Marcus Mariota QB | WAS
Titans' Marcus Mariota: Shows improvement
Mariota completed 24 of 32 passes for 237 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 20-19 loss to the Chargers. He also added seven carries for 38 yards.
Mariota surpassed 150 passing yards for only the second time this season thanks to a 75.0 percent completion rate. However, his downfield shots remain limited, as he completed only two passes of more than 20 yards in the performance. Overall, Mariota has just three touchdowns this season, and he's still likely hampered by the elbow injury he suffered in Week 1. Nevertheless this was an encouraging performance, even if it doesn't push Mariota into top-12 consideration at the position.

Deshaun Watson QB | CLE
Texans' Deshaun Watson: Takes bus to Jacksonville
Watson couldn't fly with the Texans to Jacksonville on Friday night in advance of Sunday's game due to concerns about his partially collapsed lung, Jay Glazer reported on "Fox NFL Sunday."
Instead, Watson took a 12-hour bus ride to Jacksonville to join his teammates. While Watson was left off the Texans' injury report after practicing fully, this tidbit should serve as a subtle reminder about the kind of pounding the quarterback has taken this season.

Tom Savage QB | DET
Tom Savage: Let go by 49ers
Savage was released by the 49ers on Saturday.
Savage signed with San Francisco early this week, and appears to have been nothing more than a quarterback for the scout team, though he could still re-sign with the team at some point. Nick Mullens remains entrenched as C.J. Beathard's backup for the 49ers, as Savage looks for his next opportunity.

Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN
Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill: Still not throwing Friday
Tannehill (shoulder), who has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, didn't do any throwing at practice Friday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
The Dolphins listed Tannehill as a limited participant for each of their practices Wednesday through Friday, but that doesn't mean a whole lot with the quarterback having yet to throw since sitting out the Week 6 overtime win over the Bears. Brock Osweiler will make a second straight start Sunday with Tannehill sidelined, but the Dolphins remain hopeful a long-term absence won't be in store for their top signal-caller. The Dolphins have already dismissed surgery as a possibility for Tannehill, who is believed to be dealing with an AC joint sprain rather than a torn labrum or rotator cuff. With the Dolphins facing a quick turnaround with a Thursday night game against the Texans in Week 9, the team may be realistically targeting the Nov. 4 contest versus the Jets for Tannehill's return to the lineup.

Case Keenum QB | CHI
Broncos' Case Keenum: Efficient in Week 7 win
Keenum completed 14 of 21 passes for 161 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Broncos' 45-10 win over the Cardinals on Thursday. He also rushed four times for four yards.
Keenum was spotted an early 7-0 lead courtesy of a Todd Davis pick-six, which was followed up by a 28-yard touchdown throw from Emmanuel Sanders to Courtland Sutton on a trick play later in the first quarter. A second defensive touchdown then gave Keenum a 21-0 cushion before the second quarter even started. Once Keenum hit Sanders with a touchdown pass from 64 yards out early in that period, the contest was essentially decided. The performance didn't really serve to answer some of the lingering questions about Keenum considering he had the luxury of serving as a game manager, but it was still a much-needed victory for the Broncos. He'll look to be on top of his game when Denver and the Chiefs face off in an AFC West Week 8 showdown.

Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN
Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill: Surgery not deemed necessary
Coach Adam Gase said Thursday that Tannehill won't require surgery to address what's believed to be a sprained AC joint in the quarterback's right shoulder, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.
Tannehill's injury has prompted the Dolphins to rule him out for a second straight game Sunday against the Lions, but it appears the club is optimistic he'll avoid a long-term absence. The Dolphins haven't prescribed rest for Tannehill to address the injury -- he was listed as a limited participant in practice Thursday for the second straight day -- but his return action probably shouldn't be considered forthcoming until he resumes throwing. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, Tannehill was on the field for the open portion of Thursday's practice, but wasn't allowed to lift his right arm to even mimic a throwing motion when he took snaps. Per Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald, Gase relayed later that Tannehill "could throw tomorrow if he wanted to," but it's clear the Dolphins intend to proceed carefully with the signal-caller. Brock Osweiler will be back under center in place of Tannehill in Week 7.

Jameis Winston QB | NYG
Buccaneers' Jameis Winston: Full practice despite hip issue
Winston was designated with a hip injury on Wednesday's practice report but still turned in a full session, Carmen Vitali of the team's official site reports.
The designation is likely due to just some residual soreness that Winston picked up during his 2018 starting debut against the Falcons last Sunday, as the Buccaneers have not issued any other statements regarding the matter. Winston is fully expected to be available for Sunday's Week 7 tilt against the Browns after throwing for 395 yards and four touchdowns in a losing cause versus Atlanta.

Deshaun Watson QB | CLE
Texans' Deshaun Watson: Practices fully Wednesday
Watson (chest) was a full participant at Wednesday's practice.
There was some concern when Watson was listed as a limited participant all of last week, and he ultimately ended up playing and struggling through his worst game of the season in Sunday's 20-13 win over the Bills. A return to full participation suggests he made it through the rough outing without any physical setbacks, but Watson could be in for another tough afternoon when the Jaguars host the Texans in Week 7. For what it's worth, Watson mentioned Wednesday that he feels much better than he did at the same point last week, per Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com.

Baker Mayfield QB | TB
Browns' Baker Mayfield: Not listed on injury report
Mayfield (ankle) isn't listed on the Browns' initial injury report ahead of Sunday's game in Tampa Bay.
Mayfield had a sore ankle after the 38-14 loss to the Chargers in Week 6, but it apparently isn't serious enough to warrant mention on the injury report. He'll look to bounce back in a prime matchup, facing a Buccaneers defense that ranks dead last in passing yards allowed per game (356) and per attempt (9.3) this season. The Bucs did fire defensive coordinator Mike Smith on Monday, but they still have major personnel deficiencies in the secondary.

Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN
Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill: Ruled out for Week 7
Tannehill (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.
Tannehill popped up on the injury report late last week and ultimately was ruled out in advance of Sunday's 31-28 overtime win over Chicago. He then took the field for practice Wednesday, but the Dolphins apparently weren't encouraged by his progress, or lack thereof. Tannehill is in serious danger of missing three consecutive games, as the Dolphins will travel to Houston in Week 8 for a Thursday night game. Brock Osweiler will get at least one more start while Tannehill recovers from what's believed to be an AC joint sprain. Coach Adam Gase acknowledged Wednesday that Tannehill is still too sore to throw passes, per Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald.
