Darwin Thompson RB | LV
Seahawks' Darwin Thompson: Totals 17 yards Saturday
Thompson rushed three times for 15 yards and caught his lone target for two yards in Saturday's 32-25 preseason loss to the Steelers. He also returned one kickoff for 14 yards.
Thompson didn't play on offense until the fourth quarter, as Kenneth Walker, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas all took the field before him. He wasn't effective in his limited reps. The 2019 sixth-round pick is on the roster bubble.

DeeJay Dallas RB | JAC
Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Effective in second half
Dallas rushed 10 times for 73 yards and caught his lone target for a 17-yard touchdown in Saturday's 32-25 preseason loss to the Steelers. He also returned two kicks for 41 yards.
Dallas didn't play on offense until the second half, as he was the third Seahawks running back to take the field after rookie Kenneth Walker and Travis Homer. As it stands, Dallas and Homer are competing for the No. 3 running back spot, which will focus mostly on third downs, and Homer seemingly has the edge because of his pass-blocking ability. Fantasy managers shouldn't depend on either back, however, as Walker and Rashaad Penny (groin) should take the bulk of the workload when healthy.

Travis Homer RB | PIT
Seahawks' Travis Homer: Impressive in preseason loss
Homer rushed four times for 41 yards and caught two of three targets for 33 yards in Saturday's 32-25 preseason loss to the Steelers.
With Rashaad Penny (groin) sitting out, Homer was the second Seahawks running back to take the field after rookie second-round pick Kenneth Walker and before DeeJay Dallas. Homer was highly efficient on the ground and through the air. Dallas also was quite impressive, running for 73 yards on 10 carries and catching his lone target for a 17-yard gain. Homer is the superior pass blocker and appears to have the edge in the competition with Dallas for the No. 3 running back spot, though neither player will have much fantasy utility as long as Penny and Walker are healthy.

Raheem Blackshear RB | NYJ
Bills' Raheem Blackshear: Hits paydirt twice in pro debut
Blackshear rushed six times for 11 yards with two scores in Saturday's preseason win over the Colts. He also caught four of five targets for 60 yards.
Blackshear is a long shot to make the roster as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech, but he certainly had a nice start to his pro career and can perhaps keep himself in the conversation should injuries strike the players ahead of him on the current depth chart.

Nyheim Miller-Hines RB | NO
Colts' Nyheim Hines: Gets start in preseason opener
Hines got the start at running back with Jonathan Taylor sitting out and had eight carries for 26 yards and two receptions for 13 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to Buffalo.
The Colts plan to hold out Taylor from preseason games to play it safe, so Hines got the starting nod. The offense overall was sluggish, meaning it's difficult to read too much into Hines' performance, other that it could be an indication that the coaching staff plans to follow through on talk this summer that he'll get more touches. However, it's also worth remembering that head coach Frank Reich made similar proclamations about designing plays and making sure Hines was part of the game plan last summer.

Jake Funk RB | JAC
Rams' Jake Funk: Nine touches Saturday
Funk rushed six times for 16 yards in Saturday's 29-22 win over the Chargers. He also caught one of two passes for 10 yards and returned two kicks for 36 yards.
Funk didn't light up the stat sheet Saturday, but he did show off a multi-faceted skill set beyond his rushing ability with his reception and two kick returns. Brandon Powell (knee) and Tutu Atwell will likely serve as the primary return men for the Rams during the regular season, but Funk's abilities on special teams may help swing the second-year running back onto the roster and into a backup role, especially if Kyren Williams (foot) isn't ready to go to start the regular season.

Kenneth Gainwell RB | TB
Eagles' Kenneth Gainwell: Practicing Sunday
Gainwell (hip) returned to practice Sunday, Chris Franklin of NJ.com reports.
Gainwell missed Friday's preseason matchup with the Jets due to a hip issue, but it appears like he avoided a major injury and will look to return to action for Week 2 of the preseason. Fellow running backs Boston Scott (concussion) and Miles Sanders (leg) currently are sidelined, so it's possible Gainwell heads into Sunday's exhibition contest against the Browns as the Eagles' No. 1 option ahead of Jason Huntley, Kennedy Brooks and DeAndre Torrey.
-
Miles Sanders RB | DAL
Eagles' Miles Sanders: Not practicing Sunday
Sanders didn't practice Sunday due to leg soreness, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
The Eagles surprisingly opted for a padded practice Sunday after losing to the Jets, 24-21, during Friday's preseason game. During the contest, Sanders didn't receive a carry but caught both of his targets for 20 yards on his only drive of the game. The extent of the issue is unclear, but it's possible Philadelphia is just resting him for a day after his first live contact since last season.

Dare Ogunbowale RB | HOU
Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Catches lone target
Ogunbowale was not given a carry and caught his lone target for eight yards in Saturday's 17-13 preseason win over New Orleans.
Ogunbowale is on the bubble in a competition with Royce Freeman to become the fourth running back, which the Texans usually carry. He had three snaps on offense during the first two series, while Freeman was handed the rock 12 times in 36 snaps. Ogunbowale also was seen returning kicks in pregame warmups, per Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle, but he didn't get a chance to return during the game. It's not a given the team rosters four running backs. Houston may designate that spot for a fullback, particularly if there's a player at another position they'd rather retain.

Darrynton Evans RB | BUF
Bears' Darrynton Evans: Sees significant work
Evans rushed seven times for 20 yards and caught three of six targets for six yards in the Bears' 19-14 win over the Chiefs on Sunday.
Evans is primarily competing with sixth-round draft choice Trestan Ebner for the No. 3 running back role behind David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert. Although Evans saw a lot of work in the preseason opener, his production paled in comparison to Ebner's, who was effective as both a runner and receiver. The next two weeks could settle this training camp battle.
