  • Lamar Jackson QB | BAL

Ravens' Lamar Jackson: In line to practice Wednesday

Jackson (back) is expected to participate in Wednesday's practice, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Jackson wasn't able to practice in any capacity prior to being ruled out for Baltimore's win over the Packers in Week 17 due to a lower-back contusion, so it will be encouraging to see him participating in even a limited capacity Wednesday. Baltimore is approaching a Sunday night regular-season finale on the road against Pittsburgh that will decide the AFC North champion, and Rapoport reports that the Ravens are optimistic about Jackson's odds of being cleared to return Week 18. Tyler Huntley, who completed 16 of 20 passes for 107 yards and one touchdown versus Green Bay while also rushing eight times for 60 yards, will return to the backup role if Jackson is cleared to play.

  • Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield: Battling shoulder, knee injuries

The Buccaneers listed Mayfield as a limited participant in Tuesday's walk-through practice due to knee and right shoulder injuries, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Mayfield had notably been listed with a left shoulder injury on Buccaneers injury reports from Weeks 13 through 15, but he's now contending with an issue to his throwing shoulder along with his knee coming out of this past Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Dolphins. With the Bucs needing a win to have any hope of claiming the NFC South title, Mayfield isn't expected to be in any real danger of missing Saturday's matchup with the Panthers, but the pair of injuries will cast further doubt on the quarterback's chances of returning to his early-season form. During Tampa Bay's current four-game losing streak, Mayfield is averaging just 222.5 passing yards per contest and has thrown for six touchdowns while turning the ball over six times (five interceptions, one lost fumble).

  • Colts' Anthony Richardson: Not expected back for finale

The Colts aren't expected to activate Richardson (eye) from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's season finale versus the Texans, Stephen Holder and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com report.

Richardson was cleared to resume practicing Dec. 18, but he has yet to regain full vision in his right eye after fracturing an orbital bone Oct. 12. The third-year quarterback should continue to practice in limited fashion, but the Colts plan to have Riley Leonard make his first NFL start in Week 18, while Philip Rivers will serve as the No. 2 signal-caller. Richardson will close the season having made just two brief appearances at the tail end of blowout wins in Weeks 3 and 5, and Indianapolis will most likely decline the pricey fifth-year option on his rookie contract this offseason. The 23-year-old could still be a candidate to open 2026 as the team's starter with Daniel Jones (Achilles) headed for free agency and at risk of missing time to begin the campaign even if Indianapolis re-signs him.

  • Philip Rivers QB | IND

Colts' Philip Rivers: Heading to bench for Week 18

Rivers is set to move to the bench for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Texans with the Colts planning to have rookie Riley Leonard start at quarterback, Stephen Holder and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com report.

After being officially eliminated from playoff contention over the weekend, the Colts will give reps to younger players like Leonard in Week 18. The 44-year-old Rivers ends a brief run as the Colts' starter after he was lured out of retirement following Daniel Jones' season-ending Achilles injury in Week 14. Though the team went 0-3 with Rivers under center, he performed competently in his first NFL action since the 2020 season, completing 58 of 92 attempts for 544 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. Rivers is expected to head back into retirement following the season finale.

  • Riley Leonard QB | IND

Colts' Riley Leonard: In line to start season finale

The Colts plan to have Leonard start at quarterback in Sunday's season finale at Houston, Stephen Holder and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com report.

With the Colts getting eliminated from playoff contention last weekend, 44-year-old Philip Rivers will head to the bench as head coach Shane Steichen turns the offense over to Leonard. A rookie sixth-round pick out of Notre Dame, Leonard has made four appearances this season, with his lone extended action coming in Week 14 at Jacksonville after Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Leonard has completed 18 of 33 pass attempts for 145 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions this season while adding six yards and a score on three carries. Though he likely isn't seen as the Colts' long-term answer at quarterback, a strong showing in Week 18 could strengthen his case for sticking around as a backup option in 2026.

  • Rams' Matthew Stafford: Throws three picks in MNF loss

Stafford completed 22 of 38 pass attempts for 269 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in Monday's 27-24 loss to the Falcons.

Stafford's red-hot play came to a screeching halt with a trio of interceptions thrown (one of them a pick-six) in a surprising loss to the now 7-9 Falcons on Monday Night Football in Week 17. The 37-year-old was bailed out from committing a fourth turnover in the fourth quarter when an offsides penalty committed by an uninvolved defender erased a strip fumble recovery for Atlanta. Stafford showed his resiliency by overcoming his personal follies and nearly mounting a comeback from a 21-0 deficit at halftime. The MVP candidate certainly hurt his bid by having his worst game of the season in front of a national audience, but he will get an opportunity to redeem himself against the Cardinals on Sunday. Head coach Sean McVay stated after the loss that he plans on playing Stafford and the rest of his healthy starters Week 18, according to Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site.

  • Kirk Cousins QB | ATL

Falcons' Kirk Cousins: Game-manager role in win

Cousins completed 13 of 20 passes for 126 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions while adding one rush for one yard in the Falcons' 27-24 win over the Rams on Monday night.

Cousins opened the scoring with a four-yard touchdown pass to Bijan Robinson in the first quarter, but the veteran signal-caller mostly sat back and saw Robinson and his defense do the majority of the heavy lifting from there. No Falcons pass catcher compiled more than David Sills' 37 receiving yards, although Cousins did record a critical 11-yard completion to Kyle Pitts to move the chains early in what turned out to be Atlanta's game-winning drive. Cousins has thrown for under 200 yards in three of the last four games, and he's likely to continue leaning heavily on Robinson during a Week 18 home regular-season finale against the Saints on Sunday.

  • Hendon Hooker QB | TEN

Hendon Hooker: Back with practice squad

Hooker reverted to the Jets' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Hooker was elevated to serve as the team's backup quarterback behind Brady Cook in Sunday's 42-10 loss to the Patriots, ultimately not appearing in the contest. If Tyrod Taylor (knee/personal) remains sidelined in Week 18, Hooker would likely be elevated again for the team's final regular-season contest in Buffalo.

  • Clayton Tune QB | GB

Clayton Tune: Returns to practice squad

Tune reverted to the Packers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Tune was elevated to serve as the team's No. 2 quarterback behind Malik Willis (shoulder) in Saturday's 41-24 loss to the Ravens with Jordan Love (concussion) unavailable. Tune completed one of four passes for eight yards while throwing an interception, logging eight snaps on offense. The interception came in the fourth quarter when Tune was thrust into the game with Willis briefly sidelined following an aggravation of his previous shoulder issue. With the Packers locked in as the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoffs, it's possible that Love sits in Week 18 and Tune serves as the primary backup behind Willis against the Vikings.

  • Bailey Zappe QB | NYJ

Bailey Zappe: Reverts to practice squad

Zappe reverted to the Browns' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Zappe stepped into the Browns' backup quarterback role behind Shedeur Sanders during Sunday's win over the Steelers due to the absence of Dillon Gabriel (shoulder). Zappe could reprise the QB2 role against the Bengals in Week 18 if Gabriel is not cleared to play.
