Jashaun Corbin RB | NE
Giants' Jashaun Corbin: Notches another TD
Corbin rushed six times for 23 yards and a touchdown and added five catches on five targets for 33 yards in Sunday's preseason loss to the Jets.
Corbin was active as both a runner and receiver in the contest, enabling him to total a team-leading 56 yards of offense. He got into the end zone for the second straight week, scoring on a one-yard plunge in the the third quarter. Corbin is on the bubble for a spot on the initial 53-man roster, but he's improved his odds with a strong preseason.

Craig Reynolds RB | NE
Lions' Craig Reynolds: Plays into fourth quarter
Reynolds rushed six times for 31 yards while catching two of three targets for 13 yards during Sunday's 19-9 loss to the Steelers.
Considering Reynolds was the presumptive favorite for the No. 3 role at running back for most of the preseason, it was surprising to see him playing into the fourth quarter on both offense and special teams Sunday. Meanwhile, Justin Jackson totaled 83 yards on 10 touches and may be a making a claim for his job. While it's possible that both players make the roster, there's no certainty that Detroit will keep five running backs on the roster given that Godwin Igwebuike seems likely to stick around for special-teams purposes.

Najee Harris RB | LAC
Steelers' Najee Harris: Seven touches in preseason debut
Harris rushed four times for 10 yards and caught all three of his targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 19-9 preseason win over the Lions.
Harris, who has had the starting job in Pittsburgh locked up, finally got his feet wet right before the start of the regular season. The sophomore's fantasy managers were probably hoping for more production in the tune-up appearance after a pedestrian 3.9 yards per carry mark in 2021. That said, Harris should be in store for another high-volume season -- he had 381 touches and 10 touchdowns last year -- with a running back depth chart that looks similar to the one he led during his rookie campaign. Harris and the Steelers will take on the Bengals in Week 1 of the regular season on Sunday, Sept. 11.

Brian Robinson Jr. RB | ATL
Commanders' Brian Robinson: Victim of shooting
Robinson is in stable condition Sunday after he was a shooting victim in an attempted robbery in Washington, D.C., Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Robinson was shot a number of times, including at least twice in the lower-body area. Fortunately for Robinson, the resulting injuries aren't life-threatening. Robinson put together a strong training camp and preseason, pushing presumed No. 1 running back Antonio Gibson for early-down and short-yardage work. However, the rookie third-round pick now will focus on recovering from Sunday's incident.

Matt Breida RB | SF
Giants' Matt Breida: Plays versus Jets
Breida rushed three times for one yard in Sunday's 31-27 preseason loss to the Jets.
Breida made his first appearance of the preseason after sitting out New York's opening two contests with an undisclosed injury. Although he didn't do much Sunday, Breida should now feel more prepared to back up Saquon Barkley heading into Week 1.

Ronnie Rivers RB | LAR
Ronnie Rivers: Waived by Seattle
The Seahawks waived Rivers on Sunday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Rivers signed with the Seahawks on Wednesday and played in Friday's preseason finale, rushing two times for six yards across three offensive snaps. The rookie undrafted running back out of Fresno State originally signed with Arizona before being let go in mid-August.

Breece Hall RB | NYJ
Jets' Breece Hall: Carries five times
Hall rushed five times for 13 yards in Sunday's 31-27 preseason win over the Giants.
Hall played the first quarter in New York's final tune-up for the regular season, rotating with teammate Michael Carter. While both running backs are expected to feature in the Jets' first-team offense, Hall's combination of size and speed could make him one of the more dynamic offensive rookies over the course of the campaign.

Elijah Mitchell RB | PHI
49ers' Elijah Mitchell: Back on practice field
Mitchell (hamstring) returned to practice Sunday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
It's unclear how much work Mitchell may be able to handle in individual and team work, but he was spotted going through agility drills in the portion of the session open to the media. He didn't play at all this preseason as he tended to a hamstring issue that has kept him sidelined from practice since at least Aug. 10, but he now appears to be ramping up his activity with an aim to be available for a Week 1 road matchup with the Bears on Sept. 11 against the Bears. Once healthy, Mitchell will serve as the 49ers' unquestioned No. 1 running back.

Abram Smith RB | MIN
Abram Smith: Waived by New Orleans
The Saints waived Smith on Sunday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Smith signed with the Saints this offseason as an undrafted free agent out of Baylor, where he registered 1,601 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns as the team's primary bellcow. However, he finds himself among the first wave of cuts ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline.

Khari Blasingame FB | PHI
Bears' Khari Blasingame: One rushing attempt
Blasingame had one carry for six yards in the Bears' 21-20 win against the Browns on Saturday.
Blasingame played with the first-string offense when the Bears had a fullback on the field. With it looking like the Bears will roster a fullback, he seems likely to make the regular-season roster. However, he may not see more than a rushing attempt or two in any given week.
