Gonzalez (shoulder) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Gonzalez had not practiced since sustaining a shoulder injury in the Patriots' Week 3 loss to the Jaguars. The cornerback's upgrade to limited participation is a huge step forward, and the star could be back as soon as Week 6 against the Jets.

Gonzalez (shoulder) did not participate at the Patriots' practice Thursday. Gonzalez missed his fifth straight practice as he continues to work his way back from a shoulder injury that he suffered Week 3 against Jacksonville. The cornerback seems likely to miss a second straight contest in Week 5, setting up Charles Woods (shoulder) and Karon Prunty (hamstring) to potentially operate in more substantial roles again Sunday versus Las Vegas.

Gonzalez (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bills, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Gonzalez was absent from his third straight day of practice Friday due to a shoulder injury likely suffered in the Patriots' loss to the Jaguars in Week 3. With the starting cornerback out, Charles Woods and fifth-round rookie Karon Prunty will likely get more reps.

Gonzalez recorded two solo tackles and two pass breakups in Wednesday's 13-10 loss to the Seahawks. On the same week that he became the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history with a four-year, $135 million extension, Gonzalez proved deserving of the honor by allowing just two catches for nine yards across the five passes on which he was targeted. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, the 24-year-old's penchant for blanket coverage might also limit his chances to put IDP stats on the board, as evidenced by his line Wednesday night. The 2023 first-round pick has just three interceptions across his first 35 career regular-season games.

Gonzalez (ankle) was a full participant in Monday's practice, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports. The Patriots got one of the key pieces of their defense back on the practice field Monday, as Gonzalez was a full participant after recovering from an ankle issue. The star cornerback, who remains in negotiations with the team on a contract extension, missed several practices and both of the first two preseason games due to the injury, but he now appears to have moved past the issue.
