Justin Fields QB | KC
Bears' Justin Fields: Won't practice Wednesday
Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said that Fields (thumb) won't practice Wednesday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Eberflus added that he has no updates on Fields' health at this time, noting that the quarterback remains unlikely to play in Sunday's game against the Raiders. The head coach reiterated that Fields' availability to play moving forward will come down to a matter of grip strength. Assuming Fields ends up sitting out the Week 7 game versus Las Vegas, the Bears will turn to either undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent or veteran Nathan Peterman as their starter.

Gardner Minshew QB | ARI
Colts' Gardner Minshew: Looks set to start rest of season
Minshew appears set to serve as the Colts' starting quarterback for the remainder of the campaign after Indianapolis announced Wednesday that Anthony Richardson (shoulder) is scheduled for season-ending surgery.
Minshew had already been primed for at least a four-game starting run after the Colts placed Richardson on injured reserve last week, but now that the rookie signal-caller is set to undergo surgery, Minshew will have a longer leash atop the depth chart. The Colts could still explore further options at quarterback, but even after a sloppy performance during Sunday's loss to the Jaguars, Minshew is likely the team's best option moving forward for the foreseeable future. The veteran struggled with turnovers versus Jacksonville, completing 33 of 55 passes for 329 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions while also losing one fumble. On deck Week 7 is a tough matchup against a Browns defense that put the clamps on Brock Purdy and the 49ers offense in Week 6.

Anthony Richardson QB | IND
Colts' Anthony Richardson: Done for season
The Colts announced Wednesday that Richardson will require season-ending surgery to address a Grade 3 AC joint sprain in his right shoulder.
Richardson was placed on injured reserve Oct. 11 after sustaining the injury to his throwing shoulder in the first half of the Colts' Week 5 win over the Titans. Colts owner Jim Irsay had hinted Monday that Richardson would most likely be shut down for the season, and now that he's confirmed to be headed for surgery, the quarterback's rookie campaign will officially come to an end. With Richardson unavailable moving forward, Gardner Minshew will continue as the team's starting signal-caller, backed up by Sam Ehlinger. Though the Colts anticipate Richardson making a full recovery from surgery in advance of the 2024 season, it's fair to wonder whether the team may look to scale back his rushing load to some degree moving forward in an attempt to preserve his health.

Josh Allen QB | BUF
Bills' Josh Allen: Set to participate in walk-through
Allen (shoulder) will participate in Wednesday's walk-through practice, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.
The Bills will release their first Week 7 injury report later Wednesday, when it will be known whether Allen was listed as a full or limited participant. Head coach Sean McDermott previously suggested that the quarterback is considered day-to-day as Sunday's game against the Patriots approaches, but the expectation is that Allen will be ready to play this weekend. Allen gave way to backup Kyle Allen for two snaps during Sunday's win over the Giants, but he was quickly able to return to the contest.

Derek Carr QB | NO
Saints' Derek Carr: Puts in full practice
Carr (shoulder/chest) was a full participant during Tuesday's walkthrough practice, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
After being knocked out of the Saints' Week 3 loss to the Packers with a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder, Carr has proceeded to start the ensuing three games. He struggled mightily in a loss to the Buccaneers in Week 4, but he's bounced back nicely over the past two games, completing 50 of 76 pass attempts (65.8 percent) for 536 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Carr is likely still less than 100 percent healthy and will face a quick turnaround in Week 7 ahead of a Thursday night game against the Jaguars, but his full participation in Tuesday's session indicates he's in no danger of missing the start.

Trace McSorley QB | WAS
Trace McSorley: Joins Chicago's practice squad
The Bears signed McSorley to the practice squad Tuesday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
McSorley gives the Bears a third quarterback while Justin Fields recovers from his dislocated thumb suffered in Week 6. Tyson Bagent or Nathan Peterman will start Sunday's game against the Raiders. McSorley appeared in six games for the Cardinals last season, making one start, and completing just 54.2 percent of his throws for 412 yards, zero touchdowns and five interceptions.

Trevor Lawrence QB | JAC
Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence: Limited but could play Thursday
Lawrence (knee) was a limited participant in Tuesday's practice, but the Jaguars remain optimistic he'll be available to play in Thursday's game against the Saints, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Per Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com, Lawrence was spotted taking part in individual drills during the open portion of Tuesday's practice, going through his workout while sporting a protective brace on the left knee he sprained late in Sunday's win over the Colts. Though Wolfe notes that backup quarterback C.J. Beathard took the larger share of first-team reps Tuesday, Beathard himself told Adam Stites of USA Today that it's "very likely" Lawrence starts Thursday. Head coach Doug Pederson could shed more light on the quarterback's status for Week 7 later Tuesday or after Wednesday's light practice.

Mac Jones QB | SF
Patriots' Mac Jones: Remains starter for Week 7
Offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien said Tuesday that he expects Jones to start the Patriots' Week 7 game against the Bills, Michael Giardi of NFL Network reports.
Though he avoided a third straight mid-game benching during a more competitive 21-17 loss to the Raiders in Week 6, Jones threw an ugly interception while New England was in field-goal range late in the second quarter. Through six starts, Jones has completed 64.2 percent of his passes but for just 6.0 yards per attempt -- 30th in the league among qualified QBs -- while taking 12 sacks and throwing five touchdowns against seven interceptions. Despite O'Brien's commitment, Jones' hold on the starting job looks to be a tenuous one, especially while the 1-5 Patriots are keeping three other quarterbacks (Malik Cunningham, Bailey Zappe and Will Grier) on the roster.

Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN
Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Won't require ankle surgery
Tannehill isn't expected to require surgery to address the right high-ankle sprain he sustained Sunday in the Titans' 24-16 loss to the Ravens, but he's without a definitive timeline for a return as Tennessee heads into its Week 7 bye, Jeff Darlington of ESPN reports.
Tannehill suffered a similar injury to the same ankle last December and missed the final three games of the regular season after having tightrope surgery, but he looks set to recover from his newest ankle sprain with rest and rehab. According to Darlington, Tannehill is sporting a protective cast on the ankle, with head coach Mike Vrabel noting Monday that the signal-caller will get "treatment around the clock" before the team makes a decision on his availability heading into an Oct. 29 game against the Falcons in Week 8, per ESPN.com. Vrabel added that backups Malik Willis and Will Levis will both get extra work in during the bye week, but the coach wouldn't say which of the two quarterbacks would be in line to start if Tannehill ends up missing the Week 8 game.

Justin Herbert QB | LAC
Chargers' Justin Herbert: Comes up short Monday
Herbert (finger) completed 22 of 37 pass attempts for 227 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while adding 20 rushing yards on six carries in Monday's 20-17 loss to Dallas.
Herbert dealt with the Cowboys' vaunted pass rush well up until the Chargers' final drive, when he was sacked by Micah Parsons before promptly throwing an interception to Stephon Gilmore on the ensuing play. On a positive note, the quarterback's game was not limited by the fractured finger on his non-throwing hand suffered in last week's win over Las Vegas. Herbert even absorbed solid contact on a couple of his six rushing attempts Monday, confirming that the rest of his 6-foot-6 frame was in working order. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are on tap for Herbert and company Week 7, a matchup featuring two of the premier arm talents in the league.
