  • Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Garners 118 total yards in win

Edwards-Helaire rushed eight times for 74 yards and brought in all four targets for 44 yards in the Chiefs' 27-24 win over the Chargers on Thursday night.

Edwards-Helaire made several impressive plays in the passing game and then ripped off a game-long 52-yard run while also drawing a 15-yard face mask penalty on the first play of the Chiefs' penultimate possession to help set up a critical field goal. The third-year back has just 15 carries through two games, but with those totes netting 116 yards and another 77 yards and a pair of scores through the air, Edwards-Helaire has still afforded fantasy managers meaningful production. He'll aim to keep churning out strong numbers in a Week 3 road clash with the Colts a week from Sunday.

  • Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Falls back to limited practice

Walker (hernia) was limited at Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

During Week 1 prep, Walker was held out of practice entirely as he continued his recovery from a mid-August hernia procedure. This week, he kicked it off with a full session Wednesday, only to downgrade slightly one day later. The development may have been maintenance-related to ensure Walker gets to the weekend ready for his pro debut. Still, his activity level and eventual designation, or lack thereof, on Friday's injury report will provide insight into whether or not active status is possible Sunday at San Francisco. If Walker is available this weekend, the rookie second-round pick could be eased into action, especially with Rashaad Penny entrenched at the top of the depth chart.

  • Chargers' Isaiah Spiller: Inactive for Week 2

Spiller is inactive for Thursday night's game against Kansas City.

With Spiller the odd man out for now, the Chargers' Week 2 backfield is slated to be led by Austin Ekeler, with Joshua Kelley and Sony Michel on hand to handle complementary work versus the Chiefs.

  • Ronald Jones RB | DAL

Chiefs' Ronald Jones: Sitting again Thursday

Jones (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Chargers, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.

Like he was Week 1, Jones is the odd man out in the Chiefs backfield for a second consecutive contest. The team instead will roll with Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerick McKinnon and Isiah Pacheco at running back Thursday.

  • Falcons' Damien Williams: Another DNP on Thursday

Williams (ribs) didn't practice Thursday, Ashton Edmunds of the Falcons' official site reports.

Williams missed a good portion of the Falcons' Week 1 loss to the Saints due to a rib injury, which he called sore Monday, according to Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com. So far, Williams hasn't stepped on the practice field during Week 2 prep, but he has one more chance to do so Friday. If he's limited or out Sunday at the Rams, Williams will yield complementary backfield reps to Avery Williams and Tyler Allgeier behind starter Cordarrelle Patterson.

  • J.K. Dobbins RB | DEN

Ravens' J.K. Dobbins: Another full practice

    Dobbins (knee) practiced fully Thursday.

Back-to-back full sessions have Dobbins trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's game against the Dolphins. That said, it's still plausible that the running back -- who suffered a season-ending ACL tear before the start of the 2021 campaign -- ends up officially listed as questionable by the Ravens ahead of Week 2 action. Friday's final injury report of the week thus is destined to determine whether Dobbins heads into the weekend carrying an injury designation or fully cleared to play.

  • Salvon Ahmed RB | CHI

Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Returns to practice

Ahmed (heel) was able to log a limited practice Thursday, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.

Ahmed was unable to practice Wednesday and was inactive for Week 1 against the Patriots. Even if Ahmed is healthy enough to suit up Sunday against the Ravens, it's possible he'd be a healthy inactive, as he's behind Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert and Myles Gaskin on the team's running back depth chart.

  • Ronnie Rivers RB | LAR

Ronnie Rivers: Signs with practice squad

Rivers was signed to the Rams' practice squad Thursday.

Rivers went undrafted out of Fresno State in 2022 and has since spent time with the Cardinals and Seahawks. He now finds another opportunity with the Rams. In a corresponding move, fellow practice squad member Trey Ragas (undisclosed) was placed on the injured list.

  • D'Andre Swift RB | CHI

Lions' D'Andre Swift: Misses practice again Thursday

Swift (ankle) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice.

Swift played through an ankle sprain this past Sunday against the Eagles, turning 15 carries into 144 yards and one touchdown and hauling in all three targets for 31 yards. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson told Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press on Thursday that he didn't know Swift was banged up Week 1 and didn't change his play calling as a result. Despite that assertion, the Lions have kept Swift on the sideline for both sessions during Week 2 prep, leaving his status up in the air for Sunday's game versus the Commanders. For his part, Swift has downplayed the issue, saying that he'll "most definitely" be ready for Sunday, according to Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com.

  • Najee Harris RB | LAC

    Steelers' Najee Harris: Practices fully

Harris (foot) returned to a full practice Thursday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.

Harris, who was limited during Wednesday's session, has been indicating that he'll be good to go Sunday against the Patriots, and his full practice participation Thursday suggests that the Steelers' clear-cut top back won't have any limitations Week 2. In Pittsburgh's season-opening 23-20 overtime win over the Bengals, Harris logged 37 snaps on offense en route to carrying 10 times for 23 yards and catching two passes for three yards and a TD, while top backup Jaylen Warren rushed three times for seven yards in the contest.
