Jordan Mason RB | MIN
49ers' Jordan Mason: Could take over backup role
Mason rushed five times for 25 yards in Sunday's 13-0 win over the Saints.
Mason was used on the final drive of the game with the 49ers up multiple scores for the second week in a row. Unlike last week's garbage time appearance against the Cardinals, the undrafted rookie was actually needed after No. 2 back Elijah Mitchell (knee) went down late in this contest. Starter Christian McCaffrey was dealing with knee soreness as well, but the former's is expected to be more serious. It sounds like Mitchell will be forced to miss some time again, and CMC doesn't have the build to handle a 20-plus touch workload, so Mason could step into a prominent backup role in head coach Kyle Shanahan's run-heavy offensive scheme. If that were to be the case, the Georgia Tech product should absorb a chunk of Mitchell's carries in next Sunday's showdown against the Dolphins.

Kyren Williams RB | LAR
Rams' Kyren Williams: Modest numbers against KC
Williams carried the ball 11 times for 35 yards and caught all three of his targets for 25 yards in Sunday's 26-10 loss to Kansas City.
He saw the most carries of any Rams player, but both Cam Akers (37) and quarterback Bryce Perkins (44) produced more rushing yards on their totes. Williams did make up for it by tying for the team lead in receptions, however. With the Los Angeles offense in complete disarray, neither Williams nor Akers figure to have much fantasy appeal in Week 13 against the Seahawks -- even against a defense that just coughed up over 300 combined yards to Josh Jacobs.

Cam Akers RB | SEA
Rams' Cam Akers: Little volume in loss
Akers carried the ball eight times for 37 yards in Sunday's 26-10 loss to Kansas City.
While he led the Rams' running backs in rushing yards, quarterback Bryce Perkins out-gained Akers on the ground, and rookie Kyren Williams wound up with more scrimmage yards. With the Los Angeles offense in complete disarray, neither RB figures to have much fantasy appeal in Week 13 against the Seahawks -- even against a defense that just coughed up over 300 combined yards to Josh Jacobs.

Kenneth Walker III RB | KC
Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Finds end zone twice against Vegas
Walker carried the ball 14 times for 26 yards and two touchdowns while catching his only target for 13 yards in Sunday's 40-34 overtime loss to the Raiders.
For the second straight game, Walker was largely held in check, and 12 of his runs netted him a total of zero yards. Fortunately, the other two resulted in a 12-yard TD in the first quarter and a 14-yard score in the third. Seattle's rookie RB will look to produce more yards in Week 13 against a Rams defense that just had trouble containing fellow first-year back Isiah Pacheco.

Gus Edwards RB | LAC
Ravens' Gus Edwards: Leads Baltimore backfield
Edwards rushed the ball 16 times for 52 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-27 loss to Jacksonville.
Edwards dominated work out of the Baltimore backfield, as no other running back recorded more than two carries in the game. His actual performance wasn't all that inspiring and was largely salvaged by a one-yard touchdown plunge late in the fourth quarter. Edwards was inefficient and also lost a key fumble moments after his touchdown, which led directly to Baltimore's loss. Until J.K. Dobbins (knee) is able to return, the team doesn't have great options to supplant Edwards as the lead back, so he should continue to see consistent work for the time being.

Tyler Allgeier RB | ARI
Falcons' Tyler Allgeier: Records 54 yards
Allgeier rushed the ball 11 times for 54 yards in Sunday's 19-13 loss to the Commanders.
Allgeier matched Cordarrelle Patterson for the team lead in carries, and he was fairly efficient with his opportunity. His day was highlighted by gains of 15 and 11 yards, which helped him top 50 rushing yards for the second consecutive game. Though Allgeier has a consistent role in Atlanta's offense, he isn't likely to see a spike in usage barring the absence of Patterson.

Josh Jacobs RB | GB
Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Caps huge day with winning TD
Jacobs carried the ball 33 times for 229 yards and two touchdowns while catching six of seven targets for 74 yards in Sunday's 40-34 overtime win over the Seahawks.
Despite being sidelined for the final four-plus minutes of the fourth quarter while being checked out for a possible calf injury, Jacobs returned to action in OT and put an exclamation mark on a career-best performance by rumbling 86 yards for the game-winning score. As if his production on the ground wasn't enough, the running back also tied Davante Adams for the team lead in receiving yards. Jacobs has recorded five games with triple-digit rushing yards and three with multiple rushing touchdowns in the Raiders' last eight contests, and he figures to post big numbers again in Week 13 against a Chargers defense that's among the league's worst against the run.

Antonio Gibson RB | NE
Commanders' Antonio Gibson: Step back in usage
Gibson rushed the ball nine times for 32 yards in Sunday's 19-13 win over the Falcons. He added three receptions for 22 yards.
Brian Robinson led the Washington backfield with 22 touches, well outpacing Gibson. Gibson did make some notable contributions in the game, highlighted by a 14-yard reception in the middle of the second quarter to put the Commanders into field-goal position. He similarly ripped off a 10-yard run early in the fourth quarter to set up another field goal that ultimately put Washington up by six. Game script and weather likely had a lot to do with Gibson's decline in usage, though it's clear that he remains in a timeshare with Robinson for work out of the team's backfield.

Dare Ogunbowale RB | HOU
Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Scores in loss
Ogunbowale had four carries for 14 yards, caught one of two targets for six yards and had a three-yard rushing touchdown in Sunday's 30-15 loss to the Dolphins in Week 12.
The Texans continued a trend of poor first halves, falling behind 30-0 and putting a damper on Dameon Pierce's day (five carries, eight yards). That meant more playing time for Ogunbowale and Rex Burkhead, who eventually left with a head injury. When all is going right, which is rare for Houston's offense, Pierce gets the bulk of the rushing opportunities. If Burkhead misses time, Ogunbowale or the recently claimed Eno Benjamin (inactive Sunday) would become the top backup.

Christian McCaffrey RB | SF
49ers' Christian McCaffrey: Dealt with knee soreness in win
McCaffrey rushed 11 times for 32 yards and caught four of six targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 13-0 win over the Saints.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan stated that McCaffrey was dealing with knee soreness during the shutout win, which helps explain his meager production with 15 touches. The 26-year-old has a poor history with lower body injuries, so there is some reason for concern for fantasy managers. On a bright note, McCaffrey never officially went down with an injury and was being used on the 49ers' final drive to ice out the win. Elijah Mitchell (knee) might not have been as fortunate after leaving the contest in the second half and never returning. Assuming McCaffrey can overcome this bout with knee soreness, he could be in line for a heavy workload against the Dolphins on Sunday.
