Minshew will start for Arizona in Week 9 at Seattle after he replaced Jacoby Brissett in Week 8 at Dallas, and Minshew played well with 17-of-23 passing for 188 yards and three touchdowns in the second half. He has a brutal stretch of games coming up against the Seahawks, Rams and Chiefs, but Minshew should be added in all Superflex and two-quarterback leagues for at least 10 percent of your remaining FAAB.

Head coach Mike LaFleur announced that Minshew will step in as the Cardinals' new starting quarterback beginning with Sunday's game at Seattle, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Unsurprisingly, the Cardinals have opted to appoint Minshew to the top spot on the depth chart after he came on in relief of a struggling Jacoby Brissett and led a stirring comeback in Sunday's 33-30 overtime win over the Cowboys. In what was his first appearance of the season, Minshew completed 17 of 23 pass attempts for 188 yards and three touchdowns in just under two quarters' worth of action before Chad Ryland sealed the victory with a walk-off 42-yard field goal. Though his performance in future games will ultimately dictate how long he sticks around as the Cardinals' starter, Minshew is far from a lock to hold down the job for the balance of the season. If the 3-5 Cardinals eventually fade from playoff contention, LaFleur may want to give an extended look to rookie third-round pick Carson Beck, who will serve as Minshew's top backup in Week 9 while Brissett falls to third on the depth chart, per Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site.

Minshew's teammate Jacoby Brissett, who is in the midst of a contract dispute with the Cardinals, posted a recent photo Thursday on Instagram that showed him getting in some work with several teammates, Tyler Drake of Arizonasports.com reports. That Brissett -- who didn't take a single practice rep during Arizona's offseason program -- connected with WRs Marvin Harrison and Simi Fehoko, TEs Trey McBride and Elijah Higgins along with fellow QB Kedon Slovis is a positive sign, but at this stage it's unclear if or for how long the signal-caller's contract issue lingers once the Cardinals re-take the field. In the absence of Brissett, the team's expected Week 1 starter, Minshew took the majority of first-team QB reps throughout the offseason, so this will be a situation worth monitoring closely once Arizona's training camp commences July 22.

Minshew is in line to sign a one-year contract with the Cardinals, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Minshew's odds of starting Week 1 will depend on Arizona's other moves this offseason, with Jacoby Brissett and Kedon Slovis being the other QBs currently under contract. Minshew replaced an injured Patrick Mahomes (knee) in Kansas City this past December, only to suffer a season-ending knee injury of his own during his first start. Initial reports said the injury might be an ACL tear, but Minshew ultimately was diagnosed with just a bone bruise and made a full recovery by the end of January, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Minshew's MRI on Monday revealed that he didn't suffer a torn ACL in Sunday's loss to the Titans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Rapoport adds that Minshew has been diagnosed with a non-displaced tibial plateau fracture, which is considered a very bad bone bruise. Minshew still is expected to miss game time due to the knee injury, but it's good news for the veteran quarterback nonetheless after a torn ACL was the initial fear. Chris Oladokun came on in relief of Minshew versus Tennessee and completed 11 of 16 passes for 111 scoreless yards. He also rushed two times for seven yards. With Minshew joining Patrick Mahomes (knee) on the shelf, the Chiefs are slated to sign Shane Buechele off the Bills' practice squad to join Oladokun in the quarterback room.
