Kings' Maxime Raynaud: Penciled in as No. 2 center
Raynaud enters his second NBA season after flashing intriguing offensive versatility during his rookie campaign.
The seven-footer can stretch the floor and facilitate from the frontcourt, giving Sacramento a unique developmental option. However, as long as Domantas Sabonis is in town, Raynaud will likely be competing for reserve minutes. Another year of development could help Raynaud carve out a consistent role in the Kings' rotation, and if he continues to impress, the Kings may be more willing to part ways with Sabonis.

Kings' Nique Clifford: Could see larger role
Clifford enters his second NBA season after showing flashes as a versatile two-way wing during his rookie campaign.
His ability to defend multiple positions and contribute as a rebounder should keep him in the mix for rotation minutes, though Sacramento's wing depth could make consistent playing time difficult to secure. Continued improvement as a perimeter shooter would go a long way toward expanding his role in 2026-27 after he hit 33.3 percent from beyond the arc over 75 regular-season games as a rookie.

Kings' Dylan Cardwell: To compete for role
Cardwell returns to Sacramento after spending last season with the organization, giving him a leg up in the battle for frontcourt minutes entering training camp.
The big man provides size, rebounding and rim protection, though he'll likely be competing for a reserve role behind Domantas Sabonis and Maxime Raynaud. Across 44 regular-season games in 2025-26, Cardwell averaged 5.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 20.6 minutes per contest.

Kings' Darius Acuff: Could be involved right away
Acuff enters his rookie season with an opportunity to earn developmental minutes in Sacramento's backcourt after being selected in the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft.
The dynamic scoring guard could spend time learning behind the Kings' veteran guards while adjusting to the NBA game, but a starting role on Opening Night could be on the table. Acuff's long-term upside as a shot creator makes him one of Sacramento's top young prospects.

Kings' Keegan Murray: Projected to start at four
Murray (ankle) is projected to start at power forward for the Kings in 2026-27, according to Kings beat writer Chris Watkins.
Watkins believes De'Andre Hunter will start at small forward next to Murray, with rookie Alex Karaban coming off the bench. Murray underwent an arthroscopic procedure to remove loose bodies in his left ankle back in May, though he's expected to be ready in time for training camp.

Kings' Alex Karaban: Tallies 14 points in SL victory
Karaban finished Friday's 92-90 Summer League win over Charlotte with 14 points (6-12 FG, 2-8 3Pt), three assists and two rebounds over 35 minutes.
It was a bit of an inconsistent performance from Karaban, who scored seven points in both the first and third quarters but did not score in the other two frames. He still finished tied with Jonathan Mogbo as the Kings' second-leading scorer behind Emanuel Sharp (16 points). The Kings acquired Karaban from the Cavaliers after he was selected by Cleveland with the No. 29 pick of the 2026 NBA Draft, but the UConn product's playing time in his rookie season could be limited if he's behind De'Andre Hunter (eye) and Nique Clifford (rest) on the depth chart after the preseason.

Kings' Emanuel Sharp: Leads Sacramento in scoring Friday
Sharp tallied 16 points (5-12 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three assists, two rebounds, three steals and one block over 30 minutes during the Kings' 92-90 Summer League win over the Hornets on Friday.
Sharp scored 13 of his team-high 16 points in the first half, with the rookie second-rounder being one of six Kings players to score in double digits in Friday's victory. He also made his mark defensively with three steals, an area of his game that has really stood out so far in the Summer League. Zach LaVine (hand), Malik Monk (personal) and Nique Clifford (rest) are all ahead of Sharp on the Kings' depth chart, but Sharp could earn himself a consistent role in the rotation with a strong summer, training camp and preseason.

Karaban posted 21 points (7-15 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds and a steal across 27 minutes in Wednesday's 82-76 Summer League loss to the Celtics.
Karaban endured a slow start to the Summer League, scoring just seven points on 3-for-15 shooting across his first three appearances. However, he bounced back admirably here and showed a glimpse of what he can do on both ends of the court after ending just two boards shy of a double-double. The 29th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft and former UConn star is expected to fight for a rotation spot during training camp.
