  • Jacques Patrick: Rejoins practice squad

Patrick signed with the Titans' practice squad Thursday, Ben Arthur of FoxSports.com reports.

Patrick spent time with Tennessee in training camp but was unable to make the Titans' 53-man roster. With Tyjae Spears dealing with a groin injury, the Florida State product's addition may be seen as an emergency depth option if Spears is unable to play Sunday against the Chargers. In that scenario, an elevation to the active roster may be in Patrick's future.

  • De'Von Achane RB | MIA

Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Full participant in practice

Achane was a full participant in practice Wednesday.

Achane approached this past Sunday's game against the Chargers without an injury designation, but he ended up being a healthy inactive after he missed time in the preseason due to the shoulder injury. Now that he's had some more time to practice, Achane should be ready to make his NFL debut this weekend at New England. Top back Raheem Mostert missed practice Wednesday with a knee injury, and if Mostert isn't at full health by the time Sunday rolls around, Achane could end up taking on a meaningful role right away.

  • Boston Scott RB | PIT

Eagles' Boston Scott: Could see increased role Week 2

Zach Berman of The Athletic speculates that Scott will be active along with D'Andre Swift and Rashaad Penny for Philadelphia's Week 2 contest against Minnesota on Thursday.

Scott played a minimal role on offense during a season-opening win over the Patriots, carrying once for three yards and catching his only target for seven yards. He could see more work against the Vikings on Thursday with Kenneth Gainwell (ribs) -- who was the Eagles' lead tailback Week 1 -- ruled out. However, Swift figures to step in as the starter, and Penny will likely be active after being a healthy scratch for the opener, so Scott isn't guaranteed to see enough of a workload to be a viable fantasy play.

  • Chris Evans RB | CIN

Bengals' Chris Evans: Nursing hamstring injury

Evans was a limited participant at practice Wednesday due a hamstring issue.

Evans dealt with an undisclosed injury near the end of the preseason, but it's not clear if his current issue is related. The third-year pro played a limited role as Cincinnati's No. 3 running back in the season-opening loss against Cleveland, logging six offensive snaps and finishing with two carries for 12 yards along with one reception for a one-yard loss. However, he didn't appear to be held back by the previous injury as he also served as the team's lead kickoff returner, tallying 45 yards on two returns. Given Evans' ability to take to the practice field (albeit in limited fashion) Wednesday, there's a decent chance he'll be able to play in Week 2, especially if he's able to get in a full practice session by the end of the week.

  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Wednesday absence downplayed

Mostert (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, but Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network suggests that the running back's absence was maintenance-related.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald echoed that notion, reporting Wednesday that there's "nothing of great concern percolating" with Mostert ahead of Sunday's game against the Patriots. The running back's practice activity will be worth monitoring Thursday and Friday, but as long as Mostert takes the field in some capacity the next two days, he'll be trending in the right direction for the Week 2 divisional matchup.

  • Jahmyr Gibbs RB | DET

Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Increased usage on tap

Gibbs could see an increased workload Sunday against Seattle, Benjamin Raven of MLive.com reports. "First game out of the gate, we really didn't want to overload any of those [rookies]," head coach Dan Campbell said after the Lions' season-opening win over the Chiefs. "And now they've got that one under their belt, so for Gibbs, he'll begin to get more touches now."

David Montgomery drew the starting nod at running back in Week 1 against Kansas City and went on to nearly triple Gibbs in both offensive snaps and rush attempts. The rookie was much more efficient, though, averaging six yards per rush (compared to 3.5 for Montgomery) while leading all running backs across the league in broken tackles (six), despite his light workload. While Montgomery's presence could remain a problem for his fantasy production all season long -- especially as it relates to getting goal-line carries -- Gibbs should become a more impactful fantasy asset as his usage increases.

  • Austin Ekeler RB | WAS

Chargers' Austin Ekeler: Misses Wednesday's practice

    Ekeler (ankle/personal) didn't practice Wednesday.

In addition to managing an ankle injury that he sustained during the Chargers' Week 1 loss to the Dolphins, Ekeler was also off the practice field Wednesday while he tended to a personal matter. Added context regarding the running back's status for Sunday's game against the Titans will arrive no later than Thursday's practice. Joshua Kelley would be next up for touches in the Chargers backfield this weekend backfield if Ekeler ends up sitting out.

  • Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Back at practice

Ogunbowale (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Wednesday.

Ogunbowale was unable to suit up for the team's season opener due to the injury; however, now that he's healthy, he'll have a chance to play Week 2 against the Colts. With Dameon Pierce, Devin Singletary and Mike Boone all ahead of him on the team's positional depth chart though, it's possible the Wisconsin product could be a healthy inactive.

  • Falcons' Cordarrelle Patterson: Gets back to full participation

Patterson (thigh) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports.

Patterson was sidelined from around mid-August until last Wednesday due to a soft-tissue injury that the Falcons' Week 1 practice report later revealed as a thigh issue. He was a limited participant in all three sessions last week before being listed as questionable and then ultimately hitting the inactive list for this past Sunday's game against the Panthers. With an uncapped practice under his belt, Patterson should be set to handle his "Joker" role in Atlanta's offense, which will see him working all over the formation.

  • Tyjae Spears RB | TEN

Titans' Tyjae Spears: Limited at practice Wednesday

Spears (groin) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday ahead of Sunday's game versus the Chargers, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

The exact nature of the injury he's dealing with isn't known, so it will be worth keeping an eye on Tennessee's Thursday and Friday injury reports for more clarity. If he misses time, Julius Chestnut will be in line to back up Derrick Henry.
