 preseason win over the Lions.
Allgeier didn't enter the game until the third quarter, but he was efficient with his workload, which included a long gain of 15 yards. The rookie fifth-rounder will now hope to build on his exhibition debut when the Falcons take on the Jets next Monday night.

Cordarrelle Patterson RB | PIT
Falcons' Cordarrelle Patterson: No touches versus Lions
Patterson played but didn't get any touches in Friday's 27-23 preseason win over the Lions.
Patterson was on the field for Atlanta's opening snap on offense, but he never got his number called during his brief appearance. The utility tailback should garner more work in the Falcons' next preseason game versus the Jets.

D'Andre Swift RB | CHI
Lions' D'Andre Swift: Scores in exhibition opener
Swift rushed four times for 20 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 27-23 preseason loss to the Falcons.
Swift capped Detroit's opening drive with a nine-yard touchdown rush. That proved to be his final carry of the game, making for a short but effective showing to begin the preseason.

Elijah Mitchell RB | PHI
49ers' Elijah Mitchell: Tending to hamstring injury
Mitchell is dealing with a hamstring issue that may keep him sidelined for the entire preseason, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Prior to kickoff of Friday's exhibition against the Packers, Mitchell wasn't seen in uniform along with a number of the 49ers' top skill-position talent, per Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com. But Mitchell's absence is related to an injury. While he may not make an appearance in a game in August, he is slated to be available when the team opens the regular season Sunday, Sept. 11 in Chicago.

Kenneth Gainwell RB | TB
Eagles' Kenneth Gainwell: Not expected to play Friday
Gainwell (hip) isn't slated to play in Friday's preseason contest versus the Jets, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
Gainwell was held out of Tuesday's practice due to a hip issue, which seemingly will keep him in street clothes for the Eagles' first exhibition. With Boston Scott currently in the concussion protocol, Miles Sanders, Jason Huntley, Kennedy Brooks and DeAndre Torrey are the team's options out of the backfield Friday.
-
James Robinson RB | NO
Jaguars' James Robinson: Won't play Friday
Robinson (Achilles) won't play in Friday's preseason game against the Browns, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Robinson is in the process of recovering from a torn left Achilles' tendon, so it's no surprise that he'll sit this one out as the team continues to manage his training-camp workload. At this stage it's unclear if he'll see any reps in either of Jacksonville's next two preseason contests, but once Robinson returns to 100 percent, he'll look to regain a key role in a Jaguars backfield that he led last season while Travis Etienne was sidelined with a foot injury.
-
Nick Chubb RB | HOU
Browns' Nick Chubb: Not slated to play Friday
Chubb isn't in line to play in Friday's preseason game at Jacksonville.
The same goes for fellow running back Kareem Hunt. Meanwhile, the Browns are expected to have new quarterback Deshaun Watson in the starting lineup, so he won't have the team's top two RBs at his disposal. Instead, D'Ernest Johnson, Demetric Felton, Jerome Ford and John Kelly will occupy the Browns backfield Friday.

Ke'Shawn Vaughn RB | SF
Buccaneers' Ke'Shawn Vaughn: Impresses in Thursday's practice
Vaughn ripped off a long run up the right sideline in Thursday's joint practice with the Dolphins, Andrew Crane of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The third-year back was part of a successful session for the Buccaneers' ground game against the Dolphins defense, with Vaughn's run described by Crane as a would-be touchdown had it happened in a game setting. Vaughn picked up some valuable experience late last season, including in the wild-card loss to the Eagles, but rookie Rachaad White has also impressed during camp as the two battle to serve as the primary complement to lead back Leonard Fournette.
-
Jason Huntley RB | IND
Eagles' Jason Huntley: Set for heavy workload
With Boston Scott (concussion) and Kenneth Gainwell (hip) out, Huntley is expected to garner a heavy workload during Friday's preseason opener against the Jets, Bo Wulf of The Athletic reports.
Miles Sanders may play a series or two, but Huntley will likely see the large majority of snaps at running back Friday. Wulf also notes that undrafted rookie Kennedy Brooks will get mixed in too, but Huntley has the higher upside. The 2020 fifth-round pick appeared in one game for the Eagles last season, totaling 51 rushing yards on 13 attempts.

Samaje Perine RB | CIN
Bengals' Samaje Perine: Impresses at training camp
Perine has been "all over the field making plays" in training camp, according to Jay Morrison and Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic.
While Perine is no threat to supplant top back Joe Mixon, he's looking to cement the No. 2 slot in the Bengals' backfield and at this stage it appears as though he has a solid chance to hold off 2021 sixth-rounder Chris Evans on that front. Though neither Perine or Evans profile as reliable fantasy lineup options when Mixon is healthy, if Cincinnati's top back misses time this season, Perine figures to absorb a good chunk of the the team's early-down work, with Evans factoring in as a pass-catcher.
