Ace Bailey SF | UTA
Jazz's Ace Bailey: Big defensive effort in loss to Blazers
Bailey registered nine points (4-10 FG, 1-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist, three blocks and two steals across 37 minutes during Saturday's 112-90 loss to the Trail Blazers.
The second-year forward collected his first steals of the season while swatting away three blocks for the third time in six games to begin the campaign. Bailey's skills are growing quickly, and so far in 2026-27 the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft is averaging 13.3 points, 7.8 boards, 2.2 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.5 threes in 31.0 minutes while shooting an impressive 50.0 percent from the floor.

Darryn Peterson SG | UTA
Jazz's Darryn Peterson: Leading scorer in Saturday's loss
Peterson amassed 16 points (6-15 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 36 minutes during Saturday's 112-90 loss to the Trail Blazers.
The 16 points led the Jazz on the afternoon, as only two of his teammates even scored in double digits. Peterson is quickly getting the hang of this NBA thing after being the second overall pick in the 2026 Draft, scoring at least 14 points in four of the last five games while averaging 14.2 points, 4.4 boards, 2.8 assists, 2.0 threes and 1.2 steals, but his 35.2 percent shooting during that stretch indicates he still has plenty to work on.

Lauri Markkanen PF | UTA
Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Struggles in return
Markkanen finished with 13 points (3-14 FG, 2-11 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocks over 29 minutes in Saturday's 112-90 loss to Portland.
Markkanen didn't play in Wednesday's 117-111 loss to San Antonio. He was back on the floor Saturday, though it wasn't his most efficient shooting performance. The 2017 No. 7 overall pick hasn't played the best in his five regular-season appearances in 2026-27, averaging just 15.4 points. However, Markkanen has proven he can be one of the most productive players in the league, so there's reason to believe he will get on track at some point.

Toumani Camara SF | POR
Trail Blazers' Toumani Camara: Sinks four treys in Saturday's win
Camara ended Saturday's 112-90 victory over Utah with 14 points (4-9 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and two steals in 31 minutes.
The fourth-year forward continues to fill up the bucket from long distance. Camara has drained at least three three-pointers in five straight games to open the season, averaging 15.2 points, 4.0 threes, 2.2 boards, 1.4 steals and 1.2 assists in 26.2 minutes and shooting a blistering 51.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Damian Lillard SG | POR
Trail Blazers' Damian Lillard: Drops 22 points in Utah
Lillard produced 22 points (6-17 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals over 27 minutes during Saturday's 112-90 victory over the Jazz.
The 36-year-old point guard bounced back from a quiet nine-point effort Thursday against the Grizzlies, as Lillard scored more than 20 points for the third time in five games to begin the season and drained multiple three-pointers for the fourth time. His return to Portland has gone as well as could have been hoped -- Lillard is averaging 19.2 points, 4.0 boards, 3.6 assists, 3.2 threes and 1.0 steals a contest, and the Blazers are 4-1 with him running the offense.
-
Brandon Miller SG | CHA
Hornets' Brandon Miller: Scores 24 points in loss
Miller ended with 24 points (8-20 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block over 33 minutes in Saturday's 109-104 loss to Philadelphia.
Miller didn't shoot the ball well in Friday's 95-79 loss to the Wizards, but things got better Saturday, with the 23-year-old connecting on 41.7 percent of his attempts from deep. He has had a quality 2026-27 campaign and is now averaging career bests in points (24.4), rebounds (6.1) and steals (1.4) across 34.0 minutes per contest in seven regular-season appearances. Miller is currently playing at an All-Star level, and that could continue even when Kon Knueppel (hamstring) and Coby White (calf) are back on the floor. Of course, this is assuming that he can stay healthy.

Deni Avdija PF | POR
Trail Blazers' Deni Avdija: Hits for game-high 24 in win
Avdija posted 24 points (6-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 10-13 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal over 30 minutes during Saturday's 112-90 win over Utah.
Avdija led all scorers on the afternoon as he dropped at least 23 points for a fourth straight game. The 25-year-old forward is finding chemistry quickly with his new point guard Damian Lillard, and during that four-game stretch Avdija's averaged 24.3 points, 6.3 boards, 6.0 assists and 1.8 threes in 33.5 minutes.

Naz Reid PF | CHA
Hornets' Naz Reid: Another rough shooting night
Reid finished with 14 points (4-12 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one block across 36 minutes in Saturday's 109-104 loss to the 76ers.
Reid had difficulty getting most of his shots to fall in Friday's 95-79 loss to the Wizards. Things didn't get any better Saturday for the 27-year-old, who failed to sink any of his attempts from behind the arc. Still, despite some rough patches in his first year with the Hornets, including getting benched during the second half of Wednesday's meeting with the Pistons, Reid is averaging a career-best 15.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per contest. However, it's unclear if Reid will be able to remain as productive once Coby White (calf) and Kon Knueppel (hamstring) are cleared to get back on the floor.
-
Grayson Allen SG | CHA
Hornets' Grayson Allen: Catches fire from deep Saturday
Allen ended with 27 points (9-12 FG, 7-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block over 30 minutes in Saturday's 109-104 loss to Philadelphia.
Allen scored only five points in Friday's loss to the Wizards. However, he showed up in a big way Saturday by finishing the night with a new season high in scoring. The 2018 No. 21 overall pick is now averaging 15.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting a career-best 47.1 percent from deep over 27.3 minutes per contest in his first seven regular-season games with the Hornets.

Darius Acuff Jr. PG | SAC
Kings' Darius Acuff: Drops 38 points in Saturday's loss
Acuff finished Saturday's 136-105 loss to the Grizzlies with 38 points (12-25 FG, 9-14 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five assists and five rebounds over 37 minutes.
The rookie seventh-overall pick started out slowly with two points in the first quarter, but he responded with 19 points in the second before adding 17 more points in the second half to set a new career high. Acuff has already tallied three games of 30-plus points in his young career and is averaging 26.3 points, 6.3 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 3.2 threes over 36.5 minutes per game, although he's shooting 39.6 percent from the field (including 32.2 percent from three-point range). Even with established veterans like Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis on the roster, it is Acuff that has operated as the focal point of the Kings' offense early on in the 2026-27 season.
