  • Saints' Latavius Murray: Up to active roster

Murray was elevated to the Saints' active roster Saturday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

The Saints already ruled out quarterback Jameis Winston (back/ankle/hip) and wide receiver Michael Thomas (foot) ahead of Sunday's game in London, and it's possible the move to call up Murray might be in conjunction with the status of Alvin Kamara, who is listed as questionable with an ongoing ribs injury. If Murray were to be officially active for Sunday's game, it would mark his second stint with the Saints after playing with them across the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

  • Julius Chestnut: Exits Tennessee

Chestnut has been waived by the Titans, John Glennon of SI.com reports.

Assuming Chestnut clears waivers, he will be a likely candidate to land back on Tennessee's practice squad. He did not see any offensive snaps during the first three weeks of the season.

  • Bears' Darrynton Evans: Elevated by Bears

Evans has been elevated to the Bears' active roster ahead of their Week 4 matchup with the Giants, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.

With David Montgomery (ankle) sidelined, Evans has been called up to help provide depth at running back. Khalil Herbert is expected to see the lion's share of the workload, but Evans will be available to back him up alongside Trestan Ebner.

  • Lions' Jamaal Williams: Primed for start, lead role

Williams is on track to lead the Detroit backfield with D'Andre Swift (shoulder) ruled out for Sunday's game against Seattle, Colton Pouncy of The Athletic reports.

Williams has been busy coming off the bench behind a banged-up Swift, averaging 14.3 carries for 56.0 yards and 1.3 TDs through three weeks. He's been targeted just five times, but Williams figures to see far more passing-down work with Swift sidelined, as Craig Reynolds is more likely to sub in for run plays. The Lions also have Justin Jackson as an option, but it's Williams who projects to get the start, take double-digit touches and play over half the snaps. There's also a chance it happens again Week 5, with the Lions potentially putting Swift on ice until after their Week 6 bye.

  • Khalil Herbert RB | NYJ

Bears' Khalil Herbert: Set to lead backfield

Herbert's teammate David Montgomery (ankle/knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's road game against the Giants.

Herbert rumbled for 157 rushing yards and two TDs last week with Montgomery leaving early against the Texans, playing 60 percent of snaps on offense to Trestan Ebner's 24 percent. Herbert also did well last season over a four-game stretch when Montgomery was injured, averaging 19.5 carries for 86 yards and 0.25 TDs and 2.3 catches for 11.0 yards on 2.5 targets. That type of workload isn't out of the question Sunday, as the Bears have been the most run-heavy team in the NFL by nearly any metric, attempting 34 fewer passes than any other team. The concern for Herbert is that they haven't scored much, with his two TDs last week accounting for one-third of the team's scores this year. Even with concerns about the offensive environment around him, Herbert's running ability and volume projection makes him a top-20 RB play for Week 5.

  • Boston Scott RB | PIT

Eagles' Boston Scott: Won't suit up Sunday

Scott (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.

After missing all three practices this week due to a rib injury, Scott unsurprisingly won't be available to Philly's offense Week 4. While Miles Sanders has been the team's unquestioned No. 1 running back this season, the second and third options have received snaps and touches. Kenneth Gainwell figures to remain the No. 2 back on Sunday, with Trey Sermon active for the first time as an Eagle.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Broncos' Melvin Gordon: Set to play Sunday

Gordon (neck) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game in Las Vegas.

Gordon operated under some practice limitations Wednesday and Thursday, but after going through all drills to end Week 4 prep, he's clear for Sunday. On the season, he's been well behind backfield mate Javonte Williams in both snap share (55.3 to 37.2 percent) and touches (52-42), but Gordon at least has visited the end zone one time through three games (Williams has no TDs).

  • D'Andre Swift RB | CHI

Lions' D'Andre Swift: Officially ruled out

Swift (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Seattle, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Swift didn't practice at all this week, and reports suggest he could be held out through the Lions' Week 6 bye. The team hasn't commented on expectations beyond the current week, in which Jamaal Williams will lead the team's backfield against a weak Seattle defense. Craig Reynolds figures to get some carries off the bench, with Justin Jackson potentially having a role as well, but Williams becomes a top-20 play at RB with Swift out of the picture versus such a vulnerable defense.

  • Ronald Jones RB | DAL

Chiefs' Ronald Jones: Ready to go for Week 4

Jones (illness) was a full participant at practice Friday.

Jones will be ready to go for the Chiefs' Week 4 matchup against his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That being said, he has yet to play a snap this season and remains firmly buried on Kansas City's depth chart.

  • Bears' David Montgomery: Out this week

Montgomery (ankle/knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Montgomery hasn't practiced since his early exit from a Week 3 win over Houston. His departure set up a career-best showing from Khalil Herbert, who is inferior to Montgomery as a blocker and receiver but arguably superior as a pure runner. Trestan Ebner took over the backup role after Montgomery's departure last week, while Darrynton Evans could be called up from the practice squad before Sunday. Herbert figures to start and get the bulk of carries.
