  • Bills' Darrynton Evans: Getting let go

Evans was waived by the Bills on Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Evans came aboard when the team lost Nyheim Hines (knee) for the season, but ultimately, the 25-year-old Evans was unable to push past Ty Johnson and Latavius Murray for the team's No. 3 running back spot. He'll now have to seek out a chance with another franchise.

  • Commanders' Jonathan Williams: Likely headed for IR

Williams (undisclosed) is expected to be placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Williams was working to earn the team's No. 3 running back role behind Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson, but instead, he might end up spending the 2023 campaign on the shelf.

  • Jake Bargas RB | NO

Jake Bargas: Let go by Saints

New Orleans cut Bargas on Monday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Bargas signed with the Saints in May after spending all of last season as a free agent. The 26-year-old fullback didn't log any rushing attempts during exhibition play, though he did catch his only target for two yards. He'll now be free to pursue an opportunity with another organization, or he could land on New Orleans' practice squad.

  • Hassan Haskins RB | LAC

Titans' Hassan Haskins: Placed on IR

The Titans placed Haskins (undisclosed) on injured reserve Monday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

Haskins had been dealing with an undisclosed injury, but now that he's on IR, Tyjae Spears profiles as the Titans' top backup behind lead back Derrick Henry to start the coming season. Also in the team's depth mix are Julius Chestnut and Jacques Patrick, but it's possible that further moves could be made to fortify Tennessee's backfield ahead of Week 1.

  • Patrick Laird: Let go by Bucs

The Buccaneers released Laird on Monday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

Laird was the fifth running back on Tampa Bay's depth chart, rendering this move relatively unsurprising. While he was unable to secure a role on the 53-man roster, it is still possible for him to get an opportunity on the team's practice squad. If that does not come to fruition, the 28-year-old will look for a fresh start elsewhere. He primarily played a depth running back role in Miami during his first three seasons.

  • Abram Smith RB | MIN

Abram Smith: Let go from team

Smith was waived by the Vikings on Monday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

Smith signed with Minnesota on Aug. 3 after leading the XFL in rushing this past season. However, the Baylor product wasn't able to push his way up the team's positional depth chart enough to make the 53-man roster. He'll now work to find another opportunity.

  • Jonathan Ward: Gets let go

Ward (knee) was waived by the Titans with an injury designation Monday, Nick Suss of the Nashville Tennessean reports.

Ward suffered the injury during a preseason contest Aug. 12 against the Bears and was unable to practice with the team after. Assuming he can clear waivers, the 25-year-old will revert to IR upon doing so.

  • Zonovan Knight RB | ARI

Zonovan Knight: Cut loose by Jets

The Jets are waiving Knight on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Knight stuck with the team as an undrafted rookie last year and eventually made four starts, but he tumbled down the depth chart this offseason behind Breece Hall (knee), Dalvin Cook and Michael Carter. The Jets seemingly plan to keep fifth-round rookie Israel Abanikanda as their No. 4 RB.

  • Darius Hagans RB | PIT

Darius Hagans: Cut loose by Steelers

Pittsburgh waived Hagans on Monday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Hagans finds himself among a slew of roster cuts by the Steelers on Monday. The undrafted rookie out of Virginia State will get a chance to search for a depth opportunity on a practice squad elsewhere in the league if Pittsburgh doesn't ring him for a return.

  • Jaret Patterson: Let go by Washington

The Commanders are slated to waive Patterson on Monday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

Patterson made a case for a spot on Washington's final roster when he turned eight carries into 51 yards in the team's preseason finale, but he nonetheless will be subject to waivers before searching for an opportunity elsewhere. However, Patterson could have earned himself a call back via the practice squad.
