Chase Edmonds RB | WAS
Dolphins' Chase Edmonds: Receiving score in loss
Edmonds rushed five times for six yards and brought in two of three targets for 14 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' 27-15 loss to the Bengals on Thursday night.
Edmonds logged 10 fewer carries than backfield mate Raheem Mostert, but he was able to find the end zone for the third time in the last two games via a seven-yard touchdown reception with seven seconds remaining in the first half. Edmonds has generated just 85 yards on 28 carries over his first four games, but he does have a pair of rushing scores along with Thursday's receiving touchdown, his first of the season. Edmonds figures to remain in a complementary role, albeit one that includes a solid red-zone presence thus far, irrespective of whether it's Tua Tagovailoa (head/neck) or Teddy Bridgewater under center for a Week 5 AFC East road showdown against the Jets a week from Sunday.

Raheem Mostert RB | LV
Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Racks up 123 total yards in loss
Mostert rushed 15 times for 69 yards and secured two of three targets for 12 yards in the Dolphins' 27-15 loss to the Bengals on Thursday night. He also returned two kickoffs for 42 yards.
Mostert served as the clear lead back on the night, outpacing backfield mate Chase Edmonds by 10 carries while matching his two catches and three targets. Mostert's workload on the ground was a season high, which also led to a new 2022 high-water mark in rushing yardage. He could have an elevated role once again in a Week 5 road showdown against the Jets a week from Sunday particularly if Teddy Bridgewater draws a start over Tua Tagovailoa (head/neck), considering head coach Mike McDaniel might run a bit more of a ground-based attack and Mostert could also play a key role as a safety-valve receiving option for the veteran backup.

Joe Mixon RB | HOU
Bengals' Joe Mixon: Toughs out heavy workload Thursday
Mixon rushed 24 times for 61 yards and a touchdown and brought in all four targets for 13 yards in the Bengals' 27-15 win over the Dolphins on Thursday night.
As expected, Mixon couldn't find much room against a Dolphins team that had been stingy against the run and operating behind an offensive line that had struggled to open any lanes over the first three games. However, the veteran back toughed it out while handling his second-highest volume on the ground this season, and he salvaged his fantasy night with a five-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to open the scoring for the Bengals. Mixon also notched his second-highest reception total over the first four games, and he'll likely shoulder another heavy workload in a Week 5 road divisional showdown with the Ravens a week from Sunday.

Boston Scott RB | PIT
Eagles' Boston Scott: Another DNP on Thursday
Scott (rib) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice.
Scott is a distant third in terms of offensive snaps (36) behind Miles Sanders (112) and Kenneth Gainwell (60) through three games. While Scott has nearly matched Gainwell in touches, 11-13, the former now is in danger of sitting out Week 4 entirely. Scott at least has Friday's practice to make his presence felt, but if he's inactive Sunday against the Jaguars, Trey Sermon likely will be available as the Eagles' third running back.

Dameon Pierce RB | PHI
Texans' Dameon Pierce: Full practice Thursday
Pierce (hip) returned to a full practice Thursday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Pierce logged a limited practice Wednesday, but his return to full participation puts the 2022 fourth-rounder on track to lead the Texans' backfield Sunday against the Chargers. In his team's 23-20 loss to the Bears in Week 3, Pierce was Houston's clear-cut top back, recording 20 carries for 80 yards and a TD to go along with two catches for 21 yards. He did fumble twice in the contest, but both were recovered by the Texans. As long as that's not a recurring issue for the rookie, Pierce should maintain solid volume in the weeks ahead, with Rex Burkhead on hand to work in a change-of-pace role.

J.K. Dobbins RB | DEN
Ravens' J.K. Dobbins: Practices fully
Dobbins (chest) practiced fully Thursday.
Dobbins, who made his season debut in Week 3 against the Patriots after returning from a major knee injury, was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a chest injury, but his full participation Thursday paves the way for the 2020 second-rounder to play Sunday against the Bills. After being limited to 27 snaps and seven carries in his return to action this past weekend, Dobbins could see an uptick in touches in Week 4, with Justice Hill -- who logged six carries for 60 yards versus New England -- also poised to be a factor in the Baltimore's backfield mix versus Buffalo.
-
AJ Dillon RB | CAR
Packers' AJ Dillon: Returns to full practice
Dillon (knee) was a full practice participant Thursday.
Dillon made a surprise showing on Wednesday's practice report as limited with a knee issue, but in the end it wasn't cause for concern ahead of Sunday's contest against the Patriots. His efficiency on the ground has been lacking through three games -- 3.5 YPC on 40 rushes -- but he's supplemented his stat line with eight catches (on 12 targets) for 58 yards while scoring one TD on the ground.

Cordarrelle Patterson RB | PIT
Falcons' Cordarrelle Patterson: Rested for second straight practice
The Falcons withheld Patterson from a second straight practice for rest-related reasons, Ashton Edmunds of the team's official site reports.
Officially, the Falcons attributed Patterson's absence to "resting player/knee" on their Week 4 injury report, so his lack of on-field work may not have been entirely for maintenance purposes. Moreover, Atlanta held a non-padded practice Thursday, so Patterson wouldn't have taken contact even if he had participated. At this stage, head coach Arthur Smith hasn't suggested that Patterson is at risk of missing Sunday's game against the Falcons, but fantasy managers will still want to keep an eye on news pertaining to the 31-year-old as the weekend approaches. Patterson is coming off a career-best 141-yard rushing performance in last week's win over the Seahawks.
-
Miles Sanders RB | DAL
Eagles' Miles Sanders: Gets back to full participation
Sanders (hip) practiced fully Thursday.
One day removed from being a limited practice participant due to a hip issue, Sanders logged every rep Thursday, implying Wednesday's cap on his reps was for maintenance-related reasons. He's thus clear to lead the Eagles backfield Sunday against the Jaguars, which so far has equated to 51 touches for 235 yards from scrimmage and one rushing TD in three games this season.
-
Jonathan Taylor RB | IND
Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Practices fully Thursday
Taylor (toe) returned to a full practice Thursday.
After Taylor sat out Wednesday's session, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network suggested that the running back's absence was precautionary. With his return to a full practice Thursday, Taylor is now slated to continue to lead the Colts backfield Sunday against the Titans. Three games into the season, he's logged a total of 61 carries and 13 targets, while Indy's change-of-pace back Nyheim Hines has recorded seven carries and 17 targets in that span.
