Tagovailoa completed eight of 11 passes for 99 yards, with no touchdowns and an interception in Friday's preseason game against Chicago.

The second-year pro played well until the final play of his third drive, throwing an ugly interception into double coverage in the Chicago end zone on a 1st-and-10. It was Tagovailoa's final snap of the night, and he finished with only three points on three drives despite making some big plays to convert third downs (including a 50-yard catch-and-run for TE Mike Gesicki). The Dolphins could have a better group of pass catchers available for their second exhibition Aug. 21 against Atlanta after playing Saturday's game without WRs DeVante Parker, Will Fuller (foot), Albert Wilson (undisclosed), Allen Hurns and Preston Williams (PUP - foot).

Rush completed seven of 13 passes for 89 yards in Friday's preseason loss to the Cardinals. He didn't throw a touchdown pass or an interception.

The 27-year-old picked up a minor shoulder injury last week, but Rush didn't seem bothered by it in Arizona. He was once again the second QB in the game after Garrett Gilbert, but Rush hasn't done much in exhibition action so far to put pressure on Gilbert for the No. 2 role during the regular season behind Dak Prescott (shoulder).

Woodside completed 10 of his 15 pass attempts for 84 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Titans' preseason opener against the Falcons on Friday.

Woodside drew the start, as the team opted to sit Ryan Tannehill. He played the entire first half and led drives of 34 and 35 yards that resulted in 10 points. His lone touchdown came on a back-shoulder pass to Cameron Batson from 15 yards away. Woodside appears to be leading the competition for the backup quarterback job over Matt Barkley, and he didn't do anything to harm his chances with this performance.

Goff completed seven of nine passes for 56 yards and added a four-yard rush in Friday's 16-15 preseason loss to the Bills. He played two possessions and didn't have a touchdown or turnover.

Goff's first action as a Lion was milquetoast, as he led the team to a field goal on his second possession after going three-and-out on the opening drive. The offseason trade acquisition completed two of four passes when targeting Tyrell Williams and both of his passes to Amon-Ra St. Brown, in addition to having another completion in St. Brown's direction called back on a holding penalty. Building chemistry with Detroit's unheralded receiving corps will be key for Goff to find success with his new team, and he seems to have done a good job of that so far. He'll face another tough defense in Week 2 of the preseason, when the Lions travel to Pittsburgh.

Murray is unlikely to play in Friday's preseason contest against the Cowboys, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

Despite coach Kliff Kingsbury saying Murray would get in some snaps Friday, the quarterback is in street clothes just minutes before kickoff. Assuming Murray does sit out, Colt McCoy and Chris Streveler will handle QB duties for the Cardinals.

Murray isn't going through pregame warmups before Friday's preseason game against the Cowboys, meaning he may not see the field, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Earlier this week, coach Kliff Kingsbury said Murray would "play some" in the Cardinals' exhibition opener, but that may have been a bluff. If Murray doesn't suit up Friday, the team will roll with Colt McCoy and Chris Streveler under center.

Walker will start Sunday's preseason contest at Indianapolis, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.

With coach Matt Rhule sitting Sam Darnold and many of the starters, Walker will lead the offense in the Panthers' exhibition opener. In four appearances, including one start in relief of Teddy Bridgewater, last season, Walker completed 32 of 56 passes (57 percent) for 368 yards, one touchdown and five interceptions. Meanwhile, 2019 third-rounder Will Grier didn't see the field at all in 2020. As this preseason wears on, any in-game reps that Darnold doesn't get will trickle down to Walker and Grier, whose respective performances will determine if the team keeps two or three QBs this fall.

Coach Frank Reich said Ehlinger likely will start the Colts' second preseason game Saturday, Aug. 21 in Minnesota, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.

Before then, though, Jacob Eason will be under center first during Sunday's exhibition opener versus the Panthers. After Carson Wentz underwent foot surgery earlier this month, Eason received most of the first-team reps, but the second-year pro and Ehlinger -- a 2021 sixth-rounder -- have been splitting those snaps in recent practices.

Coach Matt Rhule said Darnold won't suit up for Sunday's preseason game at Indianapolis, Alaina Getzenberg of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Darnold will have to wait to get his first taste of in-game action until Saturday, Aug. 21 against the Ravens, at the earliest. Rhule specifically mentioned "most of the starters" will join Darnold on the sideline this weekend, which likely means Christian McCaffrey, Robby Anderson and DJ Moore will log DNPs as well.

Woodside is slated to start Friday's preseason opener against the Falcons, Jim Wyatt of the Titans official site reports.

Top QB Ryan Tannehill won't play in the contest, so Woodside -- who remains the favorite to serve as the team's No. 2 option at the position -- will get the starting nod Friday and is expected to play at least until halftime. Once he's lifted, Matt Barkley will take over and finish the game under center for the Titans.
