  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Questionable for Sunday

Head coach Nick Sirianni said Hurts (ankle) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, after splitting first-team practice reps evenly with Gardner Minshew this week, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Sirianni sounded more confident earlier in the week, while Hurts himself said Wednesday that he would be fine for Sunday's game. The 23-year-old quarterback now appears closer to truly questionable, though it's a situation where gamesmanship could be a factor, as the Eagles' running game in particular would look different with backup Gardner Minshew replacing Hurts, who enters Sunday ranked 10th in the league for rushing yards (695) and tied for fifth in rushing touchdowns (eight). Whatever the case, fantasy managers will need to treat Hurts as truly questionable, with the benefit of an early kickoff (1 p.m. ET on Sunday) if he ends up a game-time decision.

  • Jake Fromm QB | DET

Giants' Jake Fromm: Set for backup duties

Coach Joe Judge said Friday that Fromm is expected to operate as the No. 2 quarterback during Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Fromm joined the Giants on Tuesday when the team signed him off Buffalo's practice squad. With Daniel Jones (neck) out for Week 13, Mike Glennon is primed to step into the starting lineup.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Won't play Sunday

Giants head coach Joe Judge said Jones (neck) hasn't been cleared for contact work and has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Miami, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Jones was able to practice as a limited participant this week after picking up a neck strain in the Week 12 win over the Eagles, but he hasn't made enough progress to have a chance to suit up Sunday. According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, Jones' injury isn't believed to be of the season-ending variety, though it's unclear when the signal-caller will be cleared for contact work. Mike Glennon is set to start at quarterback for New York on Sunday, while Jake Fromm, who was signed off Buffalo's practice squad Tuesday, will handle backup duties.

  • Dak Prescott QB | DAL

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Workmanlike effort in win

Prescott completed 26 of 40 passes for 238 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Cowboys' 27-17 win over the Saints on Thursday night. He also rushed three times for minus-3 yards.

Prescott averaged a modest six yards per attempt and counted a 41-yard first-half connection with Amari Cooper as his longest completion. However, he made only one notable mistake, a pick which didn't result in any points for the Saints. Prescott failed to throw multiple touchdown passes for only the second time since Week 3, but he still turned in a serviceable fantasy effort overall. Next up for Prescott and his now healthy receiving corps will be will be a road matchup versus Washington a week from Sunday.

  • Josh Johnson QB | CIN

Josh Johnson: Moved back to practice squad

Johnson reverted to the Jets' practice squad Monday.

The quarterback served as the backup to Zach Wilson in Week 12 against the Texans, but with Joe Flacco being reinstated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Johnson is unlikely to find himself back on the active roster ahead of Sunday's game versus the Eagles.

  • Kyler Murray QB | MIN

Cardinals' Kyler Murray: Stays limited at practice

Murray (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

While Murray has yet to log a full session this week, there's an expectation from the Cardinals that both he and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) will return to the fold Sunday at Chicago, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Murray will have one more chance Friday to make a positive impression on Cardinals coaches and trainers with the aim to avoid a designation for Week 13 action. If he does enter the weekend as questionable, though, his status won't be confirmed until 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Bears' Justin Fields: Remains limited Thursday

Fields (ribs) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday.

Fields maintained his activity level for a second straight session after getting back on the field Wednesday. Currently tending to small rib fractures that kept him sidelined in the Bears' Thanksgiving Day win at Detroit, he's attempting to put himself in a position to return to action Sunday against the Cardinals. Friday's injury report could be telling for Fields' potential to play Week 13, but if he doesn't do enough to gain clearance Chicago will turn to Andy Dalton again for a spot start.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Maintains limited practice activity

Hurts (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.

After he was estimated as a limited participant for Wednesday's walk-through session, Hurts maintained the same level of activity while the Eagles held a more traditional practice session Thursday. While both Hurts himself as well as head coach Nick Sirianni have expressed varying degrees of optimism that the quarterback will be ready to go for Sunday's game against the Jets, what Hurts is able to do at Friday's practice will likely be the deciding factor in whether he carries an injury designation into the contest. Even if Hurts ultimately gets the green light to suit up and start, fantasy managers may not have a clear idea to what extent his sprained left ankle affects him from a rushing/mobility standpoint. Given that much of Hurts' fantasy value is reliant on his production on the ground -- he's averaging 57.9 rushing yards and 0.66 rushing touchdowns per game -- he may not be as dependable of a lineup option as he typically is, even in a favorable matchup with a porous Jets run defense.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Another limited practice

Jones (neck) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Since emerging from Week 12 action with a strained neck, Jones has gone from a week-to-week proposition to something closer to day-to-day after being able to get on the practice field Wednesday and remain there in the second session of the week. Coach Joe Judge told Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com on Thursday that a decision on Jones is on the team's medical staff, but he's willing to take it down to the wire to see if the quarterback can play Week 13. With the Giants kicking off Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET, Jones' status will be known about 90 minutes prior, but if he's unable to go the team will hand over the offense to veteran Mike Glennon.

  • Trevor Siemian QB | ATL

Saints' Trevor Siemian: Headed for backup role

Siemian will serve as the Saints' backup quarterback Thursday against the Cowboys with New Orleans set to give Taysom Hill his first start of the season, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.

Head coach Sean Payton stopped short of saying the Saints would be making a change at quarterback Week 13, acknowledging that he wanted to see how Hill -- who is nursing a foot injury -- fared at Wednesday's practice before naming a starter. The fact that Hill doesn't carry a designation into Thursday's contest confirms that he'll be ready to make his first start of the season, ending Siemian's four-game tenure atop the depth chart. After coming on in relief of Jameis Winston (knee) in Week 8 and helping lead New Orleans to an upset win over Tampa Bay, Siemian submitted an 0-4 record as a starter while completing 57.6 percent of his attempts for 6.4 yards per attempt and an 8:3 TD:INT. Hill likely won't offer much of an improvement, if any, over Siemian when it comes to downfield throwing, but he's proven to be a more accurate passer during his career and is a significantly bigger threat as a runner.
