  • Bears' Khari Blasingame: Staying in Chicago for two years

Blasingame's agency announced Wednesday that the fullback re-signed with the Bears on a two-year deal.

Blasingame operated exclusively as a blocker while appearing in 16 games for the Bears in 2022, logging just one target and no carries across 168 snaps on offense.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Receives franchise tag

The Giants placed their franchise tag on Barkley on Tuesday, ESPN.com reports.

Meanwhile, the Giants agreed to a four-year contract with Daniel Jones, freeing the tag up for Barkley. Under the terms of his non-exclusive franchise tender, the star running back is in line to make $10.09 million in 2023. This past season, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft logged 295 carries for 1,312 yards and 10 TDs, to go along with 57 catches for 338 yards in 16 games with New York.

  • Josh Jacobs RB | GB

Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Tagged by Las Vegas

The Raiders assigned their franchise tag to Jacobs on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The transaction was expected all along, as the tag keeps Jacobs from hitting the open market next week and allows the two sides to keep talking for the next four months in hopes of coming to terms on a multi-year deal. Jacobs is coming off a career year in which he rushed 340 times for a league-high 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also added 400 receiving yards on 53 catches. Jacobs should again be a fantasy difference-maker in 2023 as the centerpiece of the Las Vegas offense.

  • Tony Pollard RB | TEN

Cowboys' Tony Pollard: Officially franchise tagged

The Cowboys placed the franchise tag on Pollard (ankle) on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The transaction sets Pollard up to play out the 2023 campaign on a one-year, $10.1 million dollar contract, though both sides have until July to keep negotiating on a long-term agreement. Pollard being franchise tagged has widely been the expected outcome out of Dallas, and the team could still attempt to work out a restructure with Ezekiel Elliott this offseason. In any case, with Pollard reportedly on track for training camp after undergoing ankle surgery in late January, he enters his age-26 season in prime position to be a difference-maker for fantasy purposes. He broke out with a career-high 1,378 yards from scrimmage and 12 total touchdowns across 16 games while sharing the backfield with Elliot last season.

  • Jeff Wilson RB | MIA

Dolphins' Jeff Wilson: Wants back in Miami

Wilson said Monday he hopes to re-sign with the Dolphins, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.

Wilson signed agent Drew Rosenhaus as his new representative and said he "hopes it's very likely" he returns to Miami for the 2023 season. The Dolphins made a midseason trade with the 49ers last year to acquire Wilson in exchange for a fifth-round pick, and the 27-year-old logged an efficient 4.7 YPC and three touchdowns in eight games with his new team. With Raheem Mostert also a pending free agent, it could make sense for Miami to bring back one or both of the veteran backs, both of whom are extensively familiar with coach Mike McDaniel's scheme.

  • Ricky Person: Parts ways with Baltimore

The Ravens waived Person (undisclosed) from their reserve/left squad list Feb. 28, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Person was designated as exempt in July 2022 after signing with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of NC State. He didn't appear in any games during the 2022 campaign, and his NFL future is unclear at this point.

  • Josh Jacobs RB | GB

Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Likely to get the franchise tag

The Raiders plan to place the franchise tag on Jacobs if the sides can't reach a long-term deal by Tuesday's deadline, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports.

Jacobs always seemed unlikely to leave Las Vegas after leading the league in rushing in his first season under coach Josh McDaniels. The Raiders can make him try and prove it again on a one-year, fully-guaranteed tag if they don't feel comfortable making Jacobs one of the highest-paid running backs in the league. At the moment, it appears as though Jacobs will remain with the Raiders for 2023 under any scenario.

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Trial set for July 31

Kamara has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit battery and substantial bodily harm stemming from a February 2022 incident, Michael Baca of NFL.com reports.

The report relays that Kamara's trial is set for July 31, with Patrick Magee of the New Orleans Times-Picayune noting that the timing of the scheduled proceedings could impact the running back's attendance at training camp practice. With regard to Kamara's status for the coming season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggests that in the event that Kamara is found guilty, discipline from the league would likely come in 2023. In 15 games with the Saints during the 2022 campaign, Kamara carried 223 times for 897 yards and two TDs to go along with 57 catches for 490 yards and a pair of receiving scores.

  • Lions' Jamaal Williams: Mutual interest in new contract

General manager Brad Holmes said Wednesday that Williams and the Lions have begun negotiations on a new contract with mutual interest, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

Williams is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in roughly two weeks, but Holmes said contract negotiations have already begun and "there's a mutual interest to hopefully get [Williams] back." The veteran running back, who will turn 28 in April, had a career-high 1,066 rushing yards across 17 games in 2022 and led the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns, and has clearly demonstrated an ability to excel in Detroit's scheme. Williams has additionally made it clear that he would like to remain with the Lions, so there's reason to believe that both sides could come to terms on an agreeable deal.

  • James Cook RB | BUF

Bills' James Cook: Expected to see more work in 2023

Bills GM Brandon Beane said Cook is expected to a bigger part of the offense in 2023, according to Matt Lombardo of Heavy.com.

"We're excited about Cook, and looking forward to what he can do in Year 2, especially with an expanded workload and more touches," Beane said Tuesday. With Devin Singletary slated for free agency this offseason, Cook has a chance to carve out the lead-back job in Buffalo after he averaged 5.7 yards per carry on 89 rushes as a rookie. The Bills will very likely add to their backfield this offseason, but Cook's fantasy arrow is pointing upward.
