  • James Cook RB | BUF

Bills' James Cook: Keeps No. 2 role in Week 9

Cook took four carries for 15 yards and gathered in two of four targets for 18 yards during Sunday's 20-17 loss at the Jets.

Despite the addition of Nyheim Hines from the Colts prior to last week's trade deadline, Cook remained the No. 2 running back in terms of usage Week 9, at least for one game. Devin Singletary paced the Bills backfield with 12 touches on a 74 percent snap share, Cook had six touches while playing 23 percent of the plays, and Hines didn't have a rush and couldn't haul in his only target on four offensive snaps. The script may flip as Hines grows more accustomed to the playbook, but for the time being Cook may have retained some utility in what typically is a high-powered offense.

  • Samaje Perine RB | CIN

Bengals' Samaje Perine: More work in blowout win

Perine had six carries for 51 yards and one catch for three more yards in Sunday's romp over Carolina.

Perine was able to play 25 offensive snaps, with Joe Mixon resting after scoring a whopping five times. The Bengals rested most of their offensive starters with a little under 4:00 remaining in the third quarter.

  • Gus Edwards RB | LAC

Ravens' Gus Edwards: Eyeing return in Week 11

Coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday that the Ravens "plan" for Edwards (hamstring) to be available Week 11 against the Panthers, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Baltimore currently is on bye, so Edwards seemingly will use the respite to put himself in a position to play for the first time since Week 8, when he sustained a minor right hamstring issue. He was held out Monday at New Orleans, which allowed Kenyan Drake to lead the backfield to the tune of 24 carries for 93 yards and two touchdowns and two catches (on two targets) for 16 yards. Edwards' listing on Ravens injury reports next week will be telling for his chances to join Drake as available to the team's ground-based attack.

  • Chuba Hubbard RB | CAR

Panthers' Chuba Hubbard: Full practice Tuesday

Hubbard (ankle) practiced in full Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Hubbard attempted to give it a go last week, when he logged limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday, but he was a DNP on Friday and ruled out for Carolina's Week 9 visit to Cincinnati. Now with a full practice under his belt this week, he's poised to return to the lineup Thursday against the Falcons following a two-game absence. With Christian McCaffrey out of town, Hubbard and D'Onta Foreman are the top candidates for touches out of the Panthers backfield. Whether or not Hubbard can wrest a bigger share of the reps away from Foreman remains to be seen, but Hubbard has reeled off 6.5 YPC on his 15 rushes this season without the benefit of a 20-plus yard run, so he could make a decent impact with a modest workload.

  • Chuba Hubbard RB | CAR

Panthers' Chuba Hubbard: Seen at practice Tuesday

Hubbard (ankle) was present at the media-access portion of Tuesday's practice, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.

In the wake of back-to-back absences due to an ankle injury, Hubbard was listed as limited on Monday's estimated practice report. Now that the Panthers are logging some on-field work during Week 10 prep, he seems in line to be at least a limited participant Tuesday. Still, Hubbard's status is up in the air as the team prepares for Thursday's game against the Falcons. If he gains clearance to play, there's a decent chance he'd play second fiddle to D'Onta Foreman, who has two 100-yard efforts on the ground in the last three contests.

  • Isiah Pacheco RB | DET

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Minimal output Sunday night

Pacheco recorded five carries for five yards and caught his only target for four yards during Sunday's 20-17 overtime victory over the Titans.

Pacheco started the game but finished the night with only 22 total offensive snaps (22 percent), surpassing Clyde Edwards-Helaire (17 snaps) but falling well short of Jerick McKinnon (62 snaps). Game script played a role in this snap distribution, with McKinnon being the team's primary passing-down back and Kansas City trailing for much of the second half. Still, it's worth noting that McKinnon played the entire overtime drive when the game was even. Regardless, it's a fluid Chiefs backfield situation where none of the trio holds a consistent weekly value from a fantasy perspective.

  • Cardinals' Keaontay Ingram: Tallies one carry in Week 9

Ingram had a two-yard carry during Sunday's 31-21 defeat to the Seahawks.

With James Conner sidelined Weeks 6 to 8 due to a rib injury, Ingram got a bit of run on offense, notching 12 carries for 21 yards and a touchdown and hauling in both targets for 23 yards. But Conner returned to the lineup Week 9 and paced the Cardinals backfield with a 71 percent snap share and 12 touches, while Eno Benjamin moved back to a reserve role (27 percent, five touches). That left just one offensive play for Ingram, which leaves the rookie sixth-round pick on the outside looking in for reps as long as Conner is available.

  • Justice Hill RB | BAL

Ravens' Justice Hill: Pushed aside by Drake

Hill had four carries for 11 yards in Monday's win over the Saints and caught his only target for eight yards.

Even with Gus Edwards (hamstring) out, Hill's role didn't increase in Week 9. Kenyan Drake dominated the backfield work as he played 68 percent of the snaps and took 24 carries for 93 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Hill's role appears tenuous even with J.K. Dobbins (knee) on the shelf, and if Edwards is ready to play after the Ravens' Week 10 bye, Hill's role could diminish further.

  • Chargers' Isaiah Spiller: Just seven carries in win

Spiller carried the ball seven times for 29 yards in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Falcons.

With the Chargers missing both of their top pass catchers, the team resorted to a bit of an unorthodox offense that saw Justin Herbert attempt a plethora of passes while Austin Ekeler still accounted for his usual 20 to 25 touches. That meant Spiller saw a bit less work than the platooned backup role tends to get, but it is notable the rookie out-snapped the veteran Sony Michel. It appears as if Spiller has officially replaced Michel as the No. 2 back, but it's worth noting nominal backup Joshua Kelley (knee) is eligible to return off injured reserve in two weeks.

  • Kenyan Drake RB | GB

Ravens' Kenyan Drake: Headlines win over Saints

Drake rushed the ball 24 times for 93 yards and two touchdowns in Monday's 27-13 win over the Saints. He added two receptions for 16 yards.

In the absence of Gus Edwards (hamstring) and J.K. Dobbins (knee), Drake dominated carries out of the Baltimore backfield. Though he averaged only 3.9 yards per carry, he managed two rushes of more than 10 yards and also tallied touchdowns of one and three yards. Despite the strong performance, Drake's value could be in jeopardy moving forward as the Baltimore backfield will have the chance to get healthy with the team heading into its Week 10 bye.
