  • Bears' Justin Fields: Throws late touchdown

Fields completed 26 of 39 passes for 285 yards and one touchdown while adding 35 yards on seven rushes in the Bears' 17-9 loss to the Vikings on Monday.

Fields could've had a much better game, but the coaching staff chose to go with a run-heavy approach for the first three quarters despite facing a Vikings defense that was one to target. Once the Bears were down by 14 points in the fourth quarter, the team finally turned Fields loose, and he had two drives in which he moved the Bears down the field, but threw a number of incomplete passes in the end zone. However, with time expiring, he threw a touchdown to Jesper Horsted to salvage his fantasy day. Fields will finish the fantasy playoffs with a pair of favorable matchups against the Seahawks and Giants, and his rushing ability should give him a reasonable scoring floor with potential for upside.

  • Jake Fromm QB | DET

Giants' Jake Fromm: Could start Week 16

Giants head coach Joe Judge said Fromm and Mike Glennon will be evaluated in practice this week before the team names a starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.

With the 4-10 Giants effectively having fallen out of the playoff race and with Daniel Jones (neck) shut down for the season, the organization may be incentivized to see what it has in the 23-year-old Fromm, who has more theoretical upside at this stage of his career than Glennon, a 32-year-old journeyman on an expiring deal. Though Glennon has started each of the past three games with Jones out of the lineup, he's completed 51 percent of his throws for 4.6 yards per attempt and a 2:5 TD:INT while guiding New York to a 0-3 record. After Glennon was pulled late in the fourth quarter of last weekend's 21-6 loss to the Cowboys, Fromm came on and completed six of 12 attempts for 82 yards. The performance was nothing special, but it may be enough for Fromm to supplant Glennon atop the depth chart.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Set to avoid surgery

Giants head coach Joe Judge confirmed that Jones (neck) won't require surgery to address the neck strain that resulted in the quarterback being placed on injured reserve Monday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.

Judge noted that the Giants made the decision to shut Jones down for the remaining three games of the season as a matter of precaution after doctors didn't see enough progress in the 24-year-old's recovery over the past couple weeks to clear him for taking contact. That being said, Jones is expected to show more improvement while resting over the next several weeks, so he looks like he should be ready to go for OTAs in the spring. Around the same time, the Giants will have to decide whether to exercise Jones' fifth-year option for 2023. If New York chooses to forgo exercising the option, Jones would likely head into 2022 as a lame-duck starter, if the Giants don't trade him elsewhere or bring in legitimate competition for the top job.

  • Derek Carr QB | NO

Raiders' Derek Carr: Tosses TD, sets up game-winning FG

Carr completed 25 of 38 passes for 236 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Monday's 16-14 win over the Browns. He added seven rushing yards on three attempts and fumbled twice, losing one.

Vegas' struggling defense stepped up in this one, as the Raiders took a 10-0 lead into halftime thanks to Carr's five-yard, first-quarter touchdown toss to Bryan Edwards. Carr then let the Browns back into the game when he fumbled on a third-quarter sack. He looked to be in pain at the end of the play as his leg was put in an awkward position, but Carr was able to continue. Cleveland cashed in on the short field after his fumble in the third and scored again in the fourth to take the lead with 3:45 to play. Carr then threw an interception on the ensuing possession, but Vegas got the ball back again after the two minute-warning with no timeouts and Carr embarked on a season-saving drive to set up a game-winning 48-yard field goal as time expired. Still in the wild-card hunt at 7-7, Carr and the Raiders will host the Broncos in Week 16.

  • Nick Mullens QB | JAC

Browns' Nick Mullens: Comes up just short in spot start

Mullens completed 20 of 30 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 16-14 loss to the Raiders.

A Browns skill-position group decimated by a COVID-19 outbreak didn't do Mullens many favors and committed a number of costly drops, but the third-string quarterback still almost managed to lead Cleveland to victory with both Baker Mayfield (illness) and Case Keenum(illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list. After being shut out in the first half, the Browns got a Nick Chubb rushing touchdown in the third quarter before Mullens found tight end Harrison Bryant for the go-ahead six-yard score on fourth down with 3:45 remaining. The Raiders answered with a game-winning 48-yard field goal on the game's final play, prevailing despite Mullens' valiant effort. At least one of Mayfield or Keenum will almost certainly be back in time to start against the Packers in Week 16, relegating Mullens back to the bench.

  • Eagles' Gardner Minshew: Headed back to No. 2 role

Minshew is expected to serve as the Eagles' backup quarterback Tuesday against Washington with Jalen Hurts (ankle) entering the Week 15 matchup without an injury designation, Chris Franklin of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Hurts turned in full practice sessions Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, clearing up any lingering concerns about the health of his sprained ankle, which prevented him from playing in the Eagles' Week 13 win over the Jets prior to a Week 14 bye. Minshew stepped in for a spot start in that contest and completed 20 of 25 attempts for 242 yards and two touchdowns in Philadelphia's 33-18 win, but head coach Nick Sirianni reiterated after that game that Hurts would retain the starting job when healthy.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Cleared for Week 15

Hurts (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Tuesday's game against Washington.

After he was listed as a full participant on practice reports issued Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Hurts seemingly has proven to the Philadelphia coaching and training staffs that his sprained left ankle no longer is a concern. Though he sat out the Eagles' Week 13 win over the Jets with the injury, Hurts received some added time to heal up thanks to a Week 14 bye along with the NFL's decision to push back the Week 15 matchup with the Football Team two days due to COVID-19 concerns within the Washington organization. According to Chris Franklin of The Newark Star-Ledger, Hurts is in line to start Tuesday's game, even after Gardner Minshew turned in a strong outing in place of Hurts back in Week 13.

  • Andy Dalton QB | PHI

Bears' Andy Dalton: Not playing Monday

Dalton will remain on the reserve/COVID-19 list and won't be available for Monday's game against the Vikings, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports.

Dalton was placed on the list Friday, so he was facing an uphill battle to clear all COVID-19-related protocols ahead of Monday's contest. Nick Foles will serve as the top backup to starting quarterback Justin Fields in Week 15.

  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Lions' Jared Goff: Hits COVID-19 list after upset win

The Lions placed Goff on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.

One day after completing 21 of 26 pass attempts for 216 yards and three touchdowns en route to guiding the Lions to an upset win over the Cardinals, Goff's status suddenly is in question heading into the team's Week 16 matchup with the Falcons. At this stage, it's unknown if Goff is vaccinated or if he's dealing with any symptoms of the virus, factors that ultimately will determine whether he gains clearance for Sunday's game in Atlanta. Tim Boyle would presumably be in line for his second start of the season if Goff is unable to play this weekend.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Goes on IR

The Giants placed Jones (neck) on injured reserve Monday, ending his season.

Minutes after Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reported that Jones would be shut down for the season due to his strained neck, the Giants made the news official. Mike Glennon had started the past three games in place of Jones, but his lackluster production in those contests could prompt the Giants to give Jake Fromm a longer look Week 16 in Philadelphia, or at some point before the season ends. Jones concludes his third NFL campaign with a 64.3 percent completion rate, 6.7 YPA and 10:7 TD:INT to go with 62 carries for 298 yards and two touchdowns. The Giants are confident that Jones' injury isn't a long-term concern, and while he should be back to full health for OTAs and open the spring atop the depth chart, the organization could bring in competition for the starting job before training camp.
