  • Najee Harris RB | LAC

Steelers' Najee Harris: Triple-digit scrimmage yards Sunday

Harris carried the ball 14 times for 71 yards and caught one of two targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 30-6 loss to the Texans.

The running back actually led the Steelers in receiving yards on a day when the passing game struggled even before Kenny Pickett (knee) got sidelined, and Harris also set season highs in rushing and scrimmage yards for himself. After scoring 10 TDs in each of his first two NFL campaigns, Harris is still looking for his first score of 2023, but that could be a tall task in Week 5 against a Ravens defense that has yet to allow a rushing touchdown.

  • Broncos' Jaleel McLaughlin: Productive after Williams' injury

McLaughlin rushed seven times for 72 yards while catching all three of his targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-28 win over Chicago.

McLaughlin was Denver's most effective running back after Javonte Williams' (hip) early exit, while Samaje Perine mustered only 35 scrimmage yards on six carries and two targets. McLaughlin caught an 18-yard touchdown on a screen in the first quarter, then showcased his shiftiness with a 31-yard run in the third. The 5-foot-7 undrafted rookie out of Youngstown State -- who had a touchdown run in Week 2 -- has likely earned a permanent role on offense moving forward, regardless of Williams' availability in Week 5 against the Jets.

  • Vikings' Alexander Mattison: Approaches 100 yards

Mattison rushed 17 times for 95 yards in Sunday's 21-13 win over the Panthers. He also caught his only target for three yards.

Mattison was efficient on the ground, posting season highs in rushing yards and yards per carry. The tailback has now topped 95 scrimmage yards in consecutive games, which should help his case to maintain the Vikings' starting tailback job ahead of Cam Akers, who finished with 51 yards on seven touches in his team debut Sunday.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Panthers' Miles Sanders: Low output Sunday

Sanders rushed 13 times for 19 yards and caught all three of his targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 21-13 loss to the Vikings.

Sanders overcame a groin injury to suit up Sunday, but he struggled to make a meaningful impact. In fact, Sanders' 32 scrimmage yards marked his lowest of the campaign, and he's now gone three straight weeks under the 65-yard mark. Backup Chuba Hubbard wasn't much better, gaining 53 yards on his 16 touches, evidencing Carolina's continued offensive struggles.

  • Cardinals' Keaontay Ingram: Not playing Sunday

Ingram (neck) is listed as inactive Sunday at San Francisco.

After showing up as limited on Thursday's practice report due to a neck injury, Ingram didn't practice at all Friday, resulting in a questionable tag for Week 4. Now that he won't be available to the Cardinals offense Sunday, Ingram will hand off reserve RB duties to Emari Demercado and practice-squad call-up Corey Clement behind starter James Conner.

  • 49ers' Elijah Mitchell: Takes seat Sunday

Mitchell (knee) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Cardinals, Lindsey Pallares of the 49ers' official site reports.

Mitchell was a late addition to the 49ers' Week 4 injury report after he was tripped up during Thursday's practice, as coach Kyle Shanahan told Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com on Friday. The resulting knee injury is concerning considering Mitchell sustained MCL sprains to both of his knees last season, which allowed for only five regular-season appearances. The severity of the current issue isn't known, but Mitchell will yield the No. 2 RB gig behind Christian McCaffrey in San Francisco to Jordan Mason for at least one contest.

  • Broncos' Javonte Williams: Won't return to Week 4 contest

Williams (hip) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Bears, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports

Williams played only the first two offensive drives of the day before departing with the injury and will finish with two carries for zero yards and three receptions for nine yards on three targets. Jaleel McLaughlin and Samaje Perine will serve as the Broncos' running backs for the rest of the game.

  • Austin Ekeler RB | WAS

Chargers' Austin Ekeler: Inactive Sunday, as expected

Ekeler (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's Week 4 game against the Raiders.

Ekeler's doubtful tag essentially sealed his third straight absence, and his lack of availability against Las Vegas now is official. Joshua Kelley, who's gained only 51 yards on 24 carries over the last two games as Los Angeles' lead back, once again is set to helm the Chargers backfield, while Ekeler's absence also could benefit the team's pass-catching corps in the form of some extra targets. Having practiced in a limited fashion throughout the week and with a Week 5 bye on tap, Ekeler seems like a good bet to return to action in a Week 6 Monday night home showdown against the Cowboys on Oct. 16.

  • Broncos' Javonte Williams: Exits Sunday's game

Williams was forced out of Sunday's game against the Bears with a hip injury, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Prior to his exit, Williams carried twice for zero yards and caught three passes for nine yards. In his absence, Samaje Perine and Jaleel McLaughlin are next up for the Broncos' Week 4 backfield touches.

  • Tyler Allgeier RB | ARI

Falcons' Tyler Allgeier: Role continues to dwindle

Allgeier carried the ball seven times for 16 yards and caught one of two targets for minus-4 yards in Sunday's 23-7 loss to the Jaguars.

For the second straight week, Allgeier's touches were in single digits as rookie Bijan Robinson takes firm control of the Atlanta backfield. Allgeier's done little to win back a bigger workload -- since he scored two TDs in the Falcons' opener, he's averaged just 2.5 yards per carry (76 yards on 30 totes.) However, the second-year back could do some damage even on reduced volume in Week 5 against the vulnerable Texans run defense.
